"Yeah, I probably should, shouldn't I?" Mike said with a sleepy hum. He opened his mouth to say something, but after Kasiya yawned, it was all over. It was yawn city, population him. "What did you do?" his voice trailed off. "Black magic spellcaster." He mumbled in reply to her words, visibly fighting to stay awake, but the feeling of Kasiya's skin on his hand may as well have been a hay-maker from a Hitmonchan. The soft, gentle touch of the girl he loved was the last bit of comfort and security he needed to completely let his guard down and rest. The ever-present whispers of the ghosts began to trail off as Mike's eyes became harder and harder to keep open. "If I wasn't...machine...we could...take...four naps." With atypical serenity, Mike slowly nestled into his bed and was out like a light. His soft snores slowly became rhythmic with the steady beeping from the machines hooked into him. His scars emitted a dim glow each inhale.
"Oh mon dieu z'hey are so precious!" Sasha whispered, peering through the window. "Let me see!" Winona all but shoved the pink-haired girl out of the way to get a better look into the room. Sure enough, there was Kasiya, standing watch over Mike, who was now peacefully asleep. She fixed his sheets, tucking him in and leaning down to plant a soft kiss on his cheek. A slight chill ran up Winona's spine as she saw that. Sasha on the other hand, almost fainted, muttering random bi-lingual gibberish under her breath that the gym leader had no hope or ambition to understand. "Whatever." Winona grumbled, getting ready to stand up and leave before a small gasp from Sasha had her back to the window faster than she thought possible. "Are z'hose tubes...in him?" the girl said, her expression turning grim. Winona traced the tubes from the big machines lining the back wall and sure enough, they seemed to be jammed into his arms. It was like he was some sort of experiment. "I'm sure they're just monitoring his body because of all the weird stuff that is going on in there." To be honest, Winona never really got the full briefing on what exactly was up with Mike's body. She saw him smoldering and spitting fire but it still didn't make prefect sense despite how fitting of an ability it was for the boy to acquire. "We should go." Winona said finally, rising to her feet. We should give them some space." "But z'hey're so cute!" Sasha whined. "And you're a creepy voyeur." the gym leader retorted. "Hey, you were watching with me." Sasha replied with a smirk. "I was just-I only wanted to see how Mike was!" Winona stomped her foot. "Z'hat's how it starts." Winona let out a grunt of pure frustration that was just a little too loud, causing Sasha to sigh. She clearly had no idea how to be sneaky in the slightest.

Crenu watched Erika closely as Bubbles sloshed around on the field. There was a clear moment of disgust in her face, but it was to be expected. Muk weren't the cutest thing ever and were pretty vile in nature, he was sure a clean proper reserved girl like her didn't appreciate a being made of pure filth. This could work to his advantage, if he needed it to. But he wasn't surprised in the least to see her mental anguish fade away fairly quickly, Erika was the calm flower she was the last time. However Crenu didn't focus on her for too long, and watched the Tangrowth carefully as he used Sunny Day. He was almost certain he'd see the plant type glowing with energy and zipping around as Sunny Day usually meant they carried Chlorophyll, an acceptable trade of for bringing fire type's attacks to remarkable levels. He was starting to wish he'd carried a fire type or at least a fire type move on his team, but he wasn't planning on using fire to win this in the first place. The Tangrowth did indeed glow, but rather than the speed boost he thought it would get it ended up exorcising the pollution Bubbkles had released onto the field. Crenu scanned his mind, but not being an expert on grass types he wasn't really sure what had just happened. But the effect was clear, Erica's Tangrowth wasn't going to be taken down with a poisoning. Bubbles of course didn't take to kindly to the clapping blue plant thing. He took his nasty poison head on and wasn't even bothered by it, the darn thing was cheering even! Oh this was not ok at all. "Bubbles, it's fine. Don't give them an opening, keep the pressure on with Sludge Bomb." Bubbles didn't hesitate, growling in his gurgling bubbling voice as the slime that made up his body gathered in his throat and swirled around. The sludge pokemon then hurled his body forward, numerous putrid almost black looking lumps of grime blowing out of his mouth towards the Tangrowth. Bubbles roared out daring the vine thing to take that one and shake it off like his poison gas.

Kasiya smiled warmly as it quickly became apparent that Mike was going to lose his battle against sleep. "I didn't do anything," she said with a giggle, finding herself more able to relax now that Mike was able to. Knowing that he was all right and safe was definitely a bit part of it, and she stayed quiet, continuing to smile even as he sleepily accused her of black magic (playfully, of course). His eyes finally fluttered closed and stayed that way, and within seconds it was easy to see that he was fast, fast asleep. She remained still and silent a while longer, not wanting to disturb him in those first few precious moments when one first drifts off, and only when she knew for certain that he was really out did she move, making sure all the sheets were tucked in just right and fussing over him in a loving, almost motherly fashion.
She moved the ratty backpack containing all of the boy's Pokemon up within his reach, picking up the one Pokeball that she was more than sure contained Mike's powerful Charizard, Nitro. "Take care of him, okay?" she whispered to the sphere before she put it back, arranging it carefully before she finally leaned in and placed a very gentle kiss on his warm cheek. That warmth seemed to travel through her lips and into her whole body, and it made her shiver, but the sensation was quite pleasant. She could almost swear that she had seen him smile in return at her touch, but just then, a commotion from the doorway startled her and she jumped back, her surprise quickly giving way to anger as she glared over at Sasha and Winona, who were arguing quite loudly between themselves.
Her brow furrowed and she straightened up before walking toward the two older girls with purpose. "Hey," she growled, the fact that her voice was quite lower than usual making her seem that much more threatening, "would you two mind keeping it down over here? He only just fell asleep, and if you wake him up again, I will kick both of your butts, you got it?" She continued to glare at them harshly for a few more moments before it faded, and a look of embarrassment overcame her as Kasiya's never-ending kaleidoscope of emotions continued to change by the minute. "Um, I'm really sorry. It's just that he's been through a lot and he really needs his rest. I'm sorry," she said, locking her hands together and bowing her head ever so slightly. "We should let him rest, but I'm glad you guys came to check up on him. He's going to be okay once he allows himself to heal," she added, her forced attempt at a smile about as subtle as a Snorlax trying to hide behind a tree. She ushered the two girls out of the room and started them back down the hall, her eyes scanning the upcoming waiting room almost anxiously. "Is um. Is Keegan still here?" she asked tentatively. Facing the redhead so soon after her blatant choosing of Mike in front of him was not something she wanted to be doing right now.
=-=-=-=-= It was hard for Erika not to have noticed just how closely Crenu had been studying her reactions, and she idly wondered if he'd stay for a nice cup of jasmine tea after the battle, like he had last time. If that were the case, she wouldn't mind explaining her unease for the sludge-born Pokemon, but of course, those thoughts should be the last thing on her mind right now. Like last time, Crenu was relentless in his assault, quickly ordering the Muk named Bubbles - a curious name, indeed - to perform a Sludge Bomb attack. The slimy creature was obedient and quick to comply, unleashing several disgusting lumps of toxic sludge that sped through the air toward the Vine Pokemon.
The gym leader's brow furrowed slightly a she thought, momentarily annoyed at herself for not teaching Tangrowth how to use Protect. She didn't have too many options, though, as a pure Poison-type was a very good counter for a pure Grass-type. "Brace yourself, and counter with Sleep Powder," the gym leader called. Just because Tangrowth could not become poisoned with the bright sunlight pouring down on him did not mean that taking a Poison-type attack wouldn't be severely damaging. The hulking mass of vines hunkered down and braced himself, managing to stave off crying out in pain as the toxic sludge sizzled against his vine-entwined body. The large Pokemon reacted quickly, however, standing up tall and sending several long vines swinging out over top of Bubbles, and soon a shimmering rain of blue spores were cascading down toward the Poison-type. Erika knew she could not defeat the Muk with pure power, but if she could turn the tide of battle in her favor, she might just be able to stick it out.

