- Several Months Later -
With a bright gleaming smile, Maximos' face tore through the clouds, ripping up a cone of clouds to swirl around the swath of black he carved across the clear blue skies toward his floating home.
Behind him a large dark shadow loomed in the clouds forming what would have been a most sinister silhouette of a beast most terrifying...if its wasnt a close friend...
And just before he peaked over the 400ft cone of earth which extended below the surface of the island, his boots cut out letting inertia and gravity battle and allowing the shadow to simply plop on the islands surface. He dusted off a few loose ice particles before he turned to the nearest shadow and began to speak. Speak, in the loosest possible usage of the word, as his mouth moved but no sound came out. And he waited for his friend to land, hope that Ryugi would at the very least mind Walter's garden when placing those large feet down.

Ryugi wouldn't be so careless as to trample Walter's hard work. Ryugi didn't know Walter was also the gardener, but he admired its beauty nonetheless, and wouldn't dare destroy such a beautiful thing. As Ryugi's golden form burst from the clouds, he used what was left of his momentum to climb up, and with another bright flash of light, he quickly turned himself back into the human form Maximos, and Walter, would remember.
The momentum allowed him to flip into a front flip, and land on the edge of the island, about ten feet in from the edge, and neatly out of the way of the garden. Ryugi winced a bit as his legs went numb from the shock of landing, but he was alright to say the least, and very much ready for lunch.
That was a lovely trip. It isn't often I get to enjoy flight. But then again, I also enjoy walking, as its not something most dragons are accustomed to doing.

Impressive as before, Maximos smiled and made his way to Ryugi's landing point. He knew Walter could cheat and life leaf the flowers back into good health, but he hated cheating. His monthly visits for minerals and vitamins showed it.
Completely understandable.
He said with a smile.
Walter says there is a table set for us by the night pear tree's. That would be....this way.
Maximos pointed off a bit to the north, and began walking along a stone path. He made it past the rose garden, across the vegetables, a skip across from the apple trees, to a large forest of black tree's with black fruit and leaves near the lighthouse itself. Maximos and Ryugi would arrive just in time to see three humanoid figures poof into tufts of black and blow away leaving several plates and trays laid out across the table, along with two place settings, several pitchers and two glasses.
Walter is busy fixing a mess I made earlier so he wont be joining us. But feel free to take a seat and help yourself!
Sandwiches, salads of several kinds, various barbecued meats, and a plethora of other delicacies lined the table just in reach for either individual to pick from. At which point Maximos would stand in front of his seat, inviting Ryugi over. He would of course wait for his guest to sit before he himself did. And then the feasting would begin!
Lunch is served!

I'll have to remember to thank Walter the next time I see him. He's made us a FEAST for LUNCH!
Ryugi nodded in thanks to Maximos for letting him sit first, and proceeded to take one of everything. It wasn't often Ryugi got access to such a spread, and some things he didn't exactly remember seeing before. After he'd loaded a plate with as many of the items as possible (he'd have to have seconds just to try everything), he made himself comfortable and took a bite of a sandwich.
Goodness! This is delicious! I'm sure Walter and Vargus would love to trade recipes one of these days.
It was then that Ryugi noticed the strange black fruit growing on the tree they were sitting by.

Indeed, thats Walter for you.
Maximos said with a nod as he served himself much the same as Ryugi every so often being sure to look up and make sure the dragon did put away a whole entree before he could get to it.
He would like that, he's always on the look out for something new to add to his meals. I still dont think he's made half the contents of his last cookbook, but I suppose a chef can never really have enough.
He said taking a bit of a meaty sandwich. His eyes followed Ryugi's up to the tree where the Night Pear hung. And soon, his arm reached across the same path plucking a fresh one and handing it to the his guest.
Try one! They're called Night Pears, they're like a tangy mix of apple and pear with a twist of peach! Walter brought them from the Shadow Realm, I dont know how he got them to survive in the light, but they havent suffered a bit of flavor.

