When the criminal had seemingly got the best of Fayden and gained some distance, he was halted by a tall figure with back wings. The winged man didn't speak at all, he only grabbed the man and rushed his own energy into the criminal. He made the man relive every single murder he committed through his victim's eyes. Seeing the slightest hint of guilt, the winged man was suddenly enveloped in a flash of bright light. As soon as the light bathed over the man, it completely decimated his body. It didn't even leave any dust. Obviously the man was running from something, and so the winged man leaped toward the direction where the criminal was running from. With a loud thud, the man landed on the blades that the girl threw to the ground. Stand proud at nearly 7 feet and with a muscular build, the man looked down at the elven girl. The elves were a rare sight to see, especially since the genocide. "Dawn Elf... you were hunting that man. You sought the man out with barely any training. I can sense your weakness. Why are you fighting those who are stronger than you?"

Fayden was awe struck at not only the wing man's appearance, but his astounding height. There were few outside the race of elves that matched her own height, and Fayden was rather short for an elf at that. She tried to compose herself, but found herself failing to form any coherent thought. "I, um...he was a wanted man and I'm a bounty hunter. It's what I do?" she replied, seeming to question the validity of her own statement.

"Tell me, Elf. Why do you hunt those who commit crimes? For money? For glory? What is your purpose?" Before Fayden could lie, Selaphiel overwhelmed her with his own potent Aura of Truth.

Fayden stood there baffled for a few seconds, not by the nature of the question, but by some otherworldly force taking over her body. She had no reason to lie to this figure, but it was almost as though she literally could not lie. The very idea of it seemed to fill her mind with disgust. Fayden quickly regained herself and brushed her hair out of her face as she answered, "Well, I'm a bounty hunter. I do it for the money, but a little part of me still sticks out for the little guy. Used to be a city guard y'know, but I left. Wasn't doing much but letting my skills get rusty."

Everything was about currency these days. He couldn't blame it on the Elf for wanting to survive. Selaphiel would have preferred that the girl did it for the honor and sense of justice that turning in criminals gave. But the girl did it for money, and in turn to survive. "I can give you power beyond your wildest dreams. Though I can only do this if you devote your life to one thing. The persecution of sinners. My name is Selaphiel, created by God will to do his bidding in this world. Axiom is infested with sinners and sodomites. Persecute them and you will be rewarded. If you fail, you gain nothing. Do you accept?"

Fayden rubbed her jaw and listened to the angel's speech. Created by god? Please, he looked like some over-hyped Nephelim. "You're pretty full of yourself, you now that? I never bought into the whole angelic blood thing," she said, massaging the growing welt on her jaw. As she did, her not so perfect track record of criminal apprehensions came into full view in her mind. While she doubted the stranger, a little extra power would be helpful with the job...if he could keep his end, that is. "Alright, I'll make you a deal. You show me what you've got and I'll go on this grand mission of yours. But I gotta warn ya...There's a lot of bad people out there. Gonna have quite the body count."

Impudence. It was no matter, once he took a host, he would be the primary conscious. He would easily over power the young elf. "You can try, but you will soon find that you simply cannot suppress my beliefs." Without another word, Selaphiel suddenly rushed into the girl, literally phasing into the girl's body.

Fayden quickly raised her arms upwards as if to stop some oncoming blow, but was surprised when nothing hit, at least nothing that caused any pain. Instead, the little elf felt a powerful surge flowing through her body. Though her physical appearance hadnt changed in the slightest, her muscles felt more tense, she noticed a dramatic increase in her already alert senses, and most baffling of all, she had intimate knowledge of sword fighting styles she hadnt even heard of! "What is this..." she whispered to herself, trying to piece together what had happened. Could the angel have been telling the truth? Did he really imbue her with supernatural powers? It couldn't be; it was just some nephelim trick. A flash of light and a quick buff spell to throw over an illusion while he flew away, that's all it was...or at least she hoped.

X Raid was an elf. And as such, he often did very... elfy things. He would sing around the trees, examine their health, pay pilgrimage to the animals of the forest; he'd swim laps in the lake, and he'd always have a great time doing it. Honestly, at least half of his day was probably spent communing with nature, as was the heritage of his people. It was no surprise that he'd find himself over here, although what he witnessed was more than strange. He had spent some time projecting his conscious around the creek, and he couldn't have helped but notice a bright flash of energy. An energy so ominous that it seemed to corrupt the mana surrounding it, although with no lasting harm. The 'young' elf readied his tomahawk, and his shield, and set out to discover the source of the corruption. To his surprise, it was another of his flock, Fayden. They didn't know each other very well, but he did know that this was about to turn very awkward. "Mae govannen, Sun-Strider," he waved a welcome hello, his lips faintly smiling. "Are you here to practice magic? I swear I just saw the strangest thing..." He eyed her patiently, but not to the point of being stoic, like usual.
It was always good to make a first impression, especially with those who would be fighting alongside you if it came to war.

