With the learning and application of the scope completed Aruil pressed on to the next lesson. To his dismay he found a series of items to learn for adding devices to creations which required him to learn a technique beyond his capability at the moment. In fact the only left for the teen to study on his own was how to build concussion grenades. After reading through the description of what the device did, Aruil couldn't help but wonder if he was already supposed to know much more than he did prior to attempting to be a Mechanist. In the end though he found himself gathering the needed supplies from elsewhere in the training area and giving it a solid attempt. The gathered gun powder was definitely a new thing for the teen and one he was somewhat eager to master.

Aruil found that again his abilities were being tested as he worked towards the construction of a concussion grenade. Being able to manipulate and distort the parts with the magnetize ability made the work much more manageable. Unfortunately his lack of experience led the young human to make several small errors in the manufacturing of the weapon. Too much powder caused the casing to be turned into too lethal of fragmentation while too little powder caused it to not provide the necessary effect of disorienting. It was becoming fast apparent to the teen that his knowledge needed to be much broader than simply mechanics if he was to thrive in his profession. As Aruil worked on bits and pieces of knowledge gained from experience started to lend themselves to him. Slowly.

The progress for making functional concussion grenades was slow but steady. Aruil had managed to get the amount of powder and size of device ratio to the desired level. Despite the tomes having an example recipe, the teen felt it more advantageous to trial and error on his own. The next hurdle that the young man had come across was the dilemma of figuring out how to best time and fuse the weapon. While conventional grenade construction wasn't an entirely new concept to the teen, it wasn't something he had ever tried. Thus the relatively simple design became a relatively difficult task. One that had a bomb almost explode in the grip of his hand. Despite being non-lethal, the explosive would still cause major damage if not detonated away from exposed flesh.

With the books provided from the vampire teacher still laid out before him, Aruil finally managed to make a functional concussion grenade. The to-standard device was being slowly rolled through the teen's hands as an inspection for any defects. To his satisfaction there were none. The mixture of explosives was done properly, the size and shape of the canister was correct, the timing device had no defects, and it was ergonomic. Happy with his work the young human clipped the weapon to the back left side of his belt and proceeded to clean up the books he had been given. Once he had everything cleaned from his work space around the small boulder, the male walked back over to the vampire. With a bow he presented himself once more, "Ma'am, Aruil bin Raheem. I've completed all of the 'D' and 'E' tasks outlined in these books that I am able to. Several of them require the completion of a 'C' ranked task and therefore I was unable to accomplish them."(Concussion Grenade Learned)

Maria look back to the boy, speaking to her about finishing his training. A appropriate thing to do is give him a mission for his rank up, but at the moment she didn't have anything. "Very well, that's all i can help you to learn until you reached Novice rank... The Captain will help you with that. She's actually hoping that one day a Mechanic would appear. Go seek her out, she would more than happy to help you... I believe she often spend some time at the bar. Her name go's by 'Pix Ban' and she's the one with black hair. You can't miss her." She told him.

The teen gave one final bow the vampire. The teen then turned and departed from the woman and the training area. Along the way his mind considered a variety of things. The first being that he could not understand why a woman that was unable to assist any of the three trainees that she was responsible for, was responsible for them. Next his mind went over the statement about him needing a mission to acquire a higher rank. Given that Aruil had just begun to train, it was odd to him that he would be considered for a higher rank. With the abilities that he currently possesed the male was hardly worth much.
And finally he couldn't keep but thinking about the fact that there were obviously so few mechanists that even one as weak as him was useful somehow. Aruil played over all these thoughts and more as he set out for Captain Pix.

DevrinGoldheart Class: Mechanist | Bloodline: Draconian | Rank: Trainee | Str/Spd: 10/4 | Nation: Yuran | Energy: 350/350 | Ammo 60/60 Devrin was read the book again, he realized that he was a rare case in that he looked more Dragon than Human. He wondered to himself how he'd look as a Human. He began to think that if he focused on hiding he Draconic traits it may work and so he did after a bit he looked down into his blade, he saw a human looking back at him he smiled really excited but he looked back at the as it was time to train and flipped to the Magic section. Reading he found the section on Fire. He read up on the basics, the Fireball and Flame Deflection. Devrin un-sheathed his sword and stabbed it in the ground and puts the book away into his pocket. [1/1] Devrin focused his energy, his eyes glowing gold, he could feel his inner flame growing. He brought it out into the palm of his hand forming a swirling spherical shape, he launched it into the sky. [1/1] Devrin Kept the energy active and focused it defensively. His skin began to give off heat as an implication that he may be able to block or redirect othe flames. Learned: Fireball and Flame Deflection

He picked up his sword and for a quick moment sent energy into it, this time his energy formed an aura steaming off his skin, he used this to manipulate the metal in his sword. He made it spin in the air and then sheath itself at his side. He then Walked out toward the base. Learned: Magnetize [EXIT to Base]

xxxxxxxWhile Joseph informed their superior of the completion and pay of their current mission Aureus found himself resupplying upon arrows. They were, after all, within a training facility of sorts and he found it to be the best time of all to restock. It took a mere matter of moments before he had and slipped to the side of Cassandra. He made no sound as usually nor did he look at her this time around. He just sort of stuck around and lingered. It was not like him at all to open his mouth without being spoken to first. "Cassandra," his voice broke the silence. Quiet enough for only her to hear and deep enough to match a grown man's. "I believe I was not the only who noticed what had taken place." His statement lingered like a question as he referred to the bond which the two created. He merely wondered if, she too, were aware of such things. When Aureus's energy reached her, Cassandra bit down on her lower lip. It was only a matter of time before either one of them would bring it up. She was just happy she didn't have to do it. Cassandra was always used to pushing other away unless she had to work with them, yet she found it almost impossible to even attempt that with Aureus. She could blame it on the bond, but she knew the feelings started shortly before the bond. It was then that the warming grin she saw a while back flashed into her mind again, causing her cheeks to flush. She spoke without facing him, as she couldn't let him see the color of her face. "I noticed it, Aureus. That and more." She wondered if he felt anything past the bond. She, of course, didn't want to embarrass herself with confessing some unrequited feelings.

xxxxxxxHe only made his monitoring unnoticeable to her for he did not care for who was around to see him looking at her and so he did. Eyes of gold would glance to and fro as her own stationed themselves somewhere else. The nervous, yet cute, biting of the lip, the slight blush; he caught it all. "More?" his voiced echoed hers. It was then that he proceeded to shift his current stance and place himself before her. Directly within her line of sight he now stood. "More, such as? If you do not mind my asking, that is." His eyes flickered as he looked over. Their focused switched from one detail to the next and though he made and attempt to control it he felt as if it did not go unnoticed.
