“We've heard that his name is Marius Quinn and that he and an unnamed companion will be executed in the quadrangle of the University this evening. I'm not entirely sure why. I don't think anyone is really. They've said 'Crimes of the State,' but that can be anything, can't it?”

Frowning at this free disclosure by his companion, Ishemerai fixed a stare on the young woman who had questioned them. "I suppose we will have to find out along with everyone else, then. Come, Elisheba." He clenched his right hand into a fist at his side.

"We should hurry."

At the arrival of the girl who looked to be no older than herself, Elisheba smiled warmly but briefly, as this was not really a topic that warranted smiles and enthusiasm. She looked up briefly at Ishmerai, but he did not seem as if he was ready to volunteer information, so she looked around to make sure no one appeared to be listening to them – the streets were thin this close to the Boneyard.

Kitty nodded agreeingly
"True, seems like everyone gets in trouble around here for everything," She jumped down from the barrell she was looking from and held out her hand
"The names kitty. Kitty for short," she gave a weak smile. "I just came to see what all the fuss was about. I was hearing rumors about the execution last night. And besides," she held out her basket of flowers "this is where the crowd is, gotta try to make some money you know?"

Elisheba turned to follow Ishmerai as he moved purposefully off, shrugging as graceful an apology as could be managed in the cloak and hood.
“It was nice meeting you!” she turned back to call over her shoulder, “I'm sorry we can't stay to talk!”

Her lingering made her have to skip-hop to catch up with her much taller companion as he disappeared among the tombs, headed for the wall that they would trade along until they met the open side gates of the university. He was still when he walked, quiet. He was preoccupied.

“You think I oughtn't've talked to her, don't you?” she asked, trotting to keep up with his much longer strides.

He was silent a moment, then inclined his head in curt acknowledgement. "No, I do not." He walked quietly for a moment more before continuing, "However, I have been wrong before."

He flashed a small smile as he turned to look at her. "Being aloof can be more suspicious than being courteous. If I had played along with you, I suspect we would have been less memorable to that girl." He faced forward once more.

"My apologies, Elisheba."

"My apologies, Elisheba."

She put her hand on his arm, an impression of muscle behind the concealing drape of his cloak, and it was a light touch for just a moment as she shook her head.

“I did not think she was dangerous,” she looked carefully at a headless stone lamb as they passed it and she searched for words. “I did not think she was a threat to you. I shouldn't be so careless about the situations I put myself into, just because I know you're there to take care of me. I am sorry,” she said sincerely. “I shouldn't cause so much trouble for you. She might have been a spy or a telltale. It' hard to know, sometimes.”

Softly, over his shoulder, Ishemerai corrected her, "Hard for other people, not for you." He paused, embarrassment plain in his voice as he began again, "I should learn to trust you more." He turned to regard her, "I do trust you, Elisheba. You're the only one."

So saying, he quietly returned to watching the path around them.

A confused look spread across Kitty's face as she saw the two leave. People began to become very pequiliar since the walls closed. No one ever trusted another person. But who was she to talk. She was the same way. However, it didn't give them any excuse to be that way. Maybe it wasn't the fact that she was a stranger. Perhaps it was the fact that she was a hooker. People knew. There was no avoiding it.

As people passed her, she held out her basket of flowers
"Daisies and daffodils! get your flowers!" she cried out into the sea of heads, hoping she could make some money today.
"flowers! 10 cents per bud!"

Her smile was small and private. “I think that is changing though. Slowly, maybe, but it is changing. You are making friends,” she shook her head. “Not just me, I mean. You are a very kind person, so I think many people will like you and want to be close to you.” She stopped for a moment and knelt by the a deep fissure in the wall.

“Do we have a moment?” There's a seedpod shoved back into this crevice. I can get it out in just a moment, I think.” She looked up at the sun which was always skirting the horizon. “Do you think we have time?”

He looked at her , stared really, before answering, "Of course. Of course we have time."

He turned to stand watch, anxious that she might see the affectionate expression on his face.

She was already occupied with digging the cluster of seeds out of the crevice as delicately as she could with a stick, her tongue sticking out of the corner of her mouth. After only a few moments of work she managed to dislodge the seeds and they came pattering into her hand.

“It's Arnica. Leopard's Bane, some people call it. It's good for bruises and joint hurts. It will be good if I can get them to grow somewhere near one of the Warren runs.”