Ryugi took the night pear from his friend's grasp and took a big hearty bite. The black fruit crunched much the way a ripe apple might, and Ryugi could taste the sweet juice, and the hint of peach his friend talked about.
That reminds me. While we're in Angara we'll have to introduce you to some of our more interesting dishes. I guarantee you will have had NOTHING like them anywhere else on the planet. We've even got a treat made from the aptly named Dragon Fruit. It only grows in one area in Angara.
Ryugi grinned and finished the pear, and moved on to finishing his sandwich, and a few pieces of the various meats.

Excellent!
Maximos said, crunching into a watermelon slice.
I'll have to remember to bring a slice back for Walter.
As they ate, the sky seemed to rush past them. The ocean buzzed below and clouds whizzed across the outside of the islands safety field. There were no ill effects for Shadow Islands passengers no jostling or jeering, no sudden G-force, but anyone with a set of eyes could see that the island was indeed moving, and very very fast.
So what sort of things do you normally eat on Angara?
Maximos said, almost oblivious to the speed increase.

Ryugi chuckled.
Contrary to popular human belief, we don't eat that much meat. Since alot of us are in a human form most of the time, what we eat is usually based on what our mostly human bodies can eat. This opens up a wide variety of foods to us.
Ryugi munched a bit of the salad and took a break from talking. He noticed the island had sped up, but didn't really worry about it. It was probably moving quickly as it had before, during his last trip on the island.
I grew up in the biggest agricultural section of Angara. My father was a farmer, and my mother kept a garden. So we had flowers and all kinds of wonderful things to eat. Vegetables, grains, fruits, and even some meat now and then. Meat we had to buy at the market each day, and it was always fresh. My town doesn't have all the best food though. Its rather common. The really interesting food is in the Capital City. They have EVERYTHING that anyone could want there. Food, merchandise, knick knacks, even weapons and armor.
Of course, there more to Angara than just the food and various items.
Ryugi chuckled and took another bite of some things on his plate, and took the time to fill it back up with the rest of the items e'd missed on his first run through.

Maximos leaned back in his chair, resting his hand on his belly. It was a good meal, but he liked to keep a light lunch, and so he randomly picked a few of the fruits from a bowl of fruit salad.
Hmmm....really? I had no idea! You've always struck me as the city type.
He said, Ryugi was a farm boy that was news to him! He could tried his best to imagine this Central City, or even a dragon farm! it was all very interesting. He might take a moment to pick up a sword for his collection if they had the time!
It sounds amazing. I cant wait!
The clouds had grown dark as they island poured into the storm, wind washed over its craggy surface like a fierce bath trying its best to tear it apart, but trying in vein.
And everyone here is a dragon?

No matter what they might look like on the outside, they're ALL dragons.
Ryugi smiled as he finished his second plate, and sat back in his chair. he looked off the side of the island at the storms blowing around the outside of the protective area.
Looks like we're getting into the nastier parts of the storms now. We're getting close. Shouldn't be long before we'll break through, and you'll get your first real look at the countryside.

And then it stopped.
Not the storm, but the island. Ahead on the far south of the island, it looked almost like a dome was cut open in the clouds as Shadow Island just poked through the storm. Maximos had made the mistake last time of plowing straight on through, this time he wouldnt be so foolish. Just a tip would serve as an anchor keeping the winds from carrying the large floating home away, an giving Ryugi and Maximos a place to dock at!
We're here! I'd better get some things packed. I'll meet you on the ground!
And with that, he rushed off for the Lighthouse. Clothes, seals, monies, that sort of thing. Once cant just travel on good looks alone!

