F*cking stubborn puppy! Hisoka let the anger fill him, let it try to drown out the chill of emptiness where for a moment or two there had been such strong emotions before they'd been destroyed. "Tsuzuki, drop it. I don't want to talk about it."

"...You don't have to."
End scene. That's a wrap. You don't have to talk either. Just don't go anywhere.

But if I open the door you'll see... Hisoka knew his eyes were still bloodshot from crying so hard at the loss... It was hard enough to have to deal with it, but to have Tsuzuki on the other side of that door, his caring... Hisoka didn't know if he could handle the intense emotions Tsuzuki always brought with him.
"Just... go. Please, Tsuzuki."

And leave you alone again? Hm... no.
"I'll bring you coffee later, then."
Tsuzuki fell silent and stood still, walking far, far away in his imagination and hoping Hisoka might, if only for a second, believe himself alone. He could wait.

Hisoka glared pointedly at the door. Never try to lie to an Empath who's already attuned to you when he's already upset. Just... don't. It makes for a bad next encounter.
Storming to the door and flinging it open-- at this point far beyond caring what anyone saw or thought (until the emotions hit him, of course)-- Hisoka glared at the puppy. "Fine-- what do you want?" he demanded.

Luckily for Tsuzuki's nose, bedroom doors don't usually open out.
"Want? I want to know what's going on. I think I'd like that to happen without getting into an argument, but those two don't always line up the way you prefer them to." Hands in his pockets, he watched his partner closely, cautiously--there'd been tears here.
...Something wrong. "But whatever I want or like isn't really that important. You okay?" simple question, answer known, but that didn't stop the need to hear one, whether it be truth or not, bad or good, respectively.

Hisoka's only response was a snarl and a glare at Tsuzuki before the kitten whirled around, slamming the door shut and moving back to his bed and hiding himself again. Stupid, stupid, stupid puppy! Hisoka couldn't handle all of this right now.
...at least distracted kittens don't lock doors.

And at least Tsuzuki was paying attention. To invade or to... it really did feel like an invasion, an intrusion at this point. But he couldn't just leave him, not alone, not with himself. He couldn't ask what Hisoka wanted either, because that was going to get him another snarl. Things had never been easy, had they?
But what was there to do? Can't leave him alone, can't bother him either. Damned if you do, damned if you don't--damned anyway. Softly, slowly, Tsuzuki opened the door and peered into the room.

Hisoka burrowed deeper into his sheets. Souls just wanted to be free, to exist again... and then wiped out of any hope of any life here or on the other side by a beast, a fiery hulk of a monster destroying them, devouring them... was that what it would be like if a Shinigami's soul was eaten? That... nothingness?
He didn't want to think about that now, didn't want to consider the possible consequences...

All that anger, all the snarls just disappeared every time the boy hit the sheets, didn't they? Only in place of that touch of adorability you could sometimes trace in sleeping features, there was only... vulnerability. Fragility. Nothing tender and soft, just brittle and prone to being dropped and broken. It was times like this Tsuzuki really hated being clumsy.
Carefully, he closed the door behind him, frowning slightly at the sound it made when catching in its rightful place, as if disappointed that it should make itself heard. Just as carefully, he made his way over to the bed, leaning over slightly, cautiously, reaching that infinite distance to brush fingers for the tiniest moment over a fragile shoulder blade.
"Still here."
That always seemed to be the promise, these days...

Hisoka felt part of himself melt at those words, that delicate touch... then again, it was always like this with Tsuzuki. One of them would pull away, break a little... and the other would be there, insisting they wouldn't leave. It was their unspoken agreement, what held them together, this forced and yet altogether natural give and take.
It wasn't fair to do this to Tsuzuki all the time. It just... wasn't. The boy knew this, knew that Tsuzuki cared, and that's why he was still there. But somehow... somehow they ended back at this place every single time, this unfathomable distance between them, filled with everything they didn't, or couldn't find the words to say.
Turning over slowly, Hisoka's tormented green eyes rose cautiously to take in Tsuzuki. The puppy dog was gone, replaced by the gentle caring, that pillar of seemingly infinite strength Hisoka had learned to rely on...
"...I felt them die again."

Somehow, despite all the pain that poured out of those eyes, that curve of that mouth, it was so much better than nothing at all. Worse yet, the anger and the door between. It was just better when they were trying to reach each other, or at least allowing things to pass between them.
Regrettably, he had little to know idea what the hell Hisoka was talking about, only the certainty it was everything to do with their mission. Not that that mattered anymore, this kind of... He was still so fragile! Always so broken! "...Who?"

"...the souls." Called back to the world of the living through some unholy magic, and then gone again, only worse than before because before there was a semblance of hope... now there was nothing. "People... their souls brought back for a moment before they were eaten."

The question was, did he want this guy knowing where he lived? Of course, he didn't think this, it's just the writer's concern, "Well, I'm still lost, despite you helping me find a mall, so, would you?" It was above him to use manners, I'm afraid.

Seishirou laughed. "Of course, Gazali-san-- it would be my pleasure. If memory serves me right, Miss Ed's home would be this way..."
Seishirou headed in a direction not entirely unlike the way they appeared to have come.
