Penelope shakily entered the Library, heading immediately for the fiction section, where she proceeded to yank a copy of "Arabian Nights" off the shelves... literally. A flash of pain shot through her right hand as she tried to take the book off the shelf, and it fell to the floor with a muffled thump. "O-ow." She muttered to herself. The adrenaline from her anger was wearing off, and she was beginning to feel a rather painful throbbing sensation in her hand. In fact, her knuckles looked a little red...

She sighed and picked up the book with her left hand. It was worth it. She hoped her stupid brother had a black eye for a week. She carried the book to the nearest table, sitting down uncaringly and clumsily flipping it open. She may be a boy/girl who was currently stuck as a girl, going to a supernatural school full of absolutely everything and anything that humans usually believe to be imaginary... but she was still not left handed. She sighed exasperatedly, leaning over and letting her face hit the table. She needed... a nap or... a chocolate bar or something. Ever since she had come to this school, it had been mostly chaotic and stressful for her. Next time she had any free time whatsoever, she was going to go to her room... Her sister/brother's room, and just, curl up into a ball for a weekend.

"Acta est fabula, plaudite!"

Markus decided the library would be the best place to go between classes, since he was sure it was always quiet. And books. He needed more. He finished three large piles in a couple of weeks, so now he needed to find a few in the library that he hadn't yet read. When he walked into the library, the first thing he noticed were arms flailing. What.

"Um..." He stared at Tshila for a moment, wondering if he should approach her about the silly male that was after her. But that wasn't as big of a concern as the concern he felt for her sanity. She must have gone batty or something, because she was doing propeller arms while reading. Very straaange... He was definitely going to leave her alone for now, especially after he flicked his tongue out and sensed a warm entity nearby.

He couldn't quite tell if the person in question was completely asleep or not, but regardless, they definitely shared his desire to sleep. He crept up behind the girl and tilted his head to the side so he could try to get a good look at her face and see if she was awake... nope. Couldn't tell. Her face was a blur thanks to his terrible vision. His tongue flickered in irritation, but asleep or not, it didn't matter to him. Body heat was nice regardless. So he sat in the chair next to her and rested his head on the table as well. After waiting a moment, he scooted closer... and closer... and kept that up until either she would say something or he was content with the warmth.

Tshila decided to go sneak to the pool room and see if maybe she could practice by herself for a bit so she returned her swimming book and headed out of the library. On the way out, she saw Markus and Penelope and would have waved but they seemed to be doing something...weird. Maybe it was a strange game. Oh well! Since their heads were down and they couldn't see her, she just left quietly, not wanting to interrupt them.

She stepped into the hall and headed to the --ooh! Something shiny!

Penelope sighed again, turning her head to the side to allow her to get more air into her lungs and opening her eyes- "GAH!" She yelped in surprise. There was a, a boy! Inches away from her face! When did he get there? How long had he been there? What was he doing there? She jumped back, a little too far actually, falling off of her chair and hitting the floor with a muffled thump. "Ow!" She glanced down at her bruised hand. Being her dominant one, she had attempted to use it to break her fall... Bad idea. The pain shot up her arm like a lightning bolt, and she took a moment to cradle her injured appendage in... well, her other hand before struggling to her feet and carefully sitting back in her chair, looking at the boy inquisitively. "Can... Can I help you?" She asked blankly. She was NOT in the mood for another randomly bizarre student to be attempting to sacrifice her, or trying to seduce her with their vampire charms. She really hoped the guy was... normal, although given the circumstances, that seemed highly unlikely. "W-what I mean is: Was there something you ah, you needed?"

"Acta est fabula, plaudite!"

Markus jumped slightly when the girl suddenly yelped in his ear. He reluctantly lifted his head to give her a confused look, but she wasn't there to look at for very long. He blinked and watched as she fell out of her chair, making no move to catch her or help her up. It was her fault she fell, after all. Not to mention the fact that he didn't have her body heat to curl up next to anymore.

