Salanica watched them leave, feeling slightly at ease now that the rooftops were empty, giving her time to clear her head and think her life through. She felt slightly homesick, her stomach churning from her lack of contact with her family, and with only her friend for company.
"What I would give to have more friends now..." Salanica sighed to herself, twisting the endsof her hair around her finger gently.

Mai gawked at her for a second, before puting her hands on her hips and said in mocking anger," What am I? A slice of grilled cheese?"

Without watching or looking, he leaped over the edge of the roof top and landed only inches away from what the looks of it was a very shy girl. He landed with a loud thud and stood up, the sun blaring in his eyes. He lifted a hand to the sun and a shadow fell over his eyes. He looked down at the two and muttered what was supposed to be "Sorry." Although from past experience he knew that when he was talking to strangers his words were mostly inaudible.

Her timid steps stood still close to an metallica door. Her ears twitched when she heard someone referal themselves as an grill cheese sandwich. "Why would anyone think of themselves as food?" She thought. She thought the kids nowdays were so into what cool and what worthy status to place upon their personality. Not some type of food Fear in the maiden eyes made her right foot step back, but curosity in her heart made her hand push the cold steel door open. The doors creak from the rusty hinges. Kimiko knew the door missed a couple of oil but she wasn't here to inspect the school. She was there to learn about the background, the history and the creatures who'd stay in this school. As she stood outside the doorway, the sun greeted her soft face and her thick black rimmed glasses like a ray of joy, but being Kimiko.
She instantly blocked the warm rays and walked away from the door. Each steps she took felt like ball and chain was attached to her legs. She was afraid and stiff. Watching her surrounding like an owl in the darkness. Her soft raven dance in the cool winds around just like her plaid green skirt. Every once in a while...her hand will reach up and straighten her glasses. She could hear the two woman talking near the front entrance of the roof. Kimko thought it was best if she stay in the back and read her books. Such a foolish woman. She took a seat by the door where no one can see her when they open the door. She sat the book down on her lap, opens the book to chapter 13 and continues to read with her head inside the book.

Ray almost seemed to forget he was standing there. Almost. He stalked off towards the nearest door, trying to avoid the sun. It wasn't like his vampire side would show up any moment, it's just that he's always kindof been bugged by the sun. He remembered when he was a kid he used to climb up the nearest building and wish for the stars to twinkle. He would wish for the stars to fill the sky with an awe inspiring brilliance. But the stars never came. And he would never know what stars would ever be like, because that fateful night, when his vampiric side took over, he never would have that chance to see the stars ever again.
And when he approached the door, he thought he heard a small voice. But his brain didn't register. He flung the door open -in the style he usually did, to the hinges' limits- But something bumped against it, like a giant door stop. He was about to go on his way with a care less but something in his gut told him to stay. And finally, when the door creaked back into place, it revealed a girl sitting there reading, or was. The door was heavy and the way he opens doors isn't too gently. He sized her up then searched for injuries with his frozen and unforgiving eyes. Finally, he managed to get something past his lips. "You ok?" He asked in a low voice.

Salanica looked up at Mai for a moment, a look of fake surprize in her eyes, before laughing heartily. "Sorry Mai..." She replied, holding onto her head in false humour. She still felt slightly separated from the world. Wishing she could be more powerful, and be of a better existance on the planet...

Mai studied Salanica, when the boy jumped in front of them. She head him mutter a quick sorry beforee stalking off, and decided to leave that at that, beofre turning back to Salanica."You aren't going into 'I wish I was stronger to help the planet' mode agian?" Mai shook ehr head, sighing lightly.

"But..." Salanica looked back up at Mai, her eyes glazed over. For a moment, she even looked a tiny bit mysterious; giving off a strange aura that no one could quite put a guess to. But then she smiled again, and that momental aura was gone.
"But I do need to become stronger..." She answered finally, standing up again, her fist clenched in determination. "I have to! If there was only some way I could become stronger...!"

Mai stood bewildered at Salanica, slightly confused at her words, whilst still lingering o nthe strange aura that came off her a second ago, beofor shakign ehr head," Sally, your not makign sence, how can you not have to get stonger but want to get stronger?"

Salanica sighed, slightly irriated at the questioning. Her fist clenched tightly within her palm, her fingers cracking in tension.
Why doesn't she understand me... She though, clinging onto the locket again, and feeling like she was going to soar from the top of the very school she'd worked so hard to join.
"I'm sorry Mai but... I have to get stronger, for my parents... and make them proud of me!" To this, Salanica spun around, ignoring ayone elses reaction to her outburst. "If I don't make them proud... they'll... they'll surely be mad at me!"

Mai sighed lightly," Sal, you strong enough. You got into the school of your dreams, I think you parents are all ready proud of you. Put it this way unless your the king of delinquents your parents will always be proud of you."

Salanica sighs at this. She knew they were proud. They had to be! She'd worked so hard, and tried so much... yet she felt like she wasn't complete. Like there was something missing from within her...
"I feel kind of... incomplete... Mai... you know?" Salanica whispered, sitting back down, staring at the tips of her toes, a vision of gloom and memories filling up her eyes. "Like there is something missing... something I need... I figured... to be strong, I could find that thing... and make my parents as proud of me as they could be..."

Salanica blinks slightly as Mai hugs her, her eyes clouded with mist. Why is she hugging me, and calling me cute...?
Salanica shook off her confusion, before slowly hugging back, breathing softly. She couldn't help but feel the part of her that was missing was linked so close to this kind of action. She smiled slightly.
