Best: Gonna give it to Nergal. Why? Because while most bosses have their underlings and reinforcements to take care of, Nergal BRINGS BACK EVERY SCARY BOSS IN THE ENTIRE GAME WITH HAX STATS AND WEAPONS. Ahem. So before you even get to Nergal, you have to deal with all of the badass morphs. And then there's that Druid with the Bersek Staff and the Generals with Silver Lances that show up to screw you over if you take too long. And then there's killing Nergal himself, which isn't the easiest thing in the world to do. Nothing compared to FD, but it's not easy by any means to take down Nergal. He's a troll.
Worst: Lyon. I've always viewed him as a pansy. I can't even remember his chapter which goes to show how easy it was to beat him.

Please note that FE10 Ike on the list. I will not let him count since he is a lord in said game.

Best: I'm gonna hand this to Felgus. He's a Free Knight, which gives him that extra movement to help out units. But that's not exactly why he is getting this. You get him on a chapter where you really need some offensive power. He starts out with a C rank in swords, and on the chapter you get him there is a good chance for him to get a B rank for swords, and on top of that, the next chapter you get the Brave Sword. Once he has that, a lot of things in his path will be taken out. He also has a 5 PCC (Pursuit Critical Coefficient) which means the criticals can be flying out with a Killing Edge. He's a definite unit for me.
Worst: Gerik. There isn't anything wrong with him, but it's just that by the time I get him I already have other units that I am using on my team. Then even when I do use him, he doesn't turn out great for me.

Best: Fergus, obviously. Fergus is the only GOOD Oguma with immediate access to a horse, which he dominates a s**t tonne with that thing which is also very fantastic for escape maps and whatnot. However, his horse is by far not his selling point. If his growths, the fact that he can equip two PRF weapons, and a few swipes away from B rank in swords from near the start of the game isn't enough for you, he is one of those oddball people with a PCC of 5. His killer PCC means he'll have a guaranteed critical strike ALWAYS on his second attack. Throw in the Brave Sword- a sword that only he will be equipping any time soon in early game in there, and you got yourself the best Oguma ever.
Worst: Holyn. In a game dominated by who has a horse and who doesn't, Holyn loses already. He joins in Chapter 3- which he loses three chapters in a generation with only six chapters, that's already half the game right there he isn't playable in, and Ayra has a better skill (IMO) anyway. Granted, he does make a good parent, but parent =/= good character, or Noishe would be considered a fantastic Social Knight.

Moving along...
Best/Worst Oguma archetype.
Best: Oguma himself, of course! He joins early, has solid bases, and ends up being one of the only units in my runs of FE 11 that doubles things that early. Axe use upon promotion also makes him even more win.
Worst: Raven. He's not a bad unit, but it takes a bit of effort to raise him. As Rath stated above, he comes in the half-way point of the game, and he's at a pretty low level. Training him in the Port Badon gaiden chapter means that other sword users miss out on exp.
