((In wich case, the near-death experience would be...hmm...it must be when Kalios 'enters' him. It has to hurt, bringing an aged mind into your body. I have an idea. The below post can be rejected if bad))
Sora's body shivered several times, causing his body to now lay down on the ground, without the support of the pedestal, as the energy's wake attacked him. His eyes instantly flickered open, but he did not see the green canopy of the enchanted forest. He saw the cave, then the clearing, with familiar faces in the background. He saw Kalios, May, and Alianae...but he couldn't see Kalco. His back arched, and he felt the pain the first key felt, when he bound himself so stringintly to the Will's Magicks. Then...another pain...more familiar, this one.
There were the lights and spells of the Agaeti Blodhren, sumperimposed on many other scenes of other people, so unfamiliar to him, then his words. Words he made willingly, using the energy so freely available in the air around him. A sharp pain stabbed at his mind, and he felt his mental 'fingers' join together to create an entrance for the presence. It pulled at his own energies, and his memory's knees collapsed. He then heard the voice of a former Key. The words were ignored by the stab of pain. Then all was calm. His fingers tingled, and his brain was full of energy, but when he opened his eyes, he saw the green of the canopy, the ray of light that shined down. It meant only one thing to him now. Hope.
((Well? If it's accepted, and it turns out the other Key's words are needed, I can make him 'remember' them))

((Yes, an excellent post. Which gives me the tingling of an idea..No, don't look at me like that. xd ))Alianae stood and walked over to Sora. "You made it. I knew you would. How does it feel? Knowing, I mean. Hope is the one which binds the Wardens, holds them together through thick and thin." she said softly, kneeling down besides him. "Hope..the one flame which never dies, and thus the one who needs to be protected the most. Do you understand now? Hope is our key."((I think by now you have my line of thought. Now I shall explain myself. Alanae said there were five Wardens. Remember Sarea is one and the same with herself. So it was a part truth. A rando bit of knowledge is this: Alianae or Sarea cannot speak an untruth in Alalea or an elven place, no matter what language. She wasn't allowed to reveal Sora until it was sure because otherwise, hope would fail. When talking about the Wardens, Alianae said 'And we all stand here now.' which could be interpreted in two ways. If I look back, there's a part to me which makes no sense. Alianae tels Sora he's the Key. Sora thinks he's the key to unlocking Kalios' memories. She actually said, "All those memories." And when the Key buried his knowledge inside, Quote: This key, he buried within himself, just as the Wardens knowledge had been buried. Once again, that can be interpreted in two ways. Don't forget Sarea bit back a part of the tale that she otherwise might have said. Wow..it seems I plan ahead for these things without knowing. blaugh ))

Sora looked at Alianae, and heard dozens of voices in his mind chime in at the same time. The images flashing through his head were all the same, in fact. The green clearing, the golden pedestal, and Alianae, standing above them. The response was always 'I don't know'. The trails usually ended in failure, and he decided it was time to change that. He wasn't going to be another one of the Keys, going through the same notions, failing each time. No, he was going to be the one that History would remember for aeons on end. "I know that Hope binds the Wardens together, but I don't understand," he said. So maybe he wouldn't be that different, but it was a continuation of the start. What was the start for him you ask? Well...the other Keys didn't happen to have Kalios on hand did they?
Kalios felt the Magick brace through his system, as his mind opened up, the many doors hidden in the fog, the shade obscuring pathways to light. Several evident doorways to darkness opened as well, showing the shade caused by obstruction of the light. Then the obstruction opened, causing an evil laugh to fill his mind, and compel his voice, making the forest echo with the vocal manifestation of evil, hidden in the midsts of the Warden.
((OK. So you're saying Sora is not just a key, but a Warden as well? OK. Well, Kalios' murderous feelings before must have been caused by something, and the mixture of Sora and May(or Minae, I don't remember)'s inadvertent Magicks might have locked up what was causing those feelings, until Sora and Kalios were weakened by Alia's sickening effects on them. Then the Shade escaped, and snuck into Kalco's mind as Du Fet Kithyen, and then manifesting himself as Kalios' attacker. Then, when Kalco killed it in his mind, it was desperately weakened, and went back to rest in Kalios' mind, being a bit free, still. It wasn't sensed because it was so familiar. Then in the tunnel, before it could fully recover and wreck havoc, it was locked up by the walls, which were designed as such. That would have to mean that the seal in the original imprisonment was broken from the beginning, as there weren't enough Wardens to do it properly, and it snuck into his mind and made him forget, then was abated when Sora summoned him inside his mind. And now it wants Minasia because if he sneaks into her, he gets a free ticket to the Alalean throne, but he hasn't been able to so far because she and May protect their minds in a mutual relationship....
So...good new plot twist?))

((Perfect. mrgreen Couldn't have put it better myself (especially since I didn't look that far..) I wonder how we always manage to twist things from the past..I'm just going to wind Alianae's words round and round..You'll see how the others happened to fail.))
Alianae smiled softly. "From the start, there were not five but six. But instead of six, it was always shown as five. Two of the six are one and the same, split to cover for the real fifth. The fifth who bound the five, or the six as you may choose to call it. The fifth was decided to be presented as a sorceror, one who bound the five on orders and then sealed the knowledge within. But he sealed more than the knowledge, he sealed his own identity. The one key to the Five, the last, the hope. For only the one who bound them, could undo his own bidding. But not until the time was right.
But two of the Five, or the six, joined together. And at times, they were also one and the same. So by rights, there could be claimed that there were only four. And as time wore on, two of the four became as one would, uniting as the Three in the very Beggining. And so, by rights there were Three. And three is the number.
So tell me now and here. How many of the Five stand in this clearing?"
((I'm interested as to what answer you give, really.))