Nina rested her head against the window, staring at the scenery that passed by as the train's wheels rapidly clacked against the tracks at a magnificent speed, causing the miles she was traveling to rack up faster than she was realizing. Anna was asleep in her Pokeball, which was a rare occurrence, and Nina had a lot on her mind, but at the same time, was unable to really find herself able to truly focus on anything; so very much had happened that all seemed to blur together in her mind. After what felt like years worth of torment, Maorde had finally been taken care of, so he wouldn't be bothering anyone anymore-- Nina absentmindedly grabbed her backpack, where she was keeping Maorde in his new doll form. She chuckled to herself; a man who was such a threat for so very long was so very easily taken care of. That isn't to say, however, that the threats which plagued her were completely gone-- she remembered how Sabrina had mentioned Maorde's five understudies, and she couldn't help but wonder where Raimundo ever disappeared off to.
She clenched her jaw and pursed her lips as his name crossed her mind. He had been using her from the very beginning-- and not just her, but Sabrina and Whitney as well, all for his own benefit. To have herself be toyed with like that, when she truly did have feelings for someone-- it infuriated her. She didn't know how or when, but she'd put him in his place. She'd put that slimy, disgusting, pathetic excuse for a human being in his place, and she'd make him regret what he'd done, and--
"Hello already! Earth to Nina! Is anyone home in there?!"
"Gah, jeez!" Nina exclaimed, jolting in her seat and turning her head to the left so quickly that her neck cracked a little bit. "God," she said, rubbing her neck, "what is it, Whitney?" Whitney clicked her tongue, sighed, and rolled her eyes. "I saaaid, what did you think about the PWT conference?" Nina shrugged a little bit. "Well, it sounds like a lot of fun, and it sounds really challenging," she commented. "I'd definitely be interested in giving it a shot at some point in the future."
Sabrina chuckled. "That's all well and good," she replied, "but you're going to be waiting quite a while. After all, the powers that be are still getting everything set up; there's no telling how long it's going to take before everything is finalized and ready. They still have to confer with all the other Gym Leaders from Kanto, Johto, every single region-- it's no simple task, and not to mention that they do have to contact the Champions as well. I do imagine that the Unova Leaders and Champion won't be terribly difficult to get ahold of, however, considering they're all in the same region as the tournament headquarters itself."
The PWT. Unova. Those were such funny words to her-- here was this magnificent new region that she was itching to explore, but the only reason she was even able to go there in the first place was to accompany Sabrina and Whitney for their conferences in the PWT. It was a very interesting prospect-- gathering every Gym Leader from every region in the world and having challengers take them on for fame, for glory, and best of all, for bragging rights.
"Hey, d'you guys think that they'd ever let me participate? As a Gym Leader, I mean." Sabrina shook her head. "I actually asked about that when the staff was conferring with me; they said that while you were watching the Saffron Gym in my stead when I was sort of--" "Dead?" "...Missing. I wasn't actually dead, Whitney; I've explained this to you countless times now." She rolled her eyes. "Anyway, they said that you were recognized by the League as nothing more than a temporary replacement for me in my time of absence, and as a result, you are ineligible to take my place in the World Tournament." "The same goes for Blanca, you know. Sure, she watches the Goldenrod Gym when I'm not there, but at the end of the day, she's just another Trainer-- she isn't an official Gym Leader, but anybody who gets a Plainbadge from beating her is still officially recognized by the League. So, you and her are on the same level."
"Boo," Nina pouted, a little sarcastically. "I think it'd be a lot of fun, though-- I mean, you'd get to be competing against not just Trainers, but the other Gym Leaders of the world!" "Heh. Yes, that'll be quite the challenge... Even though some Leaders in the world, such as Brock and Falkner, only use low-level Pokemon in their Gyms, they still have quite the arsenal of their own personal Pokemon for the tournament. Even though the maximum number of Pokemon that you can use for one match is four, it's still a requirement that you have at least six Pokemon to choose from." "Well, I've got more than six Pokemon!" Whitney shook her head. "She means that you need at least six Pokemon that are roughly the same level. Sure, you've got Anna, Krystal, and Pookie, but all the other Pokemon you have are a heck of a lot weaker than they are. You should look into adding to your team, you know."
Add to my team, Nina thought. I'd love to... Maybe I should raise up Mihoshi some more; that'd at least make four Pokemon on my team. I don't have Beacon anymore since he went back to Mike, so I'd still need at least two additional Pokemon... I wonder what I could use?

