The formation of the Joltik's would change in an instant as they moved from defence to offence. The leader Joltik would fall back behind his fellows, the hairs on his body standing on end as he closed all fours eyes and began changing colour. First grey, than blue, followed be a trippy mixture of yellow, purple, and acid green. Camoflauge, a move which allowed one to better match their surroundings, not only in colour, but in type! He was stripping his body of the weaknesses held by his companions!
Then next to act would be the Calm and Gentle pairing originally at the back. Each stepping to the side to provide themselves with a clear shot at the target they would go about their individual tasks. Static dancing about his short fur the male would begin loosing thread from his spinneret, transferring it to the front and weaving it in to something with his mandibles. When he released it it would be in the form of a net...no, a Spider Web! It would seem they didn't want Gilles escaping so easily! On the opposite side the Female had simply been starring at the Omanyte, her eyes blank as if lost in a trance...until they began blinking in multiple hues. The Omanyte would feel a tiny pinch at the back of his mind, like he was forgetting something...she was attempting to infiltrate his mind, to remove his most dangerous attack with Disable!
Finally released by her companions the Adamant female would rage forth like an incarnation of fury itself! With eyes of crimson which should have been blue she flung herself forward with toxin dripping from between her mandibles, staining her limbs as she leaped at Gilles with an unintelligible cry! She sought to hammer the first blow home with Cross Poison!
While all of this was going on the more mirthful of the Joltik's had already made his way up one of the walls, stealthily avoiding even the trainers gaze as he got behind them. The roguish Pokemon had used his own companions as a distracting, and while all eyes were on them he'd strike out with a Faint Attack!

Gilles' Aurora Beam is Disabled! ((12-3)+(8-14)) = 3/2 = 1.5, round up (I think) to 2, Gilles takes 2 damage from Adamant Joltik! Also poisoned! Jolly Joltik didn't miss since I ******** up but didn't actually do any damage because I'm an idiot! -1 to Jolly Joltik's attack! Maybe! Yay exclamation points!
To be fair, that could have gone worse. And probably would, given the way these kinds of battles went. Vanni bite her lip, wishing she could call out more Pokemon so to keep from letting Gilles take the brunt of it all. It was simply poor tactics to allow this kind of situation. But then, what kind of Academy student could she call herself if she didn't at least attempt playing by their rules? At least her Pokemon still had an attack... even if his strongest was out of commission for the moment. "The one who missed you-- the happy one," she remarked, deciding to change tactics for the moment. "Tie him down."
Gilles began to make the strangest giggling noise as he rubbed his tentacles together, eyes alighting on the Joltik who's faint attack had be an unsuccessful feint. As much as he enjoy his icy blast, there was something so... delicious about getting up close and personal with your enemy. Wiggling, he samba'd towards the roguish male, tentacles reaching to constrict his movement.
((Two things lass. 1. Feint Attack literally can't miss...however due to difference in ATK Vs DEF stat it didn't do any damage. 2. Gilles is poisoned.))
The Jolly Joltik actually shuddered in response to his opponents gaze. Mate was looking at 'im like...well...a mate, and that was just all kinds of creepy. Tensing his muscles the Joltik would leap in to the air, hoping to hit one of the overhanging maintenance pathways and escape in to the shadows.
At the same time the team's leader would spring in to action, slamming in to the side of his companion to knock him away and place himself in the line of fire. He would take what his team-mates could not, and by the look in his four eyes it was clear even tentacles didn't scare him!

