Someone did not get the memo of "carnival themed" promenade. Instead, Thrain had arrived in something entirely not fitting the theme. All he had known was that he should look fancy for the cute little filly he'd been paired up with, and in attempt to love extra fancy, the Death Guardian had gone all out in his own special way. His hair was at least way more managed this night, tied with a pretty silver ribbon. "You are dressed right. I was not aware of a theme..." Not that Thrain really would have been able to have picked a proper one. Having never really been to a carnival before, there was no real sort of basis for that, so the horseman kind of just... Arrived in his most fetching outfit. "You look lovely, Lady Saiyuri. I am glad to have such a clever thing with me for the night." A smile touched his mouth as he happily pushed them along, nearly dragging the woman along with how tight she was hanging onto his arm. It was... pretty adorable, honestly. Her enthusiasm was refreshing, especially with all these little students hustling around. "That is the worst kind of music I have ever heard... It sounds as though someone is killing the instrument section and the singer all at once..." How was someone to dance to this? It was all kinds of disjointing... But it had a steady beat, which was... Most conducive to dancing, actually. Huh... "Dancing or food, either sounds appealing to me. But it is your pick, Miss Saiyuri." He grinned at her, wiggling the arm she held in her clutches.

"I don't get upset because I expect it then! Yeah, I do come over when I'm upset...but that's the only time I see you! Not like you make an effort to come see me at all. Do I have to be crying to get some of your time?" She was getting irritable, and though Christof's explanation helped a little, it didn't answer the whole thing. "I know you well enough to know you're acting off."
Her gaze drifted to the side, towards a certain Student Council President that was trying to get her attention from a distance.
"Excuse me, I'm apparently being summoned. You boils have fun, okay?" She managed a smile, trying to compose herself...and then she scampered off as fast as her properly facing, high heeled wearing feet would allow. Which meant not very.
When she returned sometime later, it was with a sign in sheet. We're ready to swing! Lead: Aymet Partner: Amrita

Mac's voice (and overall everything) were poison to Mot's senses. He narrowed his dark gaze upward for a moment as Mac sang on stage, rolling his eyes subtly. Hel took her leave to go be with Mac, which was fine. He hated Mac, but as long as the other reaper was not aware of him, Mot felt fine. Let Hel play with the jackass. Maybe one day she would realize how terrible he was for her. Which left Helmut. Who was now "free" of Hel as a date, it seemed. Being as such, the little one seemed to immediately wander away to eat again. So now he was alone, which was just fine, really; because a vision just appeared out of the crowd like a glorious beacon. Mot smiled warmly and held Gene closely, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "I'd love to, babe. Shall we?" Mot let her go for only a moment, offering his hand and giving a short bow at the waist in a gesture of gentlemanly flair. Dance competitions were fine; he'd done them before. Tonight, he wanted to just enjoy the company of his date, who was finally free to mingle.

After a long trial of being eaten, trying some games and daring the fun house (and that ball pit of doom), Maple found herself back at the main Prom tent. There were refreshments, music and places to sit and rest from what she could remember. It would be nice to get off her feet for a while and maybe just get to enjoy AJ's company for a bit (even though that made her nervous).
But, it was probably not going to be as easy going as she had guessed. Because apparently there was a dance contest going on. Oh no, was this something she could be dragged into? Should she hide?

"To be fair, I showed you this song, so I stole nothing." He rolled his eyes at her continued insistance in being a thorn in his side, and as she explained her situation, he made a face. "Ew, no kidding, burn that damn thing and then kill the minipet you feed it to. Burn that too." Gag. "Besides, who has a wedding at Prom? That's dumb." Freya was dumb. Mac would be sure to tell her to her face next time he saw her.
"...Bosom Buddy. I can see why." His gaze fell nicely right onto a pale rack, a little smile playing on his lips. "OH! Hurry back stupid, you and I are entering the dance competition." Mac called after her, waving an arm above his head. When she was gone, he turned back towards Bella.