Kressen made a sorry face once she mentioned the Pikachu had gotten away. It was fairly rare from what he understood, especially since he lived in the area and only seen a wild one in passing once or twice in all his years there. He smiled though at her congratulations. "Thanks. The little bugger put up quite a fight. I thought for a second Gigas was going to get eaten by it."
Gigas let out a harrumph, before setting his eyes on the Snivy that seemed to be avoiding him. Perplexed he moved forward in an attempt to find out what was wrong. Of course, this could have some later ramifications, but Gigas was a little slow sometimes.
He shrugged at the mention of the fall."No problem I'm used to getting battered and beaten. You learn to ignore it after awhile. So it occurs to me that we never finished that battle because of the arrival of our little bundles of joy. So I was wondering if you wanted to have a battle with our youngest editions?"

Some more time had passed as the train continued down the tracks, bringing the girls closer to their destination: Goldenrod City. Nina found herself staring out the window again, while Sabrina had her arms crossed and eyes closed but was most certainly still awake; Whitney was spending her time listening to music. She wasn't particularly certain as to what the three of them were going to do upon returning to the city, but she knew she'd be content in being back to one of the many places that she was able to call home-- after all, this train ride felt as though it was never-ending. If nothing else, however, it was providing Nina with ample time to brainstorm ideas as to what Pokemon she'd like to add to her team; she had already decided that Mihoshi had been out of her team for far too long, so it was time to bring her back. She smiled at the thought of having one of her oldest companions rejoining her. Still, Nina wanted something new, something fresh... maybe something from that Sinnoh region. She'd yet to visit there, and pondered the prospects of exploring the vast areas and seeing what it had to offer. And hey, maybe she'd battle a few Gym Leaders too; it had been quite some time since she found herself matching wits with a Leader. Battles like that always got her adrenaline pumping, and it was one of the few unparalleled rushes that she couldn't help but want more of. She wanted to--
"--go crazy, crazy, crazy, 'til we see the sun!" "You're not going to live to see the sun if you keep singing." "I know we only met but let's pretend it's love!" "...Whitney." "And never, never, never stop for anyone!" "You can stop for me, thanks." "Tonight let's get some!" "The only thing you're going to get is a punch in the mouth if you don't cut it out." "And live while we're young."
Sabrina's eye started involuntarily twitching. "One of these days," she said, "your singing is going to drive me over the edge and I'm going to bisect you using nothing more than one of Oracle's spoons and my own sheer force. You do realize that, right?" Whitney grinned. "You wouldn't do that. Heck, you can't do that! You don't have any muscles on you." Sabrina's eye twitched again. "Precisely. Hence, your death would be long-suffering and extravagantly painful."
Nina raised an eyebrow as she listened to her sisters bickering; after all, her own train of thought had been interrupted thanks to Whitney's sudden vocal outburst. "What were you even singing, Whitney?" "Singing is one word that you could use to describe those noises. It was one of those songs from that boy band, Five Alignments." "Five Alignments? Who's that?" "Are you serious? They are only the hottest band out right now! Gosh, Nina, don't you watch TV or listen to the radio? "...Evidently not. "That's for the wiser, then. Every other song on the radio is them and sometimes it makes me want to tear off my ears and eat them just so that I don't have to hear them anymore. Meanwhile, this one knows that I can't stand them, so her idea of fun is making those guttural noises to the tunes of their... "music," if you can call it that."
Whitney kicked at Sabrina's shin, but missed due to Sabrina moving quickly enough. "Hey, you better watch it!" she barked; "They're awesome and talented and just super mega foxy awesome hot, okay?" Sabrina pursed her lips a little and raised an eyebrow. "...Sure, Whitney. Whatever you say. Anyway, changing topics to something that doesn't motivate me to want to throw myself out of this train, did either of you have any plans for when we get back to Goldenrod? I know that I'd like to grab a bite to eat, at least; I'm famished." Nina shrugged a little. "Honestly, I hadn't given it much thought. I was hoping that maybe you or Whit would have an idea. It'll probably be getting dark by the time that we arrive." "I've got an idea!" "If you say shopping, I will smack you." "What? No, I wasn't going to say that." Whitney paused for a moment. "I, er. Well, considering all the stress that we've been under lately, why don't we do something different for once and have some fun?" "Oh? Was there something you had in mind to do, Whit?"
Whitney grinned and nodded. "Yep!" she chirped. "See, I heard that they recently opened up this new club in Goldenrod, called The Chrome. From what I hear, it's supposed to be a lot of fun, they play really good music, the people are super friendly, and they let anyone in as long as they're seventeen or older, so that means we can all go!" Whaddaya guys think?" Nina pondered for a moment. "Well, it certainly has been a long time since any of us were able to enjoy ourselves-- if it wasn't one thing tormenting us, it was another. Yeah, I could go for a night out. What about you, Sabrina?" The elder psychic contemplated for quite some time. "I dunno," she said. "Clubs aren't really my forte, you know? I mean, honestly, I can't remember the last time I went out to a club." Whitney chuckled. "Well, that's all the more reason for you to go, then! C'mon, a little fun won't hurt you, Sabrina. It might be just what you need to loosen up!" She sighed. "Well... okay. You know what, sure. I suppose you're right; a night out won't kill me."
Nina grinned a bit. "A Rocket won't kill you, either, apparently. Ow, hey! Don't punch me; it was a joke!"