((Wow...I'm going to have to think...))
Sora listened to her words, almost clinging to each. The magic in the clearing must have isolated him from Kalios' evil laugh. He thought over her words, then looked up. "Well, of the Five, there are...three...he said. You and Sarea are so closely bound that you can actually sense her presence here...and then Kalios, even though he's being abnormally silent. However, if what you are saying is true, then of the Six, there are four, and if you look at it from a certain point of view, part of all six are in this clearing, in the pedestal, even if I supposedly drained it. There are still vast resevoires in there for the other three that haven't harvested it," he said.
Kalios arched his back when he felt Minae's presence enter him. He felt the other presence as well. The Shade. It was haunting his thoughts, adding morbid thoughts of despair and depression. "Is that you, Minae?" Minae was acting as a counterbalance, though. She was lighting the corridors in his mind. Then the forest blacked out, replaced by an underground corridor, not unlike the one of the tunnel to Ellesmera. Except one side of the path was filled with light, and the other was full of darkness. He looked up and saw Minae's attacks against the Shade, and quickly ran over to her side, the light.

((You say that as if you were suprised.. xd But, Alianae would have said it like that..all twisted with little bits added in to throw people off..and fast too. Think of it this way, any answer you gave would have been both correct and incorrect. You had to say all of it, as you just did, to be entierly correct. I think I had other answers in store too..One of mine was three.))
Alianae smiled. "You are correct. The first since the very first to truly grasp a full knowledge and understanding of it all. The time has come. Follow me."
She walked towards two of the trees which were fuller and greener than the others in the clearing. They separated together, forming a small, tight path. Beyond this..well, nobody knew. Only the Wardens had ever passed through this aboveground tunnel and their memories, for the most part, were still supressed. Thin vines around the entrance turned to gold, forming ancient glyphs.
Evil will be confronted, the Wardens rise again.

Sora looked at the glyphs, and then at Alianae. "Please tell me you know what's through the tunnel," he said, then looked as the glyphs glittered, and the tunnel's walls began to glow slightly. Not distractingly enough, but enough to see a path...one that twisted before revealing what was on the other side.

'Kalios!, she roared wit her mind, not pleased with his reaction. Stand up and fight! You once called upon this soul, you're the only able to push it back from the hell it came! I can lend you my strength when you run low, I can help you stand when energy lacks, but other than that, I'm afraid you stand alone, my friend'
Slowly, her vision of the world blurred and swirled around, obstructing her view... Before she found herself in the same tunnel... but this time, the blows she took, she felt them. The shade she was fighting was no longer just a spirit to her, but far more than that. She now had to fight the shade for REAL. As the fine blade struck her left arm, she held back a gut-wrenching scream and let her sword drop to the ground, holding her right arm to the bleeding wound.
'Kalios, do something! I can take in the fact that I might die, but not for protecting a coward!'

((Uh..let's see..when did you last post..Okay, they went out of the tunnel, Sora was dying and got healed by Islanzadi's healers who left later. Minae revealed she had a dragon, Ingothold..got mad and stormed off. Alianae led Sora to a clearing where he had to reclaim a part of his memory..and found out he isn't just a key, he's a Warden. The Warden of Hope. There are five or six wardens however you see it. Kalios got pulled into Sora's mind...and the shade which was a part of Kalios is free?? Very general assumption idea..you REALLY should read the last page and this one..there's too much to explain.))
"I know this is meant to be. through this tunnel, we watch and wait. The shade has been loosed. There is nothing we can do unless.." she faded away, leaving the end of her sentence trailing. "The Wardens cannot be one unless evil is met, confronted and dealt with. That's why there were three and the thre became not one. Come now, or we will lose Minasia and perhaps Kalios too."

((Sorry...too much going on IRL))
Kalios listened to Minae's words, a sort of energy building up inside of him. It was pure spite. It bubbled in him until it filled his ears. He was about to step out into the open, when he remembered why he couldn't defeat him last time. He wouldn't be able to. Nobody who had him in their mind could. Kalco couldn't defeat him as Du Fet Kithyen, and Kalios couldn't destroy him before. And he could only be harmed through on a mental battlefield...and if Kalios couldn't kill him... that left one option.
"Minasia!" he yelled. "You're the only one who can defeat him! I can't do it. I can only channel you all of my energy!"
Sora looked at Alianae, then at the tunnel, and followed her inside. He could hear faint cries from ahead, but could not urge his legs to move faster. Magick had flooded the floor, making his legs seem to be walking through mud. But he could feel the Magick redirecting the tunnel, leading it somewhere that no tunnel in Alagaesia or Alalea could lead to.

'Damn it all!! Then fine, I'll die. And why would that be? Because you'Re too much of a coward to take care of the life of the only one that would've risked it for you...'
She sighed then turned around as the shade lept in front of her and held his thin blade to her throat.
'A wise choice indeed, my dear princess' she said, speaking in a snake-ish voice. 'But still... Why suffer for one such as him? I pity to let a mind such as yours fall into darkness; Together, we could do great things, we could...'
'ENOUGH! Délaisse le mari et retourne dans l'enfer d'où tu est venu!!'
The words, unknown to her, flowed out of her mouth like water spewing from a fountain. Before she knew it, she found herself limp and tired of the forests' leafy floor, gasping for air as she slowly fell into a recovering slumber.
((So... The words are japanese; let's say it'S some ancient langueage... ninja ))
2009 EDIT; Changed the japanese for french. Izzy said she liked it better that way. c:
