Name: Eager Gender: Unimportant. Type of Communist: Anarcho-communism/Anti-authoritarian communist. I'm a strong believer that the Soviet Union was a completely failed attempt at communism. Botched by authoritarianism, I believe the Soviet Union existed as a sort of pseudo-capitalist society, where educated government bureaucrats replaced the capitalists domination over the workers. Emma Goldman's account ( My Disillusionment in Russia) of early Soviet Society is a really eloquent account makes a chilling case that despite the common argument that Stalin ruined the USSR, it was a doomed effort towards worker self-management from the beginning. I'm very interested discussing/debating with others; the short-lived Makhnoist campaign by Nestor Makhno and Maria Nikiforova to form a stateless (anarchist) communist society in part of Soviet-annexed Ukraine. I'm also interested in creating discussions about the animosity that existed between Karl Marx and Mikhail Bakunin at the first International; and how that has created a false and misleading divide between anarchism and communism, and ways to reconcile that divide.

Hello! I go by woofpuppy. (seriously, I do use that 3nodding )
I notice a lot of people mention their gender... I'm male, if that's important. question
I happily identify as socialist and am tapping my foot waiting for the world to change. Other than debate, I'm not sure how to go about making that happen. People hear me say 'socialist' and they freak out, like I'm a talking snake or something. *shrugs* I live near a huge military base and the locals are aggressively traditional conservatives and I hate it. I need to move.

- Edgar Allen Poe Welcome to the guild! biggrin I know what you mean, I usually get that kind of reaction too when I say that I'm a communist (the town where I live at is full of right winged people). I've learnt to ignore it though 3nodding (but it still isn't too nice to be looked at as if you were some sort of demon).

My name is Kaylee, but I just tend to go by Dissy.
I'm a female, as if this should be important.
I don't entirely classify myself as any certain type of communist/socialist/ect.
I just feel like the class system and capitalism is out of whack, and that there are too many injustices in this world, many of them falling on the lower and middle classes.
I also believe that we should try and solve our problems through peace and talking, in case you were interested.

Hello everyone!
I'd prefer to just be known as Sym, I'm a male, and I'm a Democratic Socialist/Social Democrat ( I usually jump between the two, unfortunately sweatdrop ).
What that means is that I believe the government has to bring down the ruler (and bring it down hard) on big business and remember that it's a servant of the people and not solely the rich. I'm not totally and completely opposed to private property; I only care that the person who owns whatever property he's attempting to purchase is truly a man of the people and not someone that locks themselves in a gilded mansion and lets a pile of money build up over time while others sweat and toil to get by. In my opinion, the transition to a classless society should be gradual rather than forced. In the end, I think people will choose socialism because we'll find a way for it to work and work better than capitalism.

I'm Crumpet. IRL I am a languages student, though I took a couple years out to work and save up for studies - I'm now living and studying in Germany.
I am an odd mix of liberal and authoritarian. I believe in equal rights for races, genders and sexualities but at the same time, I believe that for a government to be of any use, it needs to be strong and unyielding. I think a lot of old-fashioned thinking also needs to be done away with - one of my greatest pet peeves is the idea that 'parents know best'. Many parents are downright terrible, taking awful care of their children, instilling terrible and deplorable values, putting their own needs before those of their children and so forth, and yet there are less controls on who can raise a child than there are on who can own an automobile.

In order for this to change Anarchy must take place so the foundations of the corrupted and greedy will fall.