Sasha and Winona both shot up at Kasiya's sudden appearance, the latter reflexively standing at attention. Her tranquil threats were somehow one of the more frightening things the two girls had heard all day.
"O-oui!" "Yes, ma'am!"
But in typical Kasiya fashion, she could not maintain her more serious demeanor long before apologizing. "Oh, non, non, non!" Sasha said, gently wrapping her arms around the girl, forming a genuinely comforting embrace unlike her standard groping M.O. "We were being sneaky and rude, it iz not your place to apologize. It is ours. We were acting inexcusably. I'm sorry." Sasha looked at Winona expectantly, who responded in kind.
"We didn't mean to disturb you. I don't even know why I came to look." the gym leader mumbled the last part, shifting in place as she talked.
"Oui, oui. Let us let h'eem rest." Sasha said in a gentle tone as she walked with Kasiya, her arm still draped over the girl. "Non, he left some time ago." 'Stomped out' was the more accurate wording, but Sasha figured that was a detail better left out.
The three girls returned to the waiting room. Sasha continued to console Kasiya as Winona stood awkwardly in the background. After a few minutes, the gym leader spoke up.
"If Mike is okay, I'm going to head back home." she nodded towards Kasiya. "If anything changes let me know." Before she turned to leave, Sasha looked up, noticing Winona's expression. She looked down, frustrated even. It was the look of someone who was leaving with unfinished business.
"Au revoir." Sasha said sweetly. "Chao, Frenchie." Winona responded as she headed for the door.

Kasiya smiled meekly and returned Sasha's hug. She was starting to feel the weight of her own exhaustion pushing down on her. "Thanks, you two," she said, nodding to them both, though she wasn't sure why Winona looked so embarrassed. "It means a lot that you guys were here with us today. For everything." She truly meant it, too, for she knew that having two extra trainers they could rely upon had certainly helped Mike out a lot too.
She winced at Sasha's pending answer about Keegan, but she relaxed slightly upon hearing the pink-haired girl's words. It wasn't that she was really glad-glad that the redhead had already left, but more like relief, as she wasn't sure she could face him just yet. Logically she knew that he definitely had good reason to be angry and upset with her, and it was foolish to think that he'd wait around for her, but she couldn't help but cling to the hope that they could still be friends. After all, they'd had a lot of fun times together. The waiting room felt colder and emptier than before, and just looking at those pitiful chairs made Kasiya want to cry. When Winona spoke up, however, she glanced over at the Gym Leader. She suddenly didn't want to be here anymore, as she knew Mike would call her the moment he needed her, and she made sure she had all her things as she moved to follow after the older girl.
"Hey, Winona, wait up," she called, giving one last, lingering hug to Sasha. "Call me if you need me, okay? Even if it's just to talk." She gave the pink-haired girl another squeeze before she looked back over at the Flying-type specialist. "Would you mind if I went with you back to, um, Fortree? I don't really want to stay in Lilycove, and if I remember correctly, it's not too far from here." Recalling the gym leader's awkwardness, she cleared her throat, and continued. "That is, I can just go on my own, if you want. I guess... I don't really want to be flying alone, is all." She felt very small and very childish just then, but it was the truth. She was only going to go to the Pokemon Center, but she didn't want to make the trip on her own.

The sun was falling ever so slowly in the sky; dusk was approaching, indicating that it wouldn't be much longer before the girls reached Goldenrod. Nina yawned and stretched her arms and legs before cracking her neck; while she didn't mind riding on the train, she certainly preferred flying as it was a much faster method of transportation. In any event though, the ride was nearly up and she'd be able to roam about the city. She'd be lying if she said that she wasn't looking forward to heading to The Chrome after getting some food, considering that the last time she did something for her own enjoyment was quite some time ago. I believe that it'll be a good time, she thought. I know Whitney's gonna have a good time, and Sabrina really needs to loosen up. I can't help but to feel that something's bothering her... Oh well. She'll talk about it when she wants to.
Sabrina, who had been slouching in her seat a little, straightened herself up rather quickly and turned her head to look out the window, furrowing her eyebrows. "Something's coming," she announced. Whitney sat up as well. "What? What's coming?" she asked, a hint of concern in her voice. "I'm... not quite sure. Something is waiting for us...? No." She paused. "Not us. Something is waiting for you, Nina." Nina instinctively grabbed for Anna's Pokeball, ready to release the ghost. "Can you tell what it is?" she asked, while Sabrina shook her head. "I'm not sure. I sense malice, I sense corruption. I sense..." She paused again, blinking as her expression changed to that of a puzzled one. "I sense Mew."
"Mew? But why would Mew be doing something bad?" Whitney asked, confused as well. "Mew's one of the purest Pokemon that there is, unless--" Sabrina held up a hand to silence the pink-haired girl and shook her head again. "No, don't worry, Whitney; I'm not sensing that anything is wrong with Mew. It seems, however, Mew's role in this is to oppose that corruption, although that shouldn't come as a terrible surprise. But, what is..." Sabrina's voice trailed off and she closed her eyes and began to concentrate. Nina, who had been holding Anna's Pokeball rather firmly in her hand, finally began to ease up; she did have to let Anna out soon though, as the ghost had been in that ball since they left Unova, and she sensed that Anna was awake now.
Sabrina opened her eyes after a minute or two, but shrugged. "I don't know. I can't quite tell exactly what it is that's going on with Mew, or what did go on, or whatever; the only thing that I can say for certain is that Mew seems to be protecting something through the use of its psychic abilities." "So I'm assuming then that whatever is coming for me is Mew's doing, and therefore isn't a threat, correct?" "Correct. I'm sorry, Nina; I didn't mean to scare you. To be honest, I was just kind of overwhelmed by what I'm assuming must have been Mew's influence and power, hence why my reading on the situation is a little... fuzzy." "Yeah Sabrina, usually everything you see is explained really well, but you were pretty vague with this one." "Well, when you're involved with one of the world's most powerful Psychic Pokemon, then even someone as strong as Sabrina would have a little bit of difficulty in trying to decipher things." "I find it curious that you weren't able to pick up on it, Nina. You didn't feel anything-- no sudden shifts in the air currents or anything at all?"
Nina shook her head. "No, I didn't feel a thing. Do you suppose that maybe Mew only wanted you to know that something was going on?" Sabrina shrugged. "I hadn't considered that. It is possible, yes." "Well anyway, now that we know we don't have anything to worry about, let's let it go. I'm sure that whatever Mew has got in store for Nina will find its way to her just fine." "Mm, you're probably right. We can worry about it later."
Within another fifteen or twenty minutes, a voice came on over the train's PA system as the train's speed seemed to decrease. "Passengers, we would like to inform you that we will be arriving at Goldenrod City within the next few moments. For those of you departing, we kindly ask that you collect your belongings and prepare to exit the train. As always, thank you for traveling with us, and we hope that you will be traveling with us again the future. Thank you, and have a pleasant evening." Nina grabbed her belongings while her sisters did the same, and she released Anna from her Pokeball. The Ghost Pokemon flew about the train, which seemed to be her way of stretching. "Ahh, it feels wonderful to be out of there! And we're almost home-- awesome! I don't know that I could've stood to be on this train for much longer." Nina chuckled, standing up and holding onto one of the train's poles. "Yeah, you and me both." She turned to look at her sisters as the train began to come to a halt. "Got everything?" "Yep; got it all, I think!" "Yes, I've got everything."
The train came to a full stop and Nina, Sabrina, and Whitney made their way to the nearest exit, seeing a few other people get out of the train as well. "Ahh, yaaay!" Whitney exclaimed. "It's so good to be home; I think I'd have gone crazy if I had to be in that train for too much longer!" She danced and twirled around a little bit, giggling happily. Her happiness was contagious; Sabrina smiled a little and rolled her eyes, chuckling to herself. "I swear, sometimes I wouldn't believe that you were a Gym Leader based upon the way that you act." Whitney stopped dancing and put her hands on her hips. "And what's that supposed to mean? I am a perfectly responsible Leader, thank you very much." Nina chuckled as well; "More like a perfectly responsible airhead! Ah-- ow! Stop hitting me! Gosh, neither of you can take a joke today, I swear--"
"Nina, Whitney. Stop it," Sabrina said, her tone turning just a little serious. "It seems as though Mew's little surprise is well on its way to you; I can feel its presence within the city itself. I know that I said I was hungry, but I believe we should look for it before we do anything else. After all, we wouldn't want it to fall into the wrong hands." Whitney tilted her head a little. "But how will we know what the gift is?" she inquired. Nina, who was looking to the sky, found herself with a smile on her face. "Oh, I have a feeling that we'll know it when we see it."
She pointed upwards; in the sky, surrounded by a very soft, pink light, was a Pokemon egg that was floating about with the gentlest ease. It began to descend towards Nina very gracefully, and as it grew closer to her, Nina's smile broadened. She held her arms up over her head, palms wide open and inviting. The egg found its way to its destination-- the hands of the psychic from Blackthorn City. Nina held the egg close to her body ever so tenderly, the same way that she held Mihoshi's egg so very long ago. "It looks like this is what Mew was protecting," she commented, looking down to the egg and then back up to the girls. "Well, it's about time that you got a new Pokemon, Nina!" Anna replied. "You know, Krystal and I are getting super tired of having to carry all the weight of the team; after all, you can't depend on Pookie for anything!" Nina laughed. "Now, be nice. Pookie tries." Sabrina approached the egg and laid her palm on it, a smile on her face. "Congratulations, Nina." Whitney grinned as well; "Yeah, congratulations Nina! You're a mommy!"
The psychic laughed. "Anyway, now that we've got this out of the way, let's get some food! I'm starving."
As Nina and Whitney began walking toward the Goldenrod City Department Store to head to the food court, Sabrina stayed behind momentarily, looking towards the sky.
...Something's coming.

