"If you say so," Serenity smiled, relieved in a way. "But if you want to rest, or have something to eat, just tell me - we can stop any time."

"I will," Kara nodded with a promise, "Don't mind me, I've just been more tippy toe lately than before," she told Serenity.

Serenity smiled with amusement. "It's the wings, isn't it?" she laughed softly. "I always feel that way for the first while after I've been a bird - and the longer I was in that form, the longer the feeling lasts."
She pointed just ahead of them, at a large clump of trees that was growing at the base of one of the mountains.
"That's where the cave is," she smiled, "though you can't see the entrance until we're much much closer."

Kara nodded with a pout, "But I can't fly, and there's no one to teach me, the Seconds use more magic than actual wings with their wing size so that doesn't count...."
She looked up to where Serenity had pointed taking a few hops and noticed it.
"I wonder if it's changed any since we've been there..."

"Since the last time you were there, yes," Serenity smiled. "Though since the last time I was there - not likely. I was there only two nights ago, so unless some animal has taken up residency since then - unlikely - it'll be the same as then."
She laughed and led the way towards the cave.

Kara giggled at that, "True true, I don't know why I asked, maybe just curious that's all...."
She followed Serenity humming a bit as she looked around, gathering sights she couldn't see before.

Serenity led Kara directly through a patch of brightly coloured flowers that hadn't been in bloom the last time they had been there together, laughing as she went.
"Well, as a general rule," she admitted, "caves don't really change ... and to be honest I'm not really sure what it is that's changed about it - I just know that it has. For all I know, it could be in the way that I look at it now." She shrugged.

Kara closed her eyes and took a deep breath, taking in all the other little things. Besides she was blind the last time, so it stood to reason.
"I didn't smell these before," she replied opening her eyes and looking at the flowers, stepping lighlty.

Serenity smiled. "Probably not. They're a summer flower, and you were here just before winter hit. I'm told they have some useful properties or other, but I don't know of them ... just that they smell so wonderful."
Like the flowers her husband had used to give to her. Small wonder then that she chose to spend a lot of her time here when the flowers were in bloom.

Kara smiled and nodded, "Yea... all that snow while we were in the forest, I can't forget that," she murmured as she watched her steps.

Serenity shook her head incredulously. "I still can't believe the barrier you and Donovan put up," she murmured. "That was just amazing ..."
As soon as they were through the flowers, the mouth of the cave became visible - even obvious. Serenity nodded self-satisfactorily and ducked inside, leading the way.
It was pretty light inside, considering that it was after all a cave. But that was most likely due to the fact that it was midday. In general, the cave was exactly as it had been the last time the two women had been there together: there was the spring, the stream, the smooth, flat floor, the walls ... and no sign that anyone had been there in years, let alone two days ago.
But still, to Serenity, coming back to the cave felt like coming home. Sad, really.
She looked at Kara curiously to see her reaction. After all, the angel had been blind the last time she had been there ...

Kara eyes lit up at the sight of the cave, she had simply shrugged at Serenity's earlier comment. It wasn't that hard, she had the energy more or less to, and Donovan, well Donovan's ability to create seals were handy for something more than assisnating.
She looked around the cave and even peered into the stream.
"So these were the fishes that Wish ended up hunting," she giggled.

Serenity laughed. "Yeah, I guess they are. They're here year-round, probably because of the spring."
She hadn't really thought about it before, to be honest.
"How is Wish doing, anyways?" she asked curiously. "And Jin and Triton?"

"Triton is doing fine," Kara smiled, "Far more travel wise than when he started out, which is good, I think he should be ready for whatever tasks comes his way."
Or that he has decided, some things ever change Kara thought to herself, but at least he was more aware, and Donovan was helping too.
"Jin is starting to speak, since it's only been a few months for us," Kara laughed a bit, "Wish is doing well, she likes to watching the events in the family. The last month or two was interesting."

"What's been happening?" Serenity asked curiously, leaving the cave for a moment to take a few leaves from a plant that was growing right beside the cave's mouth. She returned to Kara quickly and handed her a few of them as she waited for her answer.
