Melanie leaned against what small railing was on the crows nest; Up here above all the chaos on deck, it was peaceful, and almost quiet. Melanie was brought back from her reviere by a huge landmass, she smiled, then looked down, spotted Storm and pointed to the land. "Captain! Land a-ho!"

Storm signaled her acknowledgment back up to Melanie, and bent herself back over the map; she judicially marked off their location.
"Sun's going down."
"Strike the colors; replace them with...Dutch, I think. Oh, and call the hour as well."
"As my captain commands."
Stil relayed Storm's commands with casual easy; their "British" flag was retired and replaced with a Dutch. The Dutch, unlike the British, don't port for the evening. After the colors were properly replaced, the "day" crew headed for the below decks, and the "night" crew came to replace them.

Melanie saw Storm's acknowledgement and began to quickly descend the ropes, hoping that the sun wouldn't set before she got to the deck. With her luck, it did- and she was left to climb the ropes by lantern-light-and finally after 10 long minutes, she felt the deck under her feet. She breathed a sigh of relief, only to be stared at by the vampires and other night creatures that called this ship there home. Melanie shivered and squinted her eyes, looking for Storm amongst the crew. "So, is this attire proper for dinner?" Melanie said, her voice laced with sarcasism.

Storm acutally seemed to take Melani's question seriously. She shrugged.
"If you want. Your face could do with a little bit of cleaning."
It was true; there was dirt smugged on Mel's cheek. The drow shrugged again.
"But it's not an order. Excuse me, won't you?"
Storm left to go finish her captain duties; she didn't get off like the day crew did either, but would typically be in her cabin eating at ten-past-six. Besides. She could do with a bit of waiting.

Melanie sighed and was about to turn around to see if there was any help needed, then decided against it, in light of the fact that all of them would stare her down. "Lookin' fer work?" One of the crewmen shouted at her, snickering to his friends. Mel ignored his question and headed for the upper deck, until a unnaturally cold hand grabbed her arm and jerked her towards the group. "Get your hands off me jerk!" Mel yelled at him as took a swig of rum. "Wonderful." I thought

The drunken priate gave a smelly little chuckle.
"An' what's a pretty lassy like you doin' all one your lonesome, huh? Where's your dadda?"
He laughed at his own bad pun and celebrated with another drink.

Melanie coughed from the horrible smell that came from the drunken pirates mouth, and when he finally stopped speaking, she took advantage of the opportunity. "What I'm doing is none of your business! And I swear, if you don't let me go right now, I'll run you through!"

[Sorry it's taken so long to reply. ^^" Very busy, here.]
The pirate gave another little drunken; he "caressed" Melanie's cheek roughly.
"Can I run you through?"
"Thanks enough, Peters. Let her go."
The pirate stared at Storm blearily, not quite seeing only one of her. As soon as he did, he dropped Melanie's arm faster then a hot brand, blushing and stammering his excuses the entire time.
"I...uh...that is..."
Storm wasn't interested in him, or his excuses; she cut him short with a sharp word.
"It's fine. Our little dove here isn't worse for the wear , is she?...no?Then no harm, no foul. Move along."
She waited util he shuffeled past before speaking to Melanie.
"You're one to make friends, aren't you?"

Melanie looked at the captain and smirked, "I'm always up for making friends." she said sarcastically as she crossed her arms infront of her, glaring at the others passing by. "What do you want Captain?"

Storm smiled brightly at Melanie, completely disregarding her sarcasm.
"Dinner. Or have you forgotten?"

Storm smiled at Melanie's sarcasm.
"Shall we? Cook made some scrumptious fish to dine on tonight."
She gestured back towards the staircase.

Storm smirked again and turned to leave the hold. She moved quickly and efficiently over the deck of the rocking ship. When they reached her cabin, a sailor opened the door for them; another pushed in Storm's chair when she sat, and still another began serving the food.

A surprisingly pleasant aroma nearly made Melanie's stomach growl like a ravage wolf as she walked into the captains' cabin. She looked around, trying to absorb all of the quaint accesories that were strewn about the cabin. She sat down and looked at the dish as she waited impatiently for Storm to begin eating. "After you." Mel mumbled.