Jasper still hadn't quite settled on a destination upon exiting the Pokemon Center. He was a little surprised at just how eager he was to make his very first gym challenge, as he had no doubt that Jett and Scarlet had at least made it to the gym and were probably challenging this Busgy guy as he walked along aimlessly. He very much wanted to head over to Violet City, though he was admittedly a little worried that his team of weirdos wouldn't be able to handle it, Paras especially, considering that this gym specialized in birds and the little Mushroom Pokemon sported a rather unhealthy double weakness to said fliers. Could Ditto and Totodile handle all those birdbrains on their own? Certainly Zorua was a bit too young, but then again, only yesterday Totodile had seemed that way, too. Perhaps he was underestimating his Pokemon, and he knew that if they knew that, they'd eat him alive in his sleep.
"I guess we're going to Violet City then," Jasper muttered to no one in particular, and he flipped his beaten-up backpack onto the ground to begin the painstaking process of setting up his folding bike, still marveling at how such a thing was even possible. Then again, they could suck living, breathing creatures made of flesh, grass, steel, ice and rock into tiny little spheres so who was he to question these sorts of things? While Jasper was generally a pretty lucky guy, sometimes he did have his moments where Karma would sneak up on him and smack him in the face, only this time, it would be the back of his head. One of the latches on the bike frame decided to lock up for no good reason, so while young Jasper was busy trying to pry it open with his fingers, it was only natural that he wouldn't see the floating ball of gas rocketing toward him at quite an unnatural speed.
Thwack. The over-eager Koffing plowed into Jasper from behind, but like before, she weighed virtually nothing, so in reality, it was like someone had thrown a beach ball at his head and that's exactly what Jasper thought had happened. He stood up and pivoted around quite fast, his angry glare fading when he didn't see any youthful perpetrators laughing at his expense, and he pursed his lips and scratched his chin thoughtfully. A quick look around showed that there was no offending ball to place the blame on either, and for a moment, Jasper started to question his own sanity until he noticed a rather particularly foul odor. Coming from above him. * * * * * * * * * * Hayley smiled, and waved her hand dismissively. "Oh, no, that's highly unlikely. Caterpie are purely herbivores, so I am pretty sure that Gigas was not in danger of becoming lunch, unless of course, he tastes like leaves."
The brunette giggled at her own comment, unaware of the fact that Ivy was beginning to look rather distressed over the fact that the flaming lizard was coming closer and closer to her. "Sni! Vee!" she wailed, throwing up her little hands in what was clearly Pokemonic for "Don't come any closer!"
"Hmm?" Hayley glanced down at the two Pokemon, and she laughed again. "Ooh, Gigas, I don't think she likes your flame," the girl said, pointing at the Charmander's blazing tail. "I think she's a bit scared of you, actually." The Snivy gave a curt nod and darted behind Hayley's legs, peeking out as the taller redheaded human spoke up again. "Ooh, a battle? Between little Odin and Ivy? I think that would be just fine," she said, nodding. "Ivy, are you up for a little workout?" The Snivy seemed to contemplate this, and finally gave another nod, but she waved her hand at the Charmander, clearly not going anywhere until the little firebrand was put at a safe distance from her. "Okay then, we'll do it. Ivy would like Gigas to back off, though," she said, kneeling down to pat the grass type.

