Yuugi now was frozen stiff...light...It was completely dark outside! They would have to wait until morning for any bit of sunlight. The tears in his eyes welled up until they started to fall. His best friend was likely to die, and he felt like there was nothing he could do to help.

"Why did you do this?" he asked, his purple eyes darting from Jou towards Marik. "He did nothing to you" His voice was forced, pain filled every note as he spoke.

Marik turned away from Bakura again. The man would be no threat for awhile as he mulled over his lover''s fate. "Nothing? I beg to differ." Two strong, tan arms folded themselves up over Mariks'' chest casually. "He tried to interfere. He was becoming a nuisence. And you have admit, it''s blissfully quiet now with him... resting." A flicker of amusement in those cold eyes. They turned to the blonde, then back to Yuugi with a small shrug. "I prefer him this way."

Jou whimpered. He couldn''t even feel the rug beneath his body, it was getting so cold... and the warmth that had been holding him before was now gone. Gone away. A violent shudder ran throughout his body, and he began to curl up to try and preserve what heat he still had.

Marik turned his attention back on Bakura, looking almost thoughtful. He had an idea. "Would you like to prepare another trade, thief?" His haed tilted to one side, making him look almost innocently curious. "Your pup''s life for... something else?"

"Anything! Just don't let him die! He doesn't deserve this!" Bakura's voice was urgent and still panicky. He went back over to Jou as he curled up and hugged in again, trying to keep him warm. Hopefully the heat from his own body would keep him alive longer.

Jou leaned into Bakura's warmth, the cold subsiding. Just a little, but it did help.

Marik smirked, his tongue flicking out over his lips. "What indeed... well, what could you have that I could possibly want?" He watched Bakura's facial expressions carefully, reveling in the emotions. Worry, fear, anxiety. Lovely...

"It's all that you can really give me, my little tomb robber." He paused. The silence swirled around them, filling up the empty spaces until he spoke again.

"You."

Bakura's head snapped up to look at the dark spirit. "M-me?....you want me? Why do you want me?" Bakura looked up at him in confusion for a little bit before shaking his head. No whatever he wanted...i-it didn't matter as long as Jounouchi lived. "A-alright, just make him better!" he shouted up at Marik.

Marik continued to show off his self-assured smirk. He had known that Bakura would say that. People in love... people who cared... they were all so easy to manipulate. Putty in your fingers. "Then do this... take the boy outside." A mere glance in Yuugi's direction followed. "And you are to accompany him there. You stay out with the pup until the sun shows itself again. And by then..." The eyes settled on Bakura, looking him over with a pleasured stare. "We will have already become scarce... oh. And why, you ask?" Marik chuckled, ever so amused. He almost felt like he was talking to a child. "For my own reasons, of course."

Bakura felt a shiver run down his spine. Marik was planning that, wasn't he? Bakura could already sense it. As reluctant as he was, the last thing he wanted was for Jounouchi to die because of his selfishness. Bakura swallowed, nodded and looked over towards Yuugi.

"I'm glad to see that we understand each other," Marik purred, not moving a muscle, but rather opting to stay still as he was. Why waste energy when you were already the clear victor? He was starting to grow weary of it all at this point anyway. Time to retreat for awhile and celebrate over what he had won. "So, now... say good-bye to your pet, my dear thief. And please, don't drag it out."

Bakura sighed and kissed Jounouchi on the head and did headed the dark spirit's order. For Bakura did not want to upset him furthur not knowing what else he might do to his poor poisioned lover. "Get better Jounouchi....I'll be back in a while you just take care of yourself until then." With that bakura got up and took a few wary steps over towards Marik, not looking forward to what was to come for him at all.

All the while Jou, still laying in a deeply unconcious state, barely heard Bakura's words. He did hear and understand, to some extent; but most of his mind's functions were with keeping the the cold away. It was eating at him, threatening to consume his entire form. All he could really do anymore was wait.

"Mm, good... nice and short. You follow orders well." A hand was extended out for Bakura to take, half-lidded eyes regarding the former tomb robber's every move. "Now come, Bakura."

Bakura glared at Marik's extended hand and his body language was telling marik that he refused to accept it. Bakura went and stood by him but that was all he was going to do of his own free will.

Bakura then looked over at yuugi and in as strong and a threaning voice as he could manage at the moment he spoke to the shorter boy. "You had better take care of him Yuugi and make sure he doesn't die otherwise I'll be after your head again."

Marik's eyes narrowed at Bakura's little act of defiance. The former tomb robber wouldn't be disobedient in the future, and Marik would make sure of that. Already, the Sennen Rod had begun to vibrate softly in his hand. It wouldn't be long, and it wouldn't take long to manipulate Bakura just enough... just enough so that he would look at Marik in a much different way.

It would just take time, and Marik was convinced that he had all the time in the world.

"So angry, Bakura..." his voice was smooth, confident, and still tinged with the ever-present darkness. "but we can fix that." A small smirk, and then his own hand had grabbed Bakura's wrist in a tight, cold grasp. His eyes watched Bakura's face, the smirk on his face carrying the message of his amusement... the dark promise that hung behind those words.

With a flick of his wrist, the wall behind Marik's body seemed to open. The doorway was pure darkness, radiating cold that both he and Bakura had already become accustomed to. "Good bye, precious little royal host... I will be back." He began to turn, pulling Bakura along with him, keeping his darkened eyes on Yuugi. "You have my word."

Bakura grimaced at Marik's words and had to fight the urg to pull his hand back. Everything about Marik disgusted the tomb robber and Bakura was already starting to regret this deal. Maybe he could have haggled his way out of it? His mind set at the time was on Jounouchi and the theif was still very worried over the blond and his condition.

Stepping through the portal, Marik spared one last glance at Yuugi before grinning at Bakura almost wickedly. "Don't blink, little thief." And then, all at once, they were gone. The door in the wall sealed itself up behind them, leaving no trace of its ever having been there.

Outside, the rain completely ceased, and the clouds began to move.

Inside of the portal, the air was like ice. Barely breathable, if you had to worry over that sort of thing. The journey only lasted a few seconds, but when it was done, the effects could defiantely be felt. Even Marik, with all his newfound strength, felt a little winded. Not that his expression showed it. Darkness-tainted eyes scanned their drab surroundings before looking back at Bakura, a small smirk once again taking its place in his features. "Welcome to your home, pet."

It took a few moments for Bakura to adjust to the new atmosphere. The theif's head whipped around to glare at Marik when he heard his little comment. "I am not your 'pet' Marik!" Bakura snapped and growled at the dark spirit.
