"Eh, he likes little out of the way places. We were in a secluded mansion before this. Quirky maybe, but he's got good taste." That was one thing that everyone seemed to notice. Despite what the building was, it had a new pourpose now and a completely new feel. The Count's tastes had changed the atmosphere for the better. About then the musicians began onto a new song, a little slower and cheerful; a juggler would also appear now along side the fire swallower from earlier. Meanwhile The Count would entertain Thanatos a while more. "Sore wa yorokobashii. Douzoyoroshiku." His words were returned in kind, and in the language he had addressed The Count. The man knew a little Japanese it seemed, perhaps he was not all that bad. The Count would chuckle a little when Thanatos said everyone was armed, it was at least part true. Despite being asked to disarm, some simply entered with weapons anyways. One example was Sairys, her arm was a weapon, but instead of disarming she merely covered the arm with flesh. The same went for Thanatos really, his arm was also a weapon but at the same time an appendage. Then there was Tegral and his group, which more or less were weapons. Luckily being mechanical, the security systems The Count had put in place could suppress them, save for ripping a sword out of their legs and slashing away. Any explosives, missles, lasers, etc were suppressed and would not work inside. Still, everyone seemed to be behaving, no one had attacked another and they all seemed to be in good spirits. By now Bertuccio was on his way back to the front, having heard a small commotion, that being KB, the doormen and the ghoul.

Twi wasn't about to disagree with Baptistian and say he preferred Galette's style. "Quirky? Bud, you haven't met quirky yet." Twi looked around again for a moment, before turning back to Baptistian. "Correction; I think you've probably just been introduced at this party."

Masteama respected Nana's wish not to temporarily leave. He couldn't, however, tell if this was because she was really just as comfortable in here or because she was reserved due to what the other attendees might think if they were to suddenly leave for a moment. "All right, but I do want you to tell me if you become too uncomfortable. You needn't take the entire weight of the history in this room on your shoulders at once."

Than chuckled in return. "Now now, isn't it impolite for the Count of Monte Cristo to use plain speech to a new acquaintance?" Thanatos was of course speaking of the Count's lack of use of the copula. He was at least humored by the otherwise well taken response. "However, do understand that I am serious when I say not a single person in this room is incapable of destroying this entire building on a whim. If I were to be cynical, I'd say your plan wasn't a party but an assembly of a weapon of mass destruction stockpile." The 'artificial' things that the people in this room carried were not the topic of Than's statement. Even without his arm, Than didn't doubt that he could very well bring the entire room down with a portion of his abilities, just as others had done the same on many occasions. "I do not call it your fault, however; although, it is your responsibility. I do hope you at least are aware of the conflicts that are ongoing in this room."

Nn...

*Nana would take a few minutes out in the small seating area to regain her composure, breathing deeply and exhaling slowly. In the back of her mind, she was probably worrying about the children now. For the moment KB was now out of sight, he may have been outside but for all Nana knew, he could have been headed off to the Citadel to attack again. At the very least the children weren't alone, they had some adult super-vision, that at the very least put Nana at ease slightly. Perhaps something from the tables could help her calm down a little, though up until now she hadn't nibbled on or had a drink of anything there, despite having a cup of punch with her. It was difficult for others to tell her state of mind right now*

Baptistain would burst out in a loud boistress laugh. No doubt there was enough quirk in the room to run a small city, or ship. Twilight was an agreeable fellow, and would hopefully relay that to The Count when he got a chance to speak with him, and he would get a chance. Quite possibly as soon as The Count was finished speaking with Thanatos, a conversation that for the moment was continuing. The Count chuckled at Thanatos' response, reguarding 'impolite' speech. "Then it would be best to say, 'make the bombs as comfortable as possible, as not to make them explode unnecessarily', correct?" In short, if everyone could enjoy the evening then there were no worries, and it was The Count's goal to make sure everyone had a good time. Finally The Count would nod his head in acknowledgement of Thanatos' final words. He was well aware of the conflicts, but was hoping their curiosity could over ride that, if only for tonight.