Nina was still beaming as she, Anna, and Whitney got to the doors of the Department Store; as they were about to enter, she turned around to find Sabrina catching up to them. "Oops, sorry Sabrina! I didn't realize we were walking so fast." Sabrina shrugged a bit, smiling. "Don't worry about it. Anyway, shall we go in?" Nina nodded, turning back to enter the building, holding her egg close to her heart-- quite literally. "Have either of you thought about what you wanted to grab for food?" she asked, approaching the elevator and pressing the Door Open button. "At this point, I could eat liver and onions and I'd be more than happy with that!" Whitney commented, her stomach making a rather audible growl. "I'm in the same boat, actually; I could go for anything, as long as it fills me up." The elevator dinged and its doors opened; the girls entered, and Nina pushed the button for the top floor. "Hmm. Well, I could go for a cheeseburger and fries right about now, maybe a nice chocolate milkshake too. How's that sound?" Her sisters expressed their approval, and the doors closed shut before the elevator began its ascent to the food court.
When the doors opened, the girls and Anna exited the elevator, and they looked around at the court; all things considered, it was surprisingly quiet tonight. Nina spotted a small burger joint with a rather ordinary-looking sign which read Doublemeat Palace in black, white, and red lettering. Approaching the establishment, which was all but devoid of customers, Nina reached into her pocket with a free hand and pulled out her wallet.
"Good evening and welcome to Doublemeat Palace," the waitress said. "My name is Anne; what can I get for you?" Nina smiled. "Hi, may I have a medium number one with a chocolate milikshake, please?" "Certainly. Did you want whipped cream and a cherry on the milkshake?" "Ooh, yes please." "Alrighty. And how about--" Anne paused for a moment and smiled a little as she turned to look from Nina to Sabrina and Whitney. "Oh, good evening Ms. Whitney, Ms. Sabrina! I didn't even recognize you at first. What can I get for you tonight?" "That's quite all right! Generally, Gym Leaders are supposed to be in their Gyms at this time of day. Incidentally, may I have a cheeseburger, an order of onion rings, and a medium seltzer water?" "Certainly. And for you, Ms. Whitney?" "Hmm, let's see here... I'll take a double cheeseburger, a small order of fries, and a medium Citrus Blast. Oh, and hold the onions on the burger." "Of course." Anne pressed a few buttons on her register; "That'll be $12.22, please."
Nina fished out her electronic funds card, which bore a Pokeball design, and she handed it to Anne. "Okay," she said after sliding the card and handing it back to Nina, "you're all set. It'll be like, five minutes or so, so if you'll take a seat then I'll bring it to you as soon as it's ready." Nina nodded and smiled a little bit. "Okay! Thank you very much." Putting her card back into her wallet, Nina and company walked to a nearby table and sat down, while Anna floated about and passed by a few monitors that were displaying the news. A headline on the bottom of one of the monitors read that a young man with a shaved head and a blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman had been missing for around six months. "So, what Pokemon d'ya think could be in there?" Whitney asked, reaching over to rub her hand on the egg. "No idea!" Nina replied, "But with my luck, it could wind up being a Magikarp or something." Whitney chuckled; "That'd suck. But one thing I don't get-- you and Sabrina are both psychics, so can't you get a read as to what's in there?" Sabrina shook her head. "Well, ordinarily it wouldn't be a problem, but this Pokemon was under Mew's protection-- and, well, I suppose that it still is. Despite the fact that Mew used great judgment in sending this egg to Nina-- and the inevitable other eggs that it released into the world to other Trainers-- it's a possibility that Mew cloaked the eggs so that psychics wouldn't be able to discern what was in there in the event that it contained a Pokemon that its Trainer disliked, causing that Trainer not to take care of the Pokemon." Whitney tilted her head. "So what you're saying is, Mew didn't want the unborn Pokemon to be abandoned. But who's to say that when the egg hatches, its Trainer won't still abandon it?" Nina absentmindedly ran her fingers along the egg. "I actually don't think that that would happen," she replied. "I believe that when a Trainer sees a Pokemon hatching from an egg, they can't help but to feel bonded to that Pokemon. After all, you'd have to be truly heartless to release a newborn Pokemon into the wild. At least, I know that I'd never do that." A smile found its way onto Whitney's face. "And that's why Mew chose you to take care of that Pokemon! You're such a good Trainer, Nina!" The girl grinned a little bit and rolled her eyes. "Knock it off; you're giving me too much credit. Compared to people like Mike and Kasiya, I don't know that I'm anything special. I mean, I've only got a few Pokemon to my merit, and I believe that if you took my psychic abilities away, I really wouldn't have anything that identifies me as, well, as an individual."
"Okay, now it's your turn to knock it off," Sabrina commented, a bit sharply. "Don't fall into the self-pity department again-- you're infinitely more special of a Trainer and a person that you give yourself credit for, you know? Sure, you might not have an army of Pokemon, but did you ever stop to think that maybe that's because you don't need an army? Anna and Krystal absolutely love you and they're going to be loyal to you forever. And Pookie-- well. He's a work in progress, but he'll get there. As far as the psychic abilities go, sure, it's certainly helpful, but that doesn't define who you are. The only thing that defines who you are as a person is your heart, your love, your loyalty and compassion. Sure, you've done some stupid things and made some mistakes, but Nina, that's a part of life that everyone incurs." Nina looked a little embarrassed. "I-I'm sorry, Sabrina. I didn't mean to get all wallowy. Thank you-- you're absolutely right." Whitney grinned widely. "Awwww," she exclaimed, "look at how much Sabrina cares for her little sister. It's so cute." Sabrina raised an eyebrow and opened her mouth to speak, but as she was about to, she found herself cut off.
"All right!" Anne said, balancing a tray of food and drink flat on her right hand. "Sorry that that took a couple minutes longer than I was expecting it to." She grabbed one of the plates with her left hand; "Okay, this is the double cheeseburger sans onions and small order of fries, so that's for you, Ms. Whitney." Anne placed the plate in front of Whitney before grabbing the Citrus Blast off of the tray and handing that to her as well. "For Ms. Sabrina, we've got the cheeseburger, onion rings, and seltzer water," she continued, handing Sabrina her food. "And finally, we've got the cheeseburger, fries, and chocolate shake for-- erm. Oh dear, I'm sorry. I never got your name before." The psychic replied, "That's okay!" as Anne gave her her food; "my name is Nina. I'm Sabrina and Whitney's sister." Anne looked intrigued. "I didn't know Sabrina and Whitney were related!" she exclaimed. "Well, Whitney and I aren't related-- not really, anyway," Sabrina replied. Anne looked a little confused. "Oh, so you're half-sisters, then? Or... third-sisters?" Nina laughed a little bit. "Yes," she replied, "something like that. It's a... well, it's a very, very long story. For all intents and purposes, though, we just refer to each other as sisters. Anne nodded, smiling a little. "Gotcha. So, is there anything else that I can get for you tonight?" Nina replied that they were all set. "Thank you, though. And, it was a pleasure to have met you, Anne." The girl's smile grew a little. "Likewise, Ms. Nina! The pleasure is all mine. I hope to see you again soon." Anne pivoted on her heel and turned to walk back to the Doublemeat Palace.
"Well," Nina commented, taking a bite from her cheeseburger, "she was nice." Whitney nodded in agreement as she shoved a handful of fries into her mouth. Her stomach was thanking her. Sabrina picked at her onion rings, savoring their taste. "I'm already feeling a hundred percent better," she stated; "I suppose I didn't realize just how hungry I was!" Whitney finished chewing her fries and then turned to look at Sabrina. "So," she said, "I'm curious about something, Sabrina." "Oh? What would that be?" "Well, when you were giving Nina that speech earlier, you said that everybody makes mistakes. Sooo, what mistakes have you made?"
There was a long pause. "Well, I--" She blinked, before she caught something out of the corner of her eye. "Nina." She nodded her head in the direction of the egg.
Nina, who was midway through chewing on a bite from her cheeseburger, turned to look at her egg. It was shaking. It was hatching. "Whoa!" she exclaimed, quickly chewing the food that was in her mouth. "Already? I just got it; how can it be hatching already?" Sabrina chuckled. "Not complaining, are you?" she inquired. "It must've been due to Mew's influence." Whitney squealed joyously. "Ahhh, this is awesome! It's hatching, it's hatching!"
Nina watched, unintentionally holding her breath as the egg shook and pieces of the shell began to break off. She felt her heart beating hard inside of her chest as she anxiously waited...

