"Well, in that case a companion would have the same intelligence as a human, and bondbirds aren't that smart... even if this one thinks he can outsmart me most of the time..." She takes the half a garlic clove from him.

He motions for her to eat it and continues adding the already chopped cloves into his mixture. He adds the ricotta cheese lastly and then begins to stir in earnest. "Most animals think that they can outsmart humans, but when you can actually hear them speak, they really don't sound very intelligent."

"You would be surprised if you talked to Poe, I think. Especially if you've ever talked to a normal raven before." She eats the clove

"Can;t say that I have. Remember, I have to almost be close enough to touch the little things in order to communicate with them. I mostly talk to the horses and our cats. Cats are incredibly intelligent. I was surprised."
All while he was mixing the ingredients, the large pasta had been on to boil. They were finished now and he strained them in the sink. He brought them over to the table and set them down, then rummaged around under the counter for a casserole dish.

"Well, the only animal I've ever talked to is Poe. Non-sentient animals, that is... because of course I talk to hertasi and kyree and no one would consider them 'animals', but still... I'm not making sense again."

Cy pauses his chore for a second to offer her a warm grin. "That;s alright, Kitten. You're tired and it was a long day. I don't expect you to make alot of sense." he touches her cheek gently, then returns to opening a can he'd grabbed on his way over with the dish. He empties into the bottom of the pan and begins to stuff pasta roll after pasta roll.

"Especially in common... I'm no where near as good at is as my brother." She smiles at him warmly, happy about his understanding of her situation, "I'm not used to speaking so much of it at a time either."

"Well how often have you had to use it before now? Not very, I'd assume. I learned common because of my job, but I understand Valdemaran much better. I suppose I'll have to learn Tayledras so that I understand people in the vale though..." he says, still stuffing the pasta shells. "That's alright though. I pick up on languages quickly, ashke." he adds the last bit in the emphasize his point. "It's just remembering them when I'm not using them thats the problem."

"'Kitten' sound better from you than ashke. Meanwhile, Wind must have some kind of natural ability when it comes to languages. He speaks, like, 5 languages perfectly... and usually the only one he uses is Tayledras but he doesn't seem to have any trouble speaking any one of them. It's unfair."

"I like kitten better too, but won't there be people in the vale with kitten as part of their name? It may get confusing. Maybe I'll just call you that in private..." he says.

"Well then, we might be alright." He winks at her as he finishes stuffing the last sheel. He pours another layer of pasta sauce over top and then washes his hands. Afterwards, he pops the caserole dish into the oven and sits across from Flower.
