Rain Yupa Speaking of which, I went to see Alien vs Predator tonight. My friend Gabrielle says it sucks (though she admitted later to never having watching it O_o' ), but I enjoyed it. 3/4 stars. Frank saw it and didn't really like it.

If anyone wants to see a cool werewolf movie... with english blokes, lots of harsh language, machine guns, HEAPS of gore and of course... werewolves.. you have to see "Dog Soldiers" ^__^

I do believe you will survive, hun. Poor sad panda. My hubby just got back from watching it and he generally enjoyed it. He said the story was kind of funky requiring much suspension of disbelief, but he said that was ok cause you don't really go to see movies like AvP for story or dialogue. I probably won't go see it; it's not my kind of movie. Orophin: I totally agree with you about having low expectations for movies. I hate getting disappointed by movies that I thought would be good... I was very relieved with the LotR movies. I couldn't help but have high expectations there, and I was very afraid that the story would get butchered. I went to see HP3 a little while back and was incredibly disappointed by it cause the first 2 films had been so so good and the third book has been by far my favorite, so I'm wondering if I didn't set the movie up for failure because I expected so much for it. I shall wander back to my study corner now to ponder this and give it much more attention than it's probably worth.

Yeah I agree with the low expectations for movies. Like I LOVED Freddy Got Fingered, disgusting and hilarious!
As for LotR, the last one was a chore for me to watch, oy.
As for the pandas, everytime I see one I think of the best line from Fight Club, *chuckles* some may know which line I speak of.
As for American Werewolf in Paris, what an awful movie for me. Decent soundtrack though. Of course, I don't like werewolf movies. sweatdrop
the last movie I was able to see in the theatres was the second LotR, that tells you how often I get to see movies.
I'm still exhausted from helping my hubby out. Argh.

The third movie was different because there was a different director of course. I really liked the third movie, but was slightly disappointed that they left stuff out and changed a few events. But overall it was still an awesome (imo) movie.

I shall wander back to my study corner now to ponder this and give it much more attention than it's probably worth. I was there with you. But then again I had to remember that it was at that point that the books became really long. Huge snippets of the book had to be axed for the sake of brevity to be able to even put it into film format. Though I am quite dissapointed for two reasons. There were things that happened in the film that were opposite of what happened in the book (Lupin didn't attack the kids). Also, the second reason, JK Rowling puts loads of foreshadowing into her work. Some things don't even show up until a few books later. When you are kind of forced to cut out the foreshadowing in the previous films, it makes the later films unsatisfying, since they are not as supported as they should be. It was kind of the same thing as why I was disappointed by LoTR: The Two Towers. Though I have to say that Fellowship and LoTR as a whole was great, though the ending could have been stronger if it were not for contradictions decided upon during Two Towers and Return of the King.

Though I have to say that HP 1 and 2 did a good job of bringing out the meaning behind the books. But they are exceptions to the rule.
