Kiera grumbled a little as she bent down to pick up the book and shoved it into her coat. "Hell yeah you do." She then picked him up and shrugged him over her shoulder. "My turn to take you out undignified. Plus it's faster." She started to run out. "You're just lucky that I didn't listen. Otherwise you'd have been stuck in there for ages." They were soon out of the semi-crumbled building.

*Shortstraw shied, "things never seem to go so well for me either it seems. I figured there was more to this. I have yet to discover who that little girl really is though... she is the one who beat us to that other reliec, and also the one who took leadership of the DD. It seems her and it attact when we fight. I'm thinking perhaps that might be becuse o somethin ancaint hidden in the hand of time." He shied, "and iwouldn't have been stuck there, i promesed you i would meet you at the hidout. I would have been there no matter what." he spoke.

Kiera laughed a little. "Sure, sure." Kiera teleported, so that she wouldn't have to run so much and so that she could help Shortstraws leg quicker. Once they appeared at the safe house, Dante crowded her, so she had to push him back a little. "Uncle Shortstraw got hurt?" Kiera shrugged, putting Shortstraw down gently on the floor. "Just a scratch." Asher eyed her carefully. "That's not just a scratch. What happened back there?" Kiera looked to Shortstraw then back to Asher. "The floor caved in. Shortstraw got trapped and we had to get out of there quick."

*Shortstraw looked to asher, "That girl was there. Same results as before." He shook his head, "Somthing about her isn't... right. I can feel it when i'm aginst her. She can power demon hunters down, she can do all that i can do to the T. She's stepps ahead, and seemingly seems to be trying to use me for some plot." He looked to Donte and Soflora. Then over to Mark who was sitting on the couch sadly looking to the floor, "you returned without him. I guessed it was too late." Shortstraw gave a nod, "He gave me the book and told me to find another sussessor." Mark stood up angerly, "Thats IMPOSSABLE!" Shortstraw shot him a look and he sat back down, "Lisen i know he was your closest friend and all, but what happened, happened. I would guess she's already been after Meana aswell. Which means we will need to start pulling together more." Mark shook his head, "Can't defend the place then." Shortstraw shied, "She's been attacking places to get data on us most likly. We have no choice but to do somthing." mark shook his head in silence and looked away. Shortstraw then shied, "i know who i will give th book too."

Kiera looked to Shortstraw before she sat down on the floor then lad down using her arms as pillows. All that she knew right now was that she was tired. At least Asher had enough curiosity to make up for Kiera as well. "Who?" She questioned. Meanwhile Dante sat on Kiera's stomach, making her grunt at how heavy Dante was. "You gotta stop snacking when mom and dad are asleep.." Dante glared at her. "How did you know about that?"

*Shortstraw almost want to smile as he nodded, "Well the rules are simple. Only the bloodline can be givin the artifects, and unlcok there true demon hunter blood. Although it's not suppost to happen for another 5000 years, so i have alot of rules to break. We have on of Demon Hunter blood." He looked to Asher. "Ava. She's loyal, she close, she's trainable, and young. With me i should be able train her all i know already in demon hunting." Mark stood up, "tch... so all you have to do is replace everyone i get it." He looked tot he window. Shortstraw glared, "Hey get your head together." Mark turned around and yelled, "WE"RE GOING TO BE HUNTED LIKE DOGS! ALL YOU CAN THINK ABOUT IS REPLACING US WHEN WE FALL! WITH YOU ******** FAMILIY!" He yelled. Shortstraw moved his leg carfully and stood up, he then pointed to the door, "Don't like it get out. I had a life before the demon hunter stuff, and i will live it before any of this s**t. YOU were suppost to be the higher of our kind, what the hell happened? They are kicking your asses, meanwhile I, the weakest and most to loose, am the ONLY ONE DOING ANYTHING!" Mark looked away again, "exacly. The rest of us had to train for this our whole lives, we had to sacrifice our loved ones in order to finish our training to 'protect the world' meanwhile you got away with it all." Shortstraw nodded, "yep deal with it or leave. I can't baby sit you too. i got them to worry about, " he pointed to donte and soflora, "i got her to worry about..." he pointed to keria, and i got out there worry about..." he pointed out the window as he pushed Mark agins the wall, "I AM ONLY ONE PERSON! YOUR THE OLDER ONE, YOUR SUPPOST TO TEACH ME! So tell you what, go out there and deal with everything i have to deal with, the stress makes you wanna loose control and kill everything in your path." he started to shake, "and it take EVERYTHING i have to hold on." He turned and walked into the hot tub room and slamed the door closed so that he chould calm down.*

Kiera opened one eye and decided to break the tension. "Well s**t just got serious." Asher shook her head. "Not Right now, Kiera. Not everyone can be as carefree as you." Kiera shrugged and shut her eyes again. "Well maybe everyone should be." Asher hissed. "Aren't you going to comfort him or at least go and heal his wound?!" Kiera giggled. "While he's like that? Hell no. Give him some time to cool off, kitty. I'm not stupid. I don't make things better for him." Asher scoffed and walked over to the kitchen. "Com'on Dante. Lets get you something to eat." Dante nodded happily but made his way over to Asher wearily. "Uncle Shortstraw was scary just then." Asher sighed. "He's just stressed." Meanwhile Kiera looked to Mark and sat up, putting her hands on her feet. "You're both being pretty stupid. Arguing when you're supposed to be dealing with this. And i hate to break it to you, but you're the one being provocative."