Simply frowned as she didn't seem to be getting a reply. Or maybe that was just her not understanding his miming. Either way it didn't seem to be clicking wether he wanted to dance or not was evident enough. So instead of waiting for a response she glanced around the tent looking for a victim.
The perfect one walked in just as her eyes fell on the target. Poor, poor Maple. "Well I'll show you how fun it is then!" She called cheerily in her booming voice with a wave to Darren before prancing off. And suddenly Maple would find little clawed fingers wrapping around her wrist and dragging her off. "Dance with meee~!" She called playfully, prancing along back toward the stage happily.
Then a pause suddenly as the sound like a lightbulb came from nowhere. "Hey, didn't you get eaten?"We're ready to swing! Lead: Simply Partner: Maple

Giggling a bit at her boilfriend's antics, Gene took the young man's hand with as much grace and affection as she could afford, letting him lead the dance. They turned slowly around the floor, not making a show of themselves. A kiss was pressed to his lips, and Gene was practically sinking into the Reaper.
"It's been one hell of a night, Mot." She whispered, continuing in their dance with a tired smile and the certain playfulness that comes from relieved stress. "I nearly had to kill a gnome for eating a whole batch of the fries, and another may have been permanently scarred for nearly spilling a tray full of teas all over my dress." She shook her head, nuzzling into his collarbone. "We're hiring students next time - I'll even pay for it."
Dancing around a bit more, the Doppelganger planted another kiss on Mot's lips, giving him a grand smile. "But what about you, screech? How's your night been?"

They hadn't quite made it to the games yet. Xavier cowered a little at the thought of dancing in public, but gave Steffani a slightly curious look because ghouls liked dancing, right, wasn't he supposed to dance with her or something even though he was probably terrible at it and probably would step on her feet a million times and -
"Did you, er," Cough. "want to, er," Cough. "try in this, errr...thingy?" Xavier asked, gesturing vaguely to the dance competition.

She let out an awkward, but clearly happy giggle. She was a fairly confident girl, well with the exception of recent few months. However, she had never handled being approached in such a way well, as she was usually the one stalking her prey until she was ready and comfortable to confront them. It was just unknown territory for Whisper. "Both is...good."
She nodded and smiled, in a considerably better mood than she was when she arrived at the prom. She felt noticed, chosen. Whisper hadn't felt that way in a very long time, and honestly she had forgotten how special she could feel. She was a little embarrassed that such a simple gesture could brighten her day so much, but that really pointed out to her that..well...her life had been super shitty for awhile. Between fits of rage and depression, she really hadn't been conducive to her own happiness. Whisper gave Frost a very soft smile and her body relaxed. "Hey, thanks...Shall we dance? I'll let you pick our topic of conversation...boil's choice."

Mot returned her kiss with one of his own, slowly leading her around the dance floor, holding her frame close to him. Her ghostly chilly body was refreshing after having spent a good hour or so in a crowded tent. "Honestly? You had to work with gnomes?" Mot frowned, and held the back of gene's head softly. "My poor screecheart." He coo'd in a whisper, "At the very least, you're free now.. and you still managed to look amazing."He grinned a short bit before meeting her lips as well, sharing a kiss with his dearly missed ghoulfriend. "Hmm.. My night has been fine. A bit chaotic at times, but what is Prom without chaos." He chuckled with a light smile. He frowned soon after, and leaned down a bit to whisper to Gene, "No matter what you hear from Freya or Twitter, I am not adept at threesomes, nor have I ever been in one."

And then, without waiting to see if the ghoul actually wanted to dance or not(because of course she did), Simply followed instructions.
"You can swing too, right?" Not that she knew what swing was. She just assumed it meant letting the ghoul spin with her at the top speed she could manage, prancing around with a jingle jangle of bracelets as she did. We're ready to swing! Lead: Simply(Raja) Partner: Maple(Chirigami)

Ren was way too excited about this dance competition. And he may or may not have noticed a certain redheaded werewolf that had appeared in the audience in a very adorable outfit, as well as a certain little brother.
"LW! FRECKLES!" he screeched excitedly, promptly tripped over the cord to his microphone, and wound up tangled in the wires for several long moments in a flurry of feathers, tail, and a few miscellaneous records that collapsed around him.
He also may or may not have accidentally hit the play button on the next song.NOW PLAYING: "Walking on Sunshine" - Katrina and the Waves

Should have expected this and ran out of the tent. Of course, Maple found herself grabbed by a ghoul with pretty sharp claws and happiness written on her expression as clear as the pumpkin sun in daylight hours. The little witch squeaked yet didn't fight it.
"S-swing?" Maple stuttered, naturally. "N-no," she knew ballroom dancing and things like that and nothing fun like swing. At least the other ghoul had taken the lead, perhaps she could keep up?
The reaper followed her partner's footsteps as best she could, allowing for a little spin (and her dress swishing about). Huh, maybe this wasn't so different than what she was taught. Just a little faster and more bounce (in Simply's case, lots more bounce). We're ready to swing! Lead: Simply(Raja) Partner: Maple(Chirigami)
