Oh *smack* I think my gullible syndrome really hit me today sweatdrop

But honestly, most of the war based FPSes don't have a basis on story because they know nobody will care. I have heard, though, that Medal of Honor Underground had an excellent story, but those days are far in the past.

My personal theory on FPSs is that they serve one purpose. The destruction on anything that moves that is not you. biggrin True, there are some great ones out there that have great stories, but when it all comes down to it...the reason most people play FPSs is to shoot/slash/maim things, and do it in large doses.

The FPS I've been playing a lot recently is Time Splitters 2. Man that game is fun...(Shrink Mode is the devil...the devil I say! Curse you Snowman...)

I have yet to play Half-Life...of course...most games that come out for the PC (can't remember if it came out on a console) I never play. Oh well.

Time Splitters 2 is the only FPS I have.. I'm usually awful at them but I'm actually alright at that one. biggrin

Half-Life did have a console release. I can only remember this because when I rented out the PS version and I got a glitched copy and the characters would make this hilarious noise whenever they got shot. Apart from that.. I usually avoid FPSs because I'm just hopeless at them. sweatdrop

Rock on blaugh

The only FPS I used to play regularly was Counter Strike, but I never got good at that at all, and dieing really sucked in that game. Team Fortress Classic was really fun, and eventually I played that over CS.

For multiplayer fun, I still think the crowning achievement of FPSes may still be Tribes 2. When you get a good crew together to do bombing runs, it was oh-so-delicious.

I haven't played in a year or so, I think a expansion has come out since then, and another one is coming out soon or came out. The most I miss about it is my Outfit though.

Be careful, Kaze. I hear Canadian survive entirely on the flesh of outsiders, which to them is a delicacy beyond reproach. Also, Canadians are capable of breathing fire, so don't provoke them. Oh, and the Canadians are in league with either the UN or the USSR, so be wary of black helicopters - those'll be used to drop the invasion force stealthily across the border. If you spot one, it's best to attempt to shoot it down with the RPG you should have recieved as part of your "So you wish to survive your trip to Canada" package that the Michigan Militia graciously gives to groups of Patriots going across enemy lines.

Indeed you are, little Yuri, but fear not! The Canadians are a clever foe, but the Michigan Militia, as we speak, is right now outside drunk on glory and hootch in the woods with assault weapons, training for the final battle. The Canadians are expecting our forces to be sober when they assault - therefore the Michigan Militia will have a little surprise for them when they come. The Militia is ready to stand proud and tall against these Northern Cannibals!

Remember, Canadians, like Communists, eat children and worship Satan, so only God Fearing Patriots will be able to counteract their advance, while the barefoot and pregnant womenfolk do their best to make some Patriotic Pie for their husbands when they return in glory, having bathed only in victory for the last six months. Therefore, Menfolk, it is your duty to join the Michigan Militia (or your state's eqivalent) if you happen to live on the front lines, while Womenfolk have the sacred duty of marrying a Patriot and doing his laundry.