(16-4)+(9-8 ) = 13! Gilles does 13 damage to Jolly Joltik! Jolly Joltik is at 3! Jolly Joltik's speed is lowered by one! Gilles' Aurora Beam is still Disabled! Gilles takes two damage from poison!
Giggling, Gilles piroutted around the tough and hardy leader, landing fleshy bits first on the fleeing Joltik. Cooing, he snuggled close, his own (now slightly purple-tinted) eyes staring deeply into zap-spiders own. [I love your scalp,] he whispered. He gave the bug what he considered a "love squish"-- the kind of spine-snapping sensation that your average masochist just loved.
But the other buggy members of the group probably weren't so fond of, unless her Omanyte accidentally unlocked a hidden enjoyment. Vanni glanced back, wondering how this next phase would go. Sure, they had injured (and fairly well) one member of the squad, but the others remained, and they probably wouldn't take too kindly to Gilles... being Gilles, for lack of a better term. "There is a time and place for cuddling; it is not now," she remarked, hand firmly on her cane. "Release, tuck, roll four o'clock."
[Until we me again, darling!] trilled the shellfish, pleasantly dropping the Joltik from his tender bits. With a bizarre bit of writhing, the Omanyte would tumble backwards diagonally from the rest of the yellow bugs. Despite his poisoned status, the Omanyte seemed to be having the time of his life.
For a time the formerly Jolly Joltik would just stand there quivering. He felt so very...violated. Words didn't describe it. No amount of therapy, mind bleach, or worse yet even shinies would ever manage to make this feeling go away. It was like mere physical contact with the thing had tainted his very soul.
Still there was work to be done, and the rest of the team hadn't forgotten that. Jumping to one side the Gentle Joltik would carefully release a large rope of String Shot, attempting to tie down Gilles from one side. A moment later the Omanyte would have another shot coming at him from the other side, this time from the Jolly Joltik. Seemed the team was trying to tie the prehistoric Pokemon down.
Immediately following this would be the Calm Joltik, all the hair on his body rising up, sharpening, and then releasing in a spray of deadly needles! Pin Missile in all it's glory. Following seconds behind the barrage was the Adamant Joltik, charging in recklessly with another Cross Poison. She meant to plow in to him head first, adding insult to injury...or perhaps just further injury.
Last in the joined assault would be the leader, striking out from his position behind Gilles. Having chased after his companion the Omanyte had turned his back on the Joltik, and he was about to pay for it with a literal pain in his (technically non-existent) a**! Leech Life, the only attack he actually knew!

(20-12)+(8-14) = 2! Hardy Joltik does 2 damage! Adamant Joltik misses! Calm Joltik hits! 2 damage! (1 attack of out a possible five) Gilles' Aurora Beam is still Disabled! Gilles takes two damage from poison!
Suddenly, spider-pile. Though Gilles's supremely tactical manevuers helped him avoid the silly string and another taste of poison, it wasn't enough to avoid all three hits. The calm Joltik's first pink hit him square between the eyes, and the hardy Joltik latched on and drained. The creature shuddered a bit; finally, the shellfish seemed to be noticing his damage. But his eyes lit up with a most curious look. [This feeling... this taste...] he murmured from his prone position.
Vanni bit her lip, running calculations. They were very close to taking out that one Joltik... if she could strike one down, that might scatter and demoralize them. But Gilles was looking weak... if she had a poison heal, she would have given it to him, but she didn't. She'd have to make a decision... hopefully one she wouldn't regret. "Gilles! Constrict that Joltik again!"
[IT'S MAGNIFICENT!] The Omanyte's booming voice rang out in the sewers. [HOW RARE TO FEEL SUCH... PAIN! SUCH BEAUTIFUL PAIN!] He flipped back up onto his "feet" and spun around to the not-so-Jolly Joltik. [YOU! LET ME GIVE YOU ANOTHER TASTE!] Laughing hysterically, he ran towards the spider in question, writhing like something under the bed.
">Not if ya was Zapdos 'imself!<" The Jolly Joltik would retort before leaping off and away, he wanted to be plenty far from the Omanyte when it struck and it wasn't afraid to get his feet wet in the name of that. Releasing a quick shot of string the insect would actually dear swing out and over the toxic pool which surrounded the generators main platform. Course so long as the string held he wouldn't be going for an actual dip any time soon.
Meanwhile Gilles might find pursuit a little difficult. Strapping himself down with a few bits of sticky silk himself the Hardy Joltik would thrust his one free limb down upon one of the Omanyte's many tentacles in an attempt to hold him there. Defense didn't always mean simply taking the hit.

