Houka made a sound at the back of her throat - a snort? Maybe - at this statement. "That much is obvious," she drawled, washing up as well and drying her hands on a paper towel. Reaching up and back, she re-did her hair - the clamp had come loose at one point - tucking back stray strands that had escaped their 'binding'. "Even in that place you were a bit fidgety when you had to wait for something."
The auburn-haired girl grinned a bit, teasingly, then gestured towards the bathroom. "Why don't you have a go?" she suggested, thinking a good shower would do the trick.
Needless to say, she was warming up to her would-be teammate, if only a little. Never mind that her bitbeast had reduced her to a blubbering idiot in their first battle, but then it wasn't likely they'd face each other again. Houka couldn't help smirking at the thought of a similar thing happening to one of their opponents. And then there was Miki, with her obvious desire to impress her brother. She was sweet thing, but inclined to get hurt far too often, Medaea's partner gathered. One thing was certain: the team she'd found herself on was definitely an interesting one.

One eyebrow rose in disbelief at this, but the emotion was there just for a fleeting moment. Kai doubted his sister had seen this, giving a small wry smile when she turned back to him after helping herself to croquettes and rigatoni.
"Let's eat," she'd said, and eat they did. Again, habits kicked in and Kai fell silent, glancing up once in a while to gaze surreptitiosly at Miki, her words playing again and again in his head. For having been experimented on, the side effects were slight. She hadn't said anything about being disposed to 'lose her mind', or something less appealing, only that she'd become sickly. While more favorable than insanity, it did mean she'd have to be careful and watch her health that much more closely. He would, too, alongside her.
He was done after after a while - he wasn't that hungry - and brought his plate and cutlery to the sink. He'd take care of the dishes later; for now, there was the matter of contacting a certain blue-haired teammate regarding the tournament. As the maroon-eyed teen passed the table again, he reached out, ruffling Miki's hair a bit. "Thanks again, Miki," He didn't think he'd have to mention what for; his twin would understand.
Moving into the living room, he took out the phone book and flipped it open to the 'H' listings, running his finger down until he came to 'Hiyomura'.
Having memorized the number, he crossed to the phone and dialed, waiting for someone to pick up.

A dull, but insistent ringing sound permeated the music currently permeating the room, and Kei went for the door, flinging it open much to the surprise of her friends, who all fairly shouted their surprise, stumbling backwards.
"Sorry!" Kei called over her shoulder as she reached for the phone. She was expecting a call from her one of her parents - she could tell them goodbye, at least, were she to leave before they got back home - and so was uncharacteristically eager to answer. "Hai, Hiyomura desu."
"Kai here."
At this, amethyst eyes widened a bit, and Kei hoped her voice didn't sha- wait, what the hell was she thinking? "Ah. Kai-san. I've been wanting to get in touch with you, but your phone's unlisted..."
"Hm. Have you heard from the BBA about the tournament?"
Kei felt a smirk cross her features; she'd been expecting this kind of directness. She didn't think the phoenix blader was one to call just to chat, nor did he beat around the bush. Unconsciously she nodded, forgetting he couldn't see her. "Yes, I have. Seems they sent the information through email..." Here she proceeded to cite from memory what she'd read in said email, ending with "...but I'm not sure when we have to leave. I can check with the BBA early tomorrow, though."
"I'll see you there, then."
"So you can pass the info to Ivanov and the others. Right." Kei had no illusions as regarded the slate-haired teen's reasons, and wasn't about to entertain them. "In any case, I'm glad you called..."

Kai shook his head, inwardly rolling his eyes at Hiyomura's comment. "Whatever. Ja na." With that, he cradled the receiver, and then re-entered the kitchen.
"The tournament's starting earlier than we expected, Miki," he said, without preamble. "I suggest we start packing. We'll tell Diana and Kurozuki about it, too; they're your teammates, after all."