Maximos Sadly, Maximos was still away at Barton. He had been gone an exceedingly long time. Really, he had left yesterday eve and it had been a whole day. It was even stranger considering Barton was at most an hour long flight away, and there was no way the Master was having trouble gathering the seeds he required. Garden minerals where that hard to find. For a moment, Walter stared outward and gave a troubled glance to the south. But then simply adjusted his monocle and returned tilling an area of soul with his hands. Whatever was happening, the Master would have wanted it this way. --- D however, was having entirely too much fun to think of his Big Brother. Wings were so much fun! He couldnt really wrap his feet around her without choking off the precious room she would need to flap this wings so his feet just idly hung. An experience tantamount to riding a roller coaster with flooring. He was in Heaven, or at least because of the altitude, the rise and fall, the general feeling of loopiness, and sugar high, he was close to it! D wasnt won to "whee!" very loudly, he was more the type of kid who's mouth hangs open and he stares in awe, and then afterwards begs to do it again. In this case, he reached his arm out and let it slide through the leaves, out of pure luck dodging sharp branches and the like. His tried his best not to squeal in laughter as whip of wind shredded the flower gardens. He tightened his grip, just a bit, his sharp teeth grinning from ear to ear as they spun toward the earth, the wind lashing in his hear, drying out his pearly whites, his cheeks flapping with the sheer G's. He loved it. But she had slowed! With laughter blossoming from his voice he responded. Lets go again!Wriggling rather excitedly in place. :: Turning the clock back a few months ::
Teira wanted very much to keep playing, but she also wanted to see Maxi. Giggling with excitement, she flew at break neck speed toward the gardens, maybe Walter would know where Maximos had gotten to?
"Come Deeeeeeeeeeee!~ Teira find Maxi!!"
After all, tag was more fun with more people right?

Yayyyyyyyy!
The "eee" would last as long as Teira held her speed, or until D ran out of breath. Though likely the later would come first. He wasnt totally sure where they were going but, they were moving, and fast, so he didnt care.
Walter would know! And he would take a moment to grab onto his wide brimmed sun hat as Teira flew in so as not to suddenly lose it to the edge of the island. In his right hand was a small spade and in his left was a simple chunk of soil he had pulled from a recently barren chunk of garden. He was expanding the rose's just a bit to add in his recently acquired black roses.
Roses which could be seen in a small plant tray beside him.
I see the Master and the Lady are getting along nicely.
He would say, with a very Walter-esque calm aged smile. Granted, flying at break-neck speeds Lady Teira or even Master D could infact...break their neck and or die, and yet Walter seemed to smile on through. Children were children after all, and he was never the type to smother them with concerns, magic and instinct could cover anything in between.

Teira did a backwards loop-de-loop before landing, showing off as children do and flashing a 'Did you see what I did there?' smile at D, she skipped over to Walter playfully and latched onto his shirt sleeve.
"Teira see Maxi?"
She asked beseechingly as she smiled up at the old butler with bright eyes, shiny with hope of a favorable response.

D of course, tossed back a wide eyed toothy "Whoa, that was awesome!" smile. Because, infact, that was awesome. And he was kinda jealous. He wanted to ask big brudder for a set of those later, though he knew he'd never get them.
Walter, simply smiled, pulling the finger tips of his right workglove and then sliding it off and setting it beside him so as to properly adjust his monocle. The suspense always made the answer so much more enjoyable. And after the monocle was just right, he answered.
Master Maximos just arrived a few moments ago, though he headed straight to his room to freshen up.
Necroplasm and rotted flesh stains, and stinks in a most unpleasant way. Though Walter would leave that small detail out.
The Lady may visit him if she wishes.
He leaned over just a bit, to the boy who was mimicking Walter behind her and sitting behind to a patch of grass he had recently pulled out, and was now attempting to dig in. Being bereft of roses D likely would have planted the very grass he had uprooted back into the hole, had he been left to his own devices.
Master D, do you know the way?
D immediately perked up, looking a bit lost for a moment before his brain caught up, and he hopped to his feet, tossing his fist in the air, victorious.
Yes!
Good, show the Lady Teira.
Walter said in his usual soft tone. D seemed excstatic he was given a task! A mission! A quest! And almost before he could finish D would grab Teira's hand and shout.
C'mon less go!
And try and run off on this new adventure he had been gifted with.