He stared at her as she cradled one of her hands, flickering out his tongue and sensing that her knuckles were warmer than the rest of her hand. Hm. So she was an aggressive girl? Maybe it was a bad idea to disturb her. He frowned at her when she returned to her seat, replying with a slight hiss, "Yes, you can help me. By not moving." Really, he was almost comfortable when she fell too.

He noticed the book on the table in front of her, and without even bothering to ask, snatched it up to see what book it was. "Arabian Nights, hm?" Of course, it was a very Markus thing to do to read something so well-known a thousand times over and do a ridiculous amount of research on it just to show off his knowledge. And he finally had the opportunity to do that. "One of my favorite collections of stories. Especially since it inspired Lovecraft because, honestly, who doesn't love Cthulhu?"

Penelope blinked. Did he... did he just hiss at her? Really? Okay... what was he then? Definitely not human, although by this point, She was certain that that was something she could just assume. "Not... Moving?" She repeated hesitantly. "Er... Okay... Sorry?" The way the boy had talked to her, it was as if her moving was... almost offensive or something, or at least an irritation? What was with that? He was the one who had snuck up on her! Well... She didn't have anywhere to be. Might as well just humor him. She leaned forward, resting her chin on her- Ow! She started, quickly sitting back in her chair. Stupid, she hadn't been paying attention and had ended up leaning on her injured hand. She gingerly poked at her knuckles with her good hand, wincing. Maybe... she should go to the infirmary?

"Oh..." Penelope said as the boy began spouting information. "I ah... I actually haven't read it yet. I was just about to, to start." She smiled apologetically. "... Um, Cthulhu?"

"Acta est fabula, plaudite!"

Markus grinned when she actually apologized for moving, very amused. Of course, he had been expecting an apology, but at the same time, he didn't think she would understand why he was upset. She must have been either really passive or really confused. Possibly both. He leaned back in his chair, noticing that every time her hand came into contact with something, she winced. He would offer to take her to the infirmary but... nah. Too much effort and he doubted he would get anything in return.

Hm. So she hadn't read it yet? Figures. It was fairly lengthy, even for him. "Good luck with that. You have a thousand and one stories to go through, and even more if you got one of the expanded versions," He said with a slight frown, before she questioned Cthulhu. She must be daft! "Cthulhu. An Old One. Big tentacle-y, divine creature?" Well, maybe she just hadn't read any of Lovecraft's stories. He would have to lend her a co-- No. It was his copy, and he wasn't about to lend it to some stranger. He wouldn't even lend it to a friend if he had one.

"Your hand," He just had to bring it up, because it was bothering him now that she was just poking at it like that. "I would lick it better for you, but the last time I tried that on someone, they thought I was trying to eat them," Definitely a true story there. Of course, he didn't mention the fact that he had tried to eat them beforehand... but still, it was true.

Penelope stiffened. "Eat them?...." Her mind flashed back to her encounter with Professor Gray. He had mentioned something about some of the students having... interesting diets. But this boy said that they THOUGHT he was trying to eat them... because he... he...

"Um... It's fine really." She lied, sticking her hand under the table and turning her full attention to this... strange character. "Um, lick it better? Does that... Uh... Do you... That doesn't actually work does it?" She edged infinitesimally away from the boy. Maybe, whatever culture or... species he was from didn't think that was creepy... She kinda did. "U-uh, yeah! I um... I was just interested in the book cause, ah, w-ell, it's something I've always wanted to read I guess..." She looked back down at the table awkwardly. "I'll ah... have to look up the um, Cthulhu stories sometime..."

"Acta est fabula, plaudite!"

Markus's eyebrows furrowed when the strange student focused on the eating part, and not the fact that the person was wrong. Mostly. She seemed almost... nervous about it? There was no need for her to fear being eaten by him. Unless... she was a bird too? He watched her suspiciously as she hid her injured hand away from him, tempted to try to lick it just to get revenge for... whatever she may do later that would irritate him.