*mark looked to her. The Hot girl he met beore that shortstraw had. He was enviouse of that even more so. "I have no idea what it is you mean by that." He sat down, "still you guys came for me. I understand that may have took his presious time with you all for a while. Oh wait, you came with him. Like last time Mis Princess. Its so wrong what it is he was suppost to go through the rest of us had to. We all lost, and he plays around with his dutys. He's not suppost to have you, or them. It's a shame that all of us were chosen for this crap. The anchaints my a$$. They should have solved there own problems and left the rest of us alone. Instead of provoking the Demons and makeing them sware there revenge on our exsistance." he crossed his arms, "none of the stress would be there for any of us. Now Meanas out there most likely facing them off alone while we sit here, in this high doller hotel that no one else inteh world can afford." he looked to keria, "ever come to think maybe he keeps you around to use you. Or your money? Does he really care that much? Is is it just to look cool, and pretend?" He asked more calm then before, almost sadly.*

Kiera practically laughed. "Nice, bringing mine and his relationship into this. That's even more cold than I would have thought from you. But I suppose that's just that." She swiped her hair back. "I come not only for him. But just to help out. Isn't that the duties of a princess? Doing this, I'm doing a service to my kingdom." She sighed pitifully. "It may not be fair that all of this has been dumped on you guys. But it's unchangeable. So there's no point getting upset about something that can't be changed. It's your duty to do these things as much as it is my duty to help my kingdom. You're just being an a** about it. He's going through a lot more than you can see. And while he's trying to deal with this, you're not making anything any easier." She shook her head. "And I'm not saying that just because I'm his girlfriend. I'm saying that because I'm the only one around here who seems to have a level head." She stood up, smiled to him then patted his head. "And if he's using me for all those things, then fine. I've had plenty of friends who have done worse." She then walked over to the others to get some food.

*Shortstraw found himself sitting in the center of the large tub, he was angry, and he was cleaning. Cleaning the room so that it was back to the way it was when they got there. He needed somthing to take his mind off everything. He sorta blamed himself for his comrads death. If he didn't wait till the morning, and he went with just keria and asher... maybe he could have saved him... even if he was by himself... that would have gave demain a chance....
Meanwhile Mark shied, "what can i say i'm longing over my best freinds life. I don't blame shortstraw, i'm just stressed becuse of everthing i been through in the past three days." He finally answered backing down, "i'm sorry to say the thing i have. I did not mean any disrespect, a real Cool guy would never talk down on a lady like that. never. But i guess with out demain around i got no one to watch my back." He sat down sadly and looked out the window. "Shortstraw has all of you to cover his back. meana fights alone, and now it looks like i have too aswell." He mumbled lowly.*

Kiera leaned over the counter and pulled a face as she watched Dante eat. "How can you eat that much?" Dante scoffed, pushing more food into his mouth. "How can you not eat this much. You haven't eaten anything for days, sis." Kiera shrugged. "I'm not hungry." Asher glared at her. "I knew you were getting back into that stupid habit again." Kiera glared back. "Of not eating? Oh boo-hoo. Like you care about my health." Asher just stared at her blankly for a second before she picked herself up and went to go lie on the couch. Dante put his food down and frowned to Kiera. "Sis, you're not being very nice." Kiera rolled her eyes. "Cry me a river."

*Shortstraw opened the door and walked out. "I could but it wouldn't be vary large." He mumbled as he passed and walked out the door, "i'll be back later." He replied as he limped out of the room and lightly closed the door. He figured he could walk everything off, clear his head. Tommorow they were going to go home, home... it sounded nice in his head. He walked out of the hotel and took a random turned to head down the sidewalks of the big city. He moved slowly due to his leg, but he was fine...*

Kiera watched him leave and sighed. "Aren't you gonna go see if he's okay?" Kiera shook her head slowly. "No, he just wants to be by himself for a while." Dante nodded. "O-okay." He suddenly stopped eating his food. "I don't feel so good." Kiera raised an eyebrow at him. "What did I tell you?" Kiera then led Dante into his bed, and tucked him in nice and tight. Dante appreciated Kiera's help, but she reminded him too much of Amelie. But he wasn't going to deny Kiera being compassionate. He loved it when she was like that. Kiera sat on the floor next to the bed and yawned. "Want me to tell you a story?" Dante seemed excited for a second, then got put down again by his conflicting stomach. "What's it about?" Kiera smiled. "Something dad told me when I was a kid. I'm not sure if he's told you about it yet."
By the end of the story, not only Dante was asleep, but Kiera's head had relaxed onto the edge of the bed, and she'd also fallen asleep. Seemed like they were both really tired, no matter the time of day.

Shortstraw walked all the way to the factory, then stopped and looked to it. "The best in the world... closed?" He shook his head, "that sucks." He then shied and looked to the sky, "i know i know, i did horrable today compaired to wha ti had in my mind. but i'm not perfect." He then shied, "i better head back i guess..." When he got to the room he soflty closed the door to find everyone alseep. he even found keria alseep on the floor and smiled. He didn't move her. instead he just sat along side of her, close dhis eye... and feel alseep, leaning on her shoulder.*

During the night, Kiera must have found out that he was there, because by the morning, they were both lying on the floor with Kiera curled around him. Dante woke up before them, and watched them sleeping for a bit. When he got bored, he got all his blankets and carefully dumped them on the two, before he went to the kitchen where he saw Asher. "Those two still asleep?" Dante nodded as he went to go sit on the couch next to Asher. "All right, let them sleep."
