"Thanks Iz." ((Can I call you Iz? I dunno why... and I want to call Ilandere Dere. I have no idea why, but every time I type your names, I want to shorten them. Tell me no, and I will change that.)) "But I'll be fine. I know... I'll stay here, unless the situation on third earth gets really desperate." She looked around the room, at Ilandere's sleeping form, at Themba and Izzy's concerned faces. This was where she needed to be.

Themba nodded solemnly and put a hand on Lily’s shoulder.

“I know this must be hard for you. I do feel regret for keeping you from your home but I suppose your decision to stay is what you feel is best. You are of much help here, Lily, and your kindness I cannot repay.”

It wasn’t long before Saangi returned with provisions and other items for their use. She entered quietly and said nothing to any of them. She knelt next to Ilandere and took care of her while she slept giving her medicines and herbs that would help her heal more quickly and that kept her asleep.

She then turned to Lily and took her battered arm inspecting it. She took her wrist in between her fingers and looked at it.

“Does this hurt?” she would ask while putting pressure on her wrist or moving it around. She then did the same for the elbow and shoulder.

Saangi persisted after having her hand swatted away and turned Lily’s arm over following the dark handprint.

“Who on Zadaa has a grip like this?” she murmured to herself and then said to Lily, “Your arm will be fine. I have a salve you can put on the bruise that will make it heal more quickly.”

Saangi fished in her bag and pulled out a small container and unlidded it. Inside was a gooey, orange salve. Saangi dipped her fingers into it and reached for Lily’s arm.

“I’ll be gentle.” She said to her reassuringly.

Lily flinched slightly, but Saangi was good on her word. "Thanks," Lily said when she was done.

Saangi smiled. "It's no problem. May I ask what happened though?"

Lily stopped. "I, um..." She looked to Themba and Izzy desperatly.

“When we were attacked down in the tunnels,” Themba stepped in, “One of them grabbed Lily. He wasn’t much of a fighter. He was very large and slow but had the grip of a Zhou’s jaw.”

Saangi shot him a quick look but accepted the explanation. “You all look tired and hungry. You may sit and I will make you something to eat.”

Themba nodded and sat next to Ilandere who was sleeping deeply because of the sedative herbs. She didn’t even flinch to his touch and he knew that she would have awoken had it not been for the herbs.

Saangi disappeared into another room but then poked her head back through and said, “Themba, when did Loor say she would return?”

“There was no guarantee, but she said she might be back by tonight.”

Saangi nodded then disappeared again. Themba was almost relieved to be out of her questioning presence but knew she meant well.

One Ghee stepped forward threateningly, and Artemis backed off. He started to glance around nervously, looking for an opening. He found one. Sticking straight up from the ground was a giant stick, similar to the staves the Ghee were holding at the moment. He grabbed it quickly and expertly went into a fighting stance.
"I'll have you know that I won't take this kind of abuse"
He ran toward the closet Ghee, implanted the stick into the ground, and then sumersaulted over the Ghee, leaving him dumbfounded. With a wave, Artemis ran out of the alley into the chest of another Ghee. Running on pure adrenaline, he tripped the Ghee and bolted.
"I need to find...what was her name? Loor. I need to find Loor's house. Maybe she could help me."
He ran through the city, eventually finding the house. He barged in and slammed the door behind him. He turned to see occupants in the house already, four of which where dressed as he was. After staring at all of them he calmed down enough to speak.
"Um...hi. Would any of you happen to know where Loor is? And um...my name is Artemis Xard."
He muttered under his breath, "A Traveler from Second Earth."