She tucked the seeds into an interior pocket of her cloak and dusted the knees of her long tunic as she stood up and skipped around to stand in front of her dark cloaked bodyguard.

“Thank you for letting me stop.” She leaned forward and took possession of his hand. “We'd better hurry though,” she tugged and they set off again, seeds in tow.

(-The University, finally-) Emi though to herself as she slightly grinned with excitement upon seeing the execution, though she knew that she shoudn't be excited to see a man die, whoever his name was. It was the whole idea that the old man never let her attend one at all and without him around at all, which Emi hoped that he was in hiding at the time and not dead, she was able to actually go to something like this and see why the old man would not let her attend this type of event, she knew it was that of two things. One, it could possible have something to do with her past memories or her blacking out or the fact that it was indeed, a waste of time to go to.

She quickly looked around the area and passed by the odd crowd or people that were already at the university awaiting for this event to a small area where there were at least...twelve or more so heavy wooden crates stacked up nearby a building that was close to the event area. Quickly jumping and climbling once box after another she made her way to the very top of the boxes and smiled in a accomplished way that she herself, had a great view of the event. It was somewhat close, more so in the middle but to be able to see it all was where she accomplished, sitting down and letting her feet hang she awaited for the event to start, looking at the crowd and everywhere else around her.

It was odd as Emi thought, though she kept herself thinking more so lightly than normal...that she had been here, or sensed that she had been here more so on occasion, but she did remember the old man telling her that she was going to attend this university once on her parents behalf but opened the shop. It was still odd though...the feeling she had about being here....at this moment...at this event, at this anticipation...it had been as if she had felt it before. Emi then simply shrug her shoulders and guess it was the fact that she did have plans to enroll into this university long time ago....

"Oh gra-aa-aacious, flowers," said one of the passersby gleefully, already digging at the pouch in his, .... they were possibly pants: a jury made to answer whether they were would probably be out for a long, long time. It was one of the crowd who had come to watch the execution. He already had some type of sticky candy on a stick in one hand, which he occasionally licked. It was the middle of the day, but the kohl smeared at his eyes was already crumbly and old: what she could see of his face, anyway, under his wide-brimmed hat with the pink band. At least Kitty was probably about to earn some money.

Out of the many things Khoi the Black Dog did not believe in, he heavily believed in daisies. No point in venturing forth to watch people get murdered for entertainment if one didn't get flowers in the bargain.

"Top of the morning, small child. Five of your daisies, spring bug, and some well-worn double entendres for free. Ain't it wonderful weather for seeing people die horribly? Yeah, it is, right. Golly, I even have fifty cents. What a magical world to be alive in. I could cry one single, crystalline tear, only I got an infection what prevents that."

Hikari smiled faintly at her new house mate. True, times were hard, but with an extra hand around the place maybe things would be just a little bit easier on them all.

She quickly adjusted her other, Miaka as she was dubbed not that long ago, on her hip. Her other hand raking through her hap-hazirdly cut chestnut hair. The sun was about to set, she could tell. And now was as best of a time as any other to head on down to the execution if she wanted the Parvati goddess to see the event unfold.

"W-w-well..." She spoke in a meek tone, her pink circles re-filling her cheeks once more as she looked to the ground. Her hand that had only moments before played with her hair, now twirled an end of her white skirt. "W-we s-should...probably...head- head to the ex-execution n-now." She spoke with a soft nod, as if attempting to reassure herself more then anyone else.

"Y-you dont h-have to go...of course. B-but I-it would look...odd." She hoped the other entertainer would understand where she was coming from when she spoke those words, her eyes taking on a grim tone.

Heavens, she hopes Yami would know where to go...

Kitty stared at him blankly, the only word she understood of his whole speech was fifty cents
"How many flowers would you like sir?" she asked, trying to keep the puzzeled look off her face. How could this man be so happy, when a probably innocent man was about to die?

"Five, puppy-snips," the man said, holding the coin out to her. "As the fifty cents might've strained the overpowered oiled machine of your mind, there are five tens in fifty, and that's what I care for in daisies. Oh, well; it's the tragedy of life that not everybody is, in fact, me. And that's daisies, not daffodils. It's plain knowledge that you can catch things off a daffodil, innit? Like the withering."