Having already been weakened by his sister's Weavile and her Ice Punch, Dragonair really couldn't do much against the psychic blast that had been unleashed by the Gardevoir. The dragon-type collapsed in a heap, and Jaden didn't hesitate to recall him. "Not bad, Riza, not bad at all," he said, grinning as he switched the poke ball with another. "How will you guys deal with this one?" he asked, grinning broader as he released his feisty Flareon onto the field.
It was kind of a relief to see the Dragonair finally go down, though at her side, Faustus wasn't looking as happy to see his brother get taken out. The fire fox that had been released in his place seemed far too eager to battle, and the timid Dratini cowered a little. "We'll deal just fine," Riza retorted, not at all in the mood for her brother's taunts. "Yula, use Swift," she called, not wanting to waste a second. The Gardevoir gave a nod and sliced her arm through the air, sending a spiral of twinkling, gold stars sailing toward the fire type Eevee evolution.
"You'll have to deal better than that," Jaden laughed. "Flareon, use Dig!" The fire-type gave a bark and practically pounced into the ground, the stars smashing into the ground near the hole where the fox had disappeared. For a moment everything was quite silent, as the Harding siblings stared each other down as they awaited the Flareon's return to the field.
Riza broke eye contact with her brother to focus on her psychic-type, and she sighed. "Yula, get ready to Teleport when it comes out of the ground," she said. 'Then we'll blast them with a Thunderbolt or Psychic attack,' she thought to herself with a slight smile. Yula nodded again and took a few graceful steps back, trying to pinpoint where the Flareon would pop out of the ground. * * * * * It just so happened that Katie would get her wish, as she and her Pokemon managed to make their way through the rest of the cave without incident. She did have to call upon Genki a few times to smash some rocks that were in the way and Noa also came in handy by using her Whirlwind to blow way any obnoxious Zubats that crossed their paths, and before long the orange haired girl emerged onto the same route where she had met her Roselia only a short time ago. It was strange to think that not too much time had passed since she'd left home, but she had already accomplished quite a bit. Two badges and a full team of Pokemon plus one. She'd also met some pretty interesting trainers in that time as well, and they were all quite different, too.
She couldn't help but wonder if she'd made a bad choice choosing to join up with this Team Rocket, but for some reason it had almost seemed wrong to turn Mai's offer down. After all, it wasn't like she planned to go off and be the pinnacle of all evil, like she'd seen on TV, destroying and terrifying and generally causing mayhem. If anything, she more or less wanted Mai to be a mentor of sorts to her, since the woman's strength and confidence had been very alluring. Of course there was also Kilik, and Katie couldn't help but blush at the thought of the dark haired boy. He was also pretty accomplished and she couldn't help but take inspiration from him, especially because of his Electivire, Cable.
Her mind kept her occupied enough to make the trek through to Hearthome safely, and almost instantly Katie felt a little more at ease once she was back in the big city. It wasn't quite as bustling as Jubilife but it was still very busy, and she took her time as she sought out the pokecenter to get healing for the few of her Pokemon that needed it. * * * * * Jasmine found herself tensing up as little Miharu recalled her Starmie, for she had no idea which Pokemon would be coming out next. Her eyes went wide, however, when she saw the Metang, as so far Miharu had seemed to be sticking solely with Johto native Pokemon. The gym leader had raised a pretty fearsome Metagross herself and she knew that even the pre-evolved Metang could be pretty fearsome. This one, however, didn't quite seem to fit the bill as it was currently doing some sort of dance, much like a ballerina. This was a bit odd to Jasmine as her Metang had never acted that way before but then again all Pokemon had different personalities.
The odd steel-type seemed to snap out of it when Miharu gave it a command, and it wasn't a little one, either. The Iron Claw Pokemon slammed the ground and it began to crack and shake and soon Jasmine's Magneton was being assaulted by bursts of rock and chunks of debris. To say that the dual steel/electric-type was rattled was a bit of an understatement, and she knew that the only reason it was still able to go on after the Earthquake was because Tingle was not a fully evolved Metagross so therefore didn't have that same massive attacking power. Another Earthquake, however, would most likely end it for sure. "Okay, Magneton, fight back with Thunderbolt," the gym leader called. It was probably her best option right now, and she could only hope that her final Pokemon would be able to fend off the Metang since it was likely to defeat her Magneton. The triple magnet Pokemon unleashed a powerful bolt of concentrated electricity at Tingle, immediately drifting upwards after it did so, clearly having no interest in being hit by another one of those ground shaking attacks.