At least Twi had the time to talk, now that he wasn't holding back a human powerhouse from bulldozing the place. There wasn't really any reason Twilight would relay a hostile message to the Count, especially considering he had some small business to talk with him about. It wasn't a surprise to him that there were no real fights in this place. He recognized this as the stage where everyone was looking for a reason to have said fights.

Mastema wouldn't stray very far from Nana for a while. Similar to Nana, he hadn't really spoken with anyone tonight, save for Twilight who had approached him, the same for Tegral. There were a few other people he could fraternize with, not the least of which was the Count himself. Of course, there were also his biggest fans in the room, Kaiori's family.

"I suppose the appeaser is the last one the crocodile eats." Not to be blunt this time, Thanatos left it to the metaphor to pronounce his meaning. "I understand that you have an alliance of sorts with Twice Royal. While I don't think it's bad that you have some friends around, I would be careful about Twice Royal's 'leader,' as I'll call him." For one reason or another, Than had problems with referring to Griffin as a prince. "I don't believe there's any reason to worry about him personally, but I'll say I don't think he could protect you much if things got bad."

~.~;
....I-- think I'm better now.

*Slowly rising from her chair, Nana would stand and look about the room briefly. Thanatos was conversing with the host now, and KB was still out of sight. Spotting Mastema, Nana would begin to wander over, her drink was left behind*

KB nodded, then turn to the side. "Whassat?" He asked the air, stumbling a little before righting himself. "Oh... Ok. What? Stop talking out loud?... Oh... Ok." He acknowledged, before blinking at the doormen. The drunk young man then straightened himself, wiping some dirt off his coat in an attempt to seem professional. "Err, where was I?" He asked them.

Kyslith looked between the doormen and K.B. and back again. She was utterly confused at the turn of events. "What's....wrong..Kaybee?" she asked, still huddled behind him as though to shield herself from the crowd inside. Regardless of her lack of understanding toward the current situation, the ghoul was becoming annoyed with the intricacies of these people. She stepped back a bit from K.B., the doormen, and the party inside.

Looking about for a moment, Baptistain realized that Bertuccio was nowhere in sight. They had their bit of fun, now it was time to get back to work. "Oop, looks like its time for me to get back to the grind stone. Maybe catch you later, see ya." Giving a slight wave, Baptistain would be off again headed towards the front door like Bertuccio. Bertuccio was the first to arrive of course, and came upon two bewildered replacement doormen. "What seems to be the problem?" The two doormen would jump, then turn to Bertuccio, one would relay the happenings at the door. "Well sir, this, um... lady here was looking for a bit of help, which we gave her, and then--" The second doormen would continue. "Then this guy came out here from inside, I think he may be drunk. He wants to bring her inside, and started to demand a dress, but she does not seem so willing. We have no idea what to do." Their voices were low enough to keep the inebriated KB ignorant of the conversation, as well as the ghoul. To Kyslith, Bertuccio must seem a large and frightening man. Much larger and well built than the other two doormen who had fed her earlier, not the kind of guy you wanted to tangle with, even if he was only a human. KB on the other hand might have liked seeing Bertuccio again, he seemed to like him, perhaps more now that he was drunk. Bertuccio would have to think over the situation carefully, the ghoul clearly was not dressed for such a party, and there was nothing here to put her in, plus she had no invitation. KB was drunk as a skunk, and seemed to be acking sillier than before, perhaps he would be easier to handle. A desicion had to be made, so Bertuccio would walk up to the edge of the steps to address KB and the ghoul. "That is a good question. I believe you were about to go back inside to enjoy the party with the Mrs. Knight, she is surely waiting for you."