"Saliva has healing properties doesn't it? Isn't that why animals lick their wounds?" He answered her question with a couple of his own, not exactly sure if it worked the way he thought it did. It was common for his species to lick wounds, but he wasn't sure. And that didn't matter, because he did catch her move away from him, even if it was ever so slightly.

"Mm..." He didn't reply to her interest for the book, not really caring about her reason for picking the book. He stared her down for a long moment before suddenly jumping up to his feet and reaching for her injured hand, half because he wanted to see what she would do, and half because he had a sneaking suspicion that she may be part bird.

"I... I don't know. Seems like a reasonable assumption." Penelope said, edging slightly farther away from the boy. Now he was just making her plain nervous, the way he was looking at her. "I'm not... I'm not a expert in biology... or whatever that would be um... Classified as..."

She started when the boy jumped to his feet, squeaking in surprise as she swiftly moved her injured hand away from his grasp... and straight into the edge of the table. A jolt of pain ran up her arm and she yelled, sticking her injured hand underneath her other armpit and leaning forward, letting her forehead come back down onto the table as she squeezed her eyes tightly shut. "G-ah..." She gasped, the corners of her eyes stinging as tears began to form. "Wh-... What it wrong with... Why would you do that?" She clenched her teeth. "Ow... " Going to the infirmary crossed her mind, but then again, she had just given her brother a black eye... most likely. She didn't want to take any chances in seeing him there.

Entering the library Monica noticed the boy that had poked his tongue at her in the machine shop. She decided that she wanted to read, she found a nice comfortable seat in the library and settled down and got her head stuck in the world of dragons and castles within the books she read.

"Acta est fabula, plaudite!"

Markus tried very hard not to laugh when she jumped and apparently hit her hand on something. Dumb bird. He would find out for certain if she was a bird one way or another. His tongue flickered out as he glanced over at a clock... and couldn't read it. How irritating. It felt like it was almost time for class though, but he still had a wounded possible bird to eat deal with.

"Because I'm onto you and I will eat you..." He told her with a hiss before lightly patting her head, at least feeling a little bit of sympathy towards her pain. Just because he wanted to eat someone didn't mean he wanted them to suffer. But if she hadn't gone to the infirmary already, then there must have been some reason she was avoiding it. "I'm sure some teachers keep ice in their classrooms that you can use for your hand," If he was wrong, then it sucks for her. "I will... see you again later," He said as he left for the exit, wondering if he could sneak into some other room and avoid going to class.

The color drained from Penelope's face as Markus spoke to her, stiffening as he patted her hair before swiftly leaving to room. He was... onto her? What did that even mean? Nevermind, she was more worried about the fact that the boy had just said that he wanted to EAT her. EAT her... did that count as some sort of threat? It must right? Right? She waited until she was certain he was gone before quickly grabbed her bag with her left hand this time, leaving the copy of Arabian Nights on the table as she hurried out of the library to her next class. She hoped her hand healed quickly... she may end up having to punch someone again...

Ihsan had been planning to go the cafeteria, but he got distracted by a wondrous place. A place of untold wonders and a vast wealth of knowledge. The library.

He'd just been passing by, but the doors had been open and it caught his eye and about ten books later, he was still there, buried in a history book, rapidly turning pages as he went quickly through the text. So much information about mortals and their ways and their cultures and their history and myths and legends.

He decided he was going to live here. In a tent. He just needed to find a suitable place for a camp fire.

Penelope entered the library, setting down her cup of tea at the nearest table and heading over to the fantasy section. This time, she pulled a copy of the hobbit from the shelves. She had read it at least four times, but it was one of her favorite books, so there was always room for a fifth. She sat down, setting the book carefully to the side before taking a sip of her "Mango passion delight" tea... bleh, disgusting. She moved the tea to the side, and picked up the book. Well, her brother may have run her out of the student lounge, but he couldn't run her out of middle earth.

She opened the book and began to read, wondering how far she could get before it was time for her next class.