Gilles' Aurora Beam is still Disabled! Gilles takes two damage from poison!
The Hardy Joltik wouldn't find it too hard to hold the shellfish down. Weakened from the repeated attacks and the poison, all Gilles could do was struggle vainly. Panting sharply, he turned his gaze to the spider holding him down. [Getting... jealous?] he hissed, eyes wild and bugged-out. [If you wanted me to stick around... you could have just asked.]
Behind him, the petite trainer was resisting the urge to swear viciously-- it wouldn't help anything, even if it would help her feel better. She had made a decision, and it had been a poor one. If her Pokemon had to suffer for her own stupidity... no. She wouldn't entertain that sort of thought right now. "Just focus on getting away! Towards me!" she ordered, green eyes slightly manic.
The Omanyte gave a mock-dramatic sigh, obviously not taking the situation as seriously as his trainer was. With a full-body shrug, he attempted to yank himself away from the Hardy Joltik and towards Vanni.
The Omanyte would however find that getting very far away was more then a little difficult, all at once four of the Joltiks would fire off a barrage of String Shots, the high tensile ropes of silk intersecting and creating a net meant to hold the Omanyte in place. Even the Adamant Joltik was among them, though it seemed to required a rough strike to the head by one of her fellows.
The only one whom would attack would be the leader, having acted in unison with his team. When Gilles tried to escape the insect would bite down, attempting to drain away what little life the prehistoric beast still had!

(17 - 2) + (8 - 14) = 9! Gilles is at -3 HP! Gilles is unable to battle!
[Heheh... I'm usually one the other end of the bondage...] Gilles hardly seemed to be struggling at this point as more and more sticky stuff piled high upon him. He gave a most bizarre and unsettling moan as the Hardy Joltik bit down, draining him slowly but surely. With his last breath, he stared the leader right in the eye. [Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn,] he whispered in a tone halfway between terrifying and seductive, before promptly passing out. Dreaming darkly~
For one awful moment, Vanni stared at Gilles inert body, fearing worse. But the white light would come as it did, pulling his unconscious body back to her. She breathed a sigh of heady relief, but the feeling would be gone as soon as it came. She still had this blasted horde to deal with. Making another quick decision (and hoping she wouldn't regret it more than she was this one), she called out a poof of plumage. "Urvogel! Quick Attack, that one!"
The Archen shook out his feathers, taking a moment to get his bearings. When he noticed the Joltik horde before him, he tilted his head to the side. [I fight food?] he remarked, seeming mildly confused. Still, what the Green Lady said went. His beady eyes followed her eyes to the spider in question... a slightly bedraggled-looking one who looked like he might have just run into that Omanyte of hers. A Jolly expression would probably fit him better. Ah, but what was he thinking about this for? Urvogel rushed swiftly forward at his target with a Quick Attack!

All at once the Joltik's seemed to hiss at the declaration of being 'food', it would seem the Archen had managed to rile them up with that one. As before the originally Jolly Joltik would do his best to escape up the walls and out of sight. Unlike before however the Hardy Joltik would not get in the way. He was a little busy from being feared by the Omanyte and was having trouble breaking it.

+1 to Jolly Joltik's Defense
To be outsped by food! How completely shameful! If Urvogel had had a mother, she probably would have been disappointed in him. Instead, he merely grumbled a bit, shaking out his feathers. Fair was fair, he supposed. Behind him, he heard the girl give her familiar order: "up". Flight for the flightless, he turned tailed and lept, aiming to cling to the loose cables and scale his way away from the little herd of fluffy spiders.
Unfortunately for the rock skinned pigeon the Joltik were far better adapted to these particular surroundings, giving chase with ease. From all over the room the five Joltik guardians would release a thread of sticky string; not to bind their foe, but rather to swing and climb there way to the very place he was heading! Then all at once using the magnificent jumping ability for which they were known all five would leap at him, intending to bite down and steal his sweet sweet life giving fluids! It was a Leech Life times five!

((15-9)+(8-9))/2+((12-9)+(8-9))/2+((18-9)+(8-9))/2 = 8! Urvogel is at 11 HP!
[But... food eat me..?] The Archen was clearly baffled by the situation. Bugs draining his precious bodily fluids was not a common incident back where he was from. This veritable mountain of fluffy spiders are clining to him and sucking on him as distinctly strange. (He was very suddenly struck with the realization that had his fellow fossil Pokemon been in his place, this whole scene could have been much more distressing. Or funnier.) Still, he had hears (or at least a hearing ability, and he was still on his feet. Taking cues from the Green Lady, he lunged forward to Quick Attack his prior Jolly prey, before it could escape again!