Fayden stared off into the distance as she tried desperately to piece together the situation. Her mind seemed to be bombarded with several thoughts all at the same time, each seeming to have a different will of it's own. Was the power, or powers, the angel gave her alive? Through the constant mental assault, she was able to pick up key words. Chastity, patience, and a few partials, but these words meant nothing to her. Fayden could have stood there for hours trying in vain to decipher her cognitive invaders, but the familiar ring of the elvish tongue snapped her back to reality. Fayden quickly turned around to see another elf standing before her. "Oh...uh, hi? Sorry, I'm not to well versed in your...uh....our, native tongue," she corrected herself. Truth be told, Fayden wasn't a pure blooded Elf. That, combined with a life in the city didn't leave time for frolicking among the trees like the rest of her kin. "I was out here trying to catch a bounty when..well..he....never mind." she said, answering his question,

X He silently picked up certain traits about her, after what seemed to be each independent action. She said she wasn't well-versed in the elvish tongue, but considering she seemed about fully developed, that felt impossible to him. She must've been... "Ah, I see. A city-dweller," he nodded his head. You probably couldn't get the impression too quickly, but he felt a little less comfortable about the... converted ones. Mostly for religious reasons, if nothing else. "Sorry to hear that your bounty hunting didn't go well. Whatever the hunted did to escape was some strange type of magic; I'll consult the elders about it, later, to see if I can help you catch him." Ithraides was obviously the 'helpful' type, but only because she was kin. For the most part. Strangely, though, he felt like he was wary of her. Like something wasn't quite correct about the air around her. It was strange. "You seem kind of out of it. Maybe you should get some rest?"

Fayden sized up Raid as best she could, seeing whether she could take him in her current condition if it came to that. It wasn't that she didn't trust him, you just don't meet many nice folks in the city. His kindness was a little off putting. As different thoughts crossed her mind, she was assaulted once more by 3 or 4 voices. "you're a harlot! Thinking such vile things about a man!" "He offered you kindness and you'd kill him? Horrid wretch!" As the voices pounded her head, her hand shot up to catch her forehead, as if the splitting headache would break through her skull. "I didn't even think anything like that!" she shouted, clenching her eyes shut and shaking her head. Just then, she remembered she wasn't alone and the voices faded just as quickly as they had reappeared. Fayden lowered her hand and darted her eyes around, avoiding direct contact with Raid's. "Um...ya. Rest would be best. You know a way out? I kind of got lost on my way in..." she admitted reluctantly. Fayden wouldnt normally admit to being so foolish, but she wasn't in the best of conditions at the moment. "Your pride will see you to your end, elf", a last voice murmured before falling into total silence.

X The girl seemed to be spacing out, at first. Then he quickly came to realize that this impression had merits; she was obviously aching in her head, and that ache became gruesomely obvious as she clenched it, her body admitting serious shock and pain. He was just about ready to drag her to a hospital, but before he could react, she was screaming in his face. She didn't think anything like... what? Ithraides was suddenly very confused, as he'd never dealt with a person like this before. The dawn elf just wasn't quite sure how to deal with this. "Okay, you're definitely not alright--" he reached his hand out to the light-haired girl, offering his shoulder to lean on if she was having trouble with basic functions at the moment. "Let me help you out. I assume you have a place to stay, but if you'd like, I can take you to the elvish outpost. There are people there who can make you feel okay. Very talented healers." He, without delay, directed her to follow him out of here. Raid was certainly a nice person, whether or not the intended recipient was as suspicious as Fayden. He simply assumed that she was suffering recoil from whatever dark magic took place, which was true... to an extent.
The young Sontus directed a path to the more public end of the creek, and glanced her in the eye. "Your name's Fayda, right? I try to remember all of my kin over the years, but sometimes it just slips me..." he sighed. "My name's Ithraides, of the Sontus family. I'm one of the elves on... preservation." He hoped she could remember his name, because the longer he stuck around, the more obvious it seemed that she'd need his aid quite often.
