pyrojazz kiefy If it is in F it's not that difficult to learn the fingerings. there is just a slight change to a few of the notes otherwise it's all the same. Even Bb isn't so hard, just the octaves are mostly repetative instead of the 0-1 (if you get what I mean) scheme of high trumpet notes, but the trickiest thing is that Fs and Gs are reversed in respect to a trumpet. Gosh that makes me mess up so much xD

AllHopeisLostforever I like the sound of the french Horn, but I still Prefer Trumpet (don't kill me) No killing. I used to play trumpet xD Ah, today I left my converter for my mellophone at home. Had to play on a trumpet mouthpeice. Gosh I'm no good at that anymore Dx I also can't believe we have to memorize 3 half-sheets of parade music before Thursday. It's not fair!

We went our marching band assessment saturday. The Judges complained about the mellophones being out of tune when we were perfectly in tune during the warm-up. There is only 2 of us and 80 kids in band. There where parts where we outplayed them which is pretty sad.

pyrojazz kiefy I only use the trigger if I absolutely have to. Otherwise I don't touch the thing for the life of me. My trigger problems are solved. I was given a single horn, and for the time being, my trigger worries are over. smile

We were very in tune, for a change, and we soared on all of our licks. But for some reason, our director was pissed and told us "Oh and mellos. I think you got too excited. Back off." I was basically like X.X Are you serious?!? That's why we won the best brass award! : Oh and we won chapters. 94.35 smile Is anyone going to Scranton, Pennsylvania for Atlantic Coast Championships?

At our last competition, we got first place music. Our band never gets first place music. In fact, our band rarely gets third place music. It was freaking cold out. That means we were in tune. On a cold day. With two piccalos and five mellophones. Go us xD Oh, and the trumpets must not have messed up as much as usual.

So I don't play french horn, but you guys might appreciate this.
Yesterday, I found a silver, piston valve horn in my band room at school, and it's in a really old case (it has leather straps inside to hold the horn down) so I brought it home, and did research on it, and it's a really rare horn from 1939 smile