Back inside The Count would continue to speak with Thanatos. "I have business ties within the city, yes, and I have spoken with the young lord, but why would I need protection? From whom?" Having a few shares in the markets was not really what one would call an alliance, nor a friendly ship ride through the stars. The Count was merely testing the waters persee throughout the region, this party was also similar, finding out who was around, what their personalities were like. No one really had a reason to hold a grudge against The Count, or a need to attack him. It seemed an illogical course of action, as far as logic went in the region, or lack there of. The Count was getting a good idea of Thanatos's personality though, from the moment he arrived, began interacting, talking, and gesturing.

"Mrs... Oh! Kai! Yeeeeaah." KB nodded to the familiar doorman, thinking for a moment. "Did she get her drink?" He asked, finding his footing with only a slight stumbling motion. Such a state would be momentarily offset by him taking a deep breath, trying to clear his head sort of. For the life of him he couldn't really remember why he'd left the party in the first place. Unable to formulate an answer in that instant, he would turn to the ghoul-lady and wave. "Bye-bye!" He exclaimed in departure, before taking the first of a few steps that sent him stumbling off into a nearby bush.

"****!"

As Bertuccio approached the doorway, Kyslith shrank back. He looked more the type to run her down, and the Doormen's distress worried her even more. She looked over at K.B. once again, he'd fallen into the plants and seemed to be fairly useless for any kind of defense. Kyslith backed up a little further. "Kah!...You!...Back!", she warned, pulling out her pathetic spade and pointing it at Bertuccio. She glanced back toward the field of toxic flowers from whence she crossed. Could she really run accross that poisonous field if they decided to chase her?
PostPosted: Thu Nov 15, 2007 12:30 pm

"Yes, she did." A simple answer to KB's question, about Kaiori's drink arrival. Baptistain would arrive just in time to watch KB topple over into the bush below* "......drunk?" It was the first thing that sprang to mind. "You could say that." It was mildly amusing that was for sure, and nothing beats free entertainment. About then Kyslith's attitude had changed, and she was pointing a weapon of sorts at Bertuccio, the man obviously took notice. "Hmm?" Just what was she doing? Kyslith would likely note the new arrival aswell, though this one was smaller in build, and half a foot shoter, he still looked just as dangerous. "What do we have here now? Hey girly! I would be putting that thing away. You got no reason for it here." Kyslith was now out-numbered 4 to 1, perhaps she would pay heed to Baptistain's words and stand down, if not she really might be chased, her worst fear.

Kyslith had begun to lose hope of getting past the flowers safely. "Who...are..you?", she asked Bertuccio, lowering her spade a bit. "Kaybee...Sick?", she questioned, looking down at the tangle of bush, coat, and man.
She dropped her spade in a sudden realization. "Soo-ry", she said once again. She remembered that it was these same people that had just earlier provided her with a life saving meal.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 19, 2007 3:39 pm

"Hmm?" Bertuccio would blink at the waif, for a moment before Baptistain butted in. "We work here with our master, The Count of Monte Cristo, and no the guy aint sick, he is what you would call, drunk. Had a bit too much alcohol." Bertuccio would cough into his closed fist, an 'ahem' would be heard before he finally responded again. "That is quite all right." It looked like Kyslith was forgiven, it was not like a spade was all to threatening, to the pair. Waving them off Bertuccio would send the replacement doormen back to the party, they could serve better there, but would wait for KB to be given to them to bring inside. "We Will get him back inside in a minute." Of course Bertuccio was speaking of KB. A bit of coffee or water running through his system and he would be ok in a few minutes.

"Count?" Kyslith questioned. " Who.. is...Moonty Crisssto?", She had difficulty putting the name together. She cocked her head like so much a confused dog. She looked again at K.B., "Heeey, Kaybee!", she shouted.
She then lookedto Baptistain, "Want I...Should Go?", she motioned behind her to the open field.

The party inside still didn't make sense to her, and these men didn't seem to approve of her looks. She didn't understand, she wasn't naked or anything. She then managed to put together the concept that everyone here was wearing frilly, shiny, or otherwise extravegant clothing. That, and they all seemed to be associated with one another.

Well, at least no one was chasing her.