Winona had all but made it out of the door when she was stopped by Kasiya's request. "Uh, sure." she said with an apathetic shrug. "It's not far at all. Just a bit northwest from here." The gym leader gave the meek girl a quick side-eyed glance before turning back around. This is the same girl that thoroughly trashed Team Magma? Mike's friends were so strange. Bipolar, the whole lot of them. And that Sasha girl. Winona shook her head. She needed to get out of here before she got infected with all of the crazy.
Winona stepped outside, cycling through her Pokemon in her mind. No doubt about it, this was time for a slightly more relaxing flight. The Gym Leader released her Altaria, giving the dragon a small pat on the head before climbing on and lifting off. Winona circled above as she waited for Kasiya, then made her way northwest towards home. She remained silent in transit, which only took about twenty minutes, always keeping slightly ahead of her flying partner.
When they reached Fortree, Winona touched down outside her Gym and recalled Altaria. She once again waited for Kasiya to catch up before giving the girl a small wave goodbye. "Good work today, Kasiya. I look forward to an actual challenge from you someday." she added a weak smile at the thought. "Just don't think I'll go easy on you." She raised her goggles and removed her helmet before turning and walking into her gym. "See you around."
------
Back at the hospital, Sasha decompressed onto one of the waiting room chairs, letting out an obnoxiously loud sigh. She tilted her head back, her neck curving over the rim of the chair. There was a satisfying pop. "Z'here it is!" she exclaimed, sinking further into her chair. Her skirt rolled up as the pink-haired girl lazily flopped onto the floor. She grunted in frustration. "Z'his iz not good." she said, her words muffled by the hair in her mouth. "I must do somez'hing to wake up." A thought popped into her head. She was in the biggest city in the region. Her! Sasha Jennings Beauchamp IV! The world was her Cloyster! Sasha rose to her feet, her hair still clumped and wild from the static on the floor.
"Tonight, I will take z'his town by storm!" she cheered. It was then that she realized that might not have been the best thing to say in Lilycove. "Uh, I mean, I will take it like, um, a young and reckless youth?" Still a bit too soon. "I'm...I'm just going to go to a club and dance." Sasha said meekly, hanging her head and walking out the door.

Upon making it to the pokemon center Robin handed over her pokemon to the nurse to get them healed, well all of them except for Zuko who she kept cuddled up to her chest. Squatting down so she was eye level with the little girl again she gave her a friendly smile before asking her what her name was in an easy way.
"Amelia." The little girl whispered looking over at Robin a bit nervously. "Are your pokemon really cute?" Even if she was scared the prospect of cute pokemon seemed to get her pretty excited.
"Zuko's cute isn't he?" Robin held out the sleeping bug to her for inspection a big grin on her face. Off to the side Ampersand rolled his eyes and figured he would go take a nap or something for this little adventure. As he walked away the baby Larvesta seemed to wake up and was greeted with being a little girls squeals of fear. Panicking slightly the horns on top of his head flared up a bit a few embers cracking out of them. The whole episode had Robin hastily pulling the now defiantly confirmed fire/bug type back to her and trying to calm the little girl down. Apparently little girls didn't like bugs being shoved in their faces, even bugs as cute as Zuko was.
"Bugs! Bugs are not cute!" Amelia cried giving Zuko the stink eye which the torch pokemon was all to eager to return.
"Zuko's cute." Robin muttered as she gently pet the Larvesta in her arms, careful to avoid the whorled and still heated horns on his head. Just then the nurse called her name and before she could even turn around Luffy had bounded over her other four pokeballs in his tail hands. Robin suddenly felt a wave of nerves at the thought of showing her pokemon that might not be cute enough to Amelia.

Following the older man into the newest arena Dante just cast a look back at Angelic to show her he wasn't to happy with this. "So what are the rules here? Are we ju-"
"No more talking battle now!" The man snapped at him as he pulled out his own pokeball and tossed it out to reveal a battle scared Machamp.
At the sight of the Machamp, Dante felt that this battle was actually going to be serious. Frowning he briefly wondered what pokemon he should use. In the end there wasn't much choice on what pokemon to use. This wasn't even a good match up, or even a good arena for him but other then Kenny he didn't have any pokemon strong enough to give this Machamp a fight. "Apollo, let's do this." Dante called out releasing the shiny Rapidash. Both of the pokemon eyed each other from across the small arena. Dante could just hope that even though the arena was small the Machamp might not want to grab onto the flaming horse. There wasn't much luck in that though.

At seeing Jason's pokemon choice Roark let out a hardy laugh. "Ah sorry, I am not laughing at your pokemon. I just like your choice on starting pokemon is all." Roark grinned as he tossed out his own pokeball to reveal his own Onix. The gym leaders rock snake pokemon was a little different as it was covered in battle scars from long battles and even longer days in the mine. "Anyway. Don't mind me taking the first move." Roark grinned as he looked up at his trusty Onix. "Let's start this off with your Curse." Roark watched as his own Onix let out a hearty roar as his body started to glow with power, The rock type pokemon seemed to grow bulkier as his attack and defense rose up, the only downfall though was that his speed fell. "Now let me see just how tough your Onix is."
