Refusing to give up, she continued to bang on the door. She felt horribly weak and sick to her stomach. She turned around, slumped to the floor, and fought the horrible urge to retch.
"ANyOne..." She coughed, her voice higher than usual.
Not being able to fight it any longer, and dropped to her knees and threw up on the hard floor.
Avoiding the puddle of sick, she moved over to the rug, howling for help, digging her fingers into the soft surface.
"HELP!" She shouted a final time, until she gave up screaming. No one could hear her, and she was wearing herself out. She walked over to the door again, stepping over her throwup, and kicked and pounded on the door harder than ever.

After what must have been at least an hour, Lillian took a break, panting on the floor.
"Pleaseee let the door open..." She begged, pleading with the empty office. The paintings on the wall were sleeping, but the few that were awake had sad looks on their faces for the situation of the headmistress.
"Let me escape..let me out...anyone? Someone?" She cried, tears welling in her eyes. She felt so weak, her hands red and swollen from the pounding, her ribs broken, bruised and cracked. "Just let the door open...let me out..."

It had been hours now...she still had not made more than a few scratches on her gorgeous polished door. The throwup smell in the room was overwhelming and made her feel like she was going to retch again. She was starving and so thirsty, the only food she had had in days was a puddle on the floor. She lifted herself to her feet and leaned against the door, her ear to it, but she could hear nothing. Desdemona had not taken any chances, this door was wonderfully sealed. Maybe with an extendable ear she might have a chance of hearing something, but she didn't have any in her room. She tried sending notes from the door crack, whispering incantations, but nothing happened. Sighing and slumping on the floor, she whimpered a little from the pain in her ribs. It would be more bearable if it hadn't been for Desdemona knowing exactly where the ribs were in pain, and taking the opportunity to kick Lillian whenever possible. Kicking her when she was down- how thoughtful..she thought bitterly, resuming her attempts to prise the door open, one hand caressing her side. Tears from the pain began to well in her eyes, but she ignored them. She tried screaming out names, as if by calling the person out, they would come find her..."AL! ALISON! ALISON NIKOLAI! KENNETH! CATALINA! AKAHANA! ANNETTE! STARS! C-CALLYSTO!" she spluttered..."C-c-callysto..." How she wished things between them were different now...now that she had no way of reaching her, she wanted to reach her more than ever.

As Desdemona approached the office after her successful visit to the Defense Against the Darks Arts classroom, she was disturbed to hear screaming from the inside. Luckily, the hallway was deserted. Still, there would be hell to pay.

Opening the doors, she cried, "Stupefy!" sending the raving headmistress back into the classroom and locking the door behind her.

Turning on the injured woman, she snarled, "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO OBEY ME!"

"I-I-I..." was all Lillian could manage to say. She had been screaming for help, trying to escape, it was obvious. What defense could she possibly have for herself? Then it came to her as she looked on the floor.
"I wasn't escaping..I...I got sick." She pointed at the sick mess on the floor.
"I was..screaming..because I was sick..."She managed to sit up, but refused to look Desdemona in the eyes. If Desdemona was good at reading minds, then it would be clear from first glance that Lillian was lieing. Lillian had never been a good liar...

Desdemona's lips curled in disgust as she looked at the puddle of vomit disgracing the floor. In a fit of perhaps germaphobia, she waved her wand and wiped the mess away.

Turning to her prisoner, she said, "That's a pathetic excuse. But, I'm feeling benevolent today." With an eerie grin, Desdemona slipped amongst the broken glass and ripped tomes, emerging with a photgrapgh of Lillian she had thought worthless. Then, pulling a folded corner straight, the previously hidden picture revealed a happily gurgling baby girl.

"Your daughter," Desdemona said, pointing at the infant, "Is quite spirited. Much like you as a youngster, as I recall. I would hate for anything to happen to her." The woman's voice was almost a purr.

It was not the photo Lillian had in her diary, but there was no mistaking it, that was her and her daughter. She had made copies of the photo and placed them in her cabinets when she had placed that one in the diary. Desdemona knew..Al must have lost her temper..

Lillian's face went completely pale. Then she lost it too. She leapt from the ground, and forgetting Desdemona had a wand, forgetting who Desdemona was, she reached with her long hands for the woman's throat. She wanted to tear her..limb. from. limb.

"YOU LEAVE HER ALONE!" She shouted, her voice normal and loud now, her hands inches from the woman's neck.

Desdemona was almost caught off guard by the headmistress' sudden energy. However, spells always beat brute strength. "Or what? You'll bleed on me?" she taunted. "CRUCIO!"

Her voice was high pitched again, and she felt the sensation of being stabbed again, but feeling it more did not make it less painless. Her scars and wounds that had been healing ripped open, and the tiniest scars felt like fatal wounds that had been set on fire. She couldn't control her own movements as she curled up into a ball, knees at her chin, and arms wrapped around her knees. She was trembling and shaking terribly, every bone in her felt like it was breaking. She was screaming something, but she didn't even know what. Her vision was foggy, everything seemed darker, as though she were looking through a dark glass.

She did yell something though, something that might have made sense...she was forming the yells into words, not really aware she was doing it, and what she meant to be:
"LEAVE HER ALONE!" came out gurgled...the real meaning may have been understandable through the pain..but the pain was all she could focus on.

Watching her puppet writhe in pain once more, Desdemona said gently, "All you have to do it obey, It's so simple. No pain, nothing to hurt you."

Lilly responded by making some unintelligible noise. "Do you agree?" Desdemona pushed.

"Just don't hurt Al! Don't hurt Al!" She tried to splutter. She knew the imperius curse was coming whether she wanted it to or not. This time she did succeed in making some comprehensible noise..."NO..MoRee DecrEEs!" She shrieked. Desdemona was taking over with them, which put her daughter in danger anyways. Lillian knew Desdemona well enough to know that Desdemona would hurt Al no matter how much Lillian agreed to be her puppet. Therefore, she'd resist as much as possible.

Desdemona removed the curse, and watched as Lilly sunk to the ground. Striking her across the face, she said, "I give the orders here, not you! IMPERIO!"

Thrusting a quill and parchment at the headmistress, Desdemona began dictating her third rule against the school.

Lillian's watery eyes were unfocused as she wrote teh third decree. Her hand was shaking so badly...perhaps it would be unreadable...All the while she sat there staring at the photo Desdemona still had. Her mind was at war, and the fight that was still left in her seemed heartbroken. I'm doing this for you Al...I just don't want you targeted...stay safe...don't lose your temper again..stay calm...stay safe..just don't die before I do...which could be soon...then live a long life..be happy...

She finished the document with a final flick of the quill. To her, it was like her goodbye to all her values and the school she loved. When she bowed slightly and handed the parchment back to Desdemona, she slumped over falling asleep, like a puppet or a toy, a servant, awaiting orders.

Desdemona grinned wickedly as the third announcement went out. There had been too much mixed blood in that classroom for her liking. Yes, she could tell just by their faces. If there was anything she reviled more than Lillian, it was muggles and mudbloods.

She looked at her broken captive, and said, "You will be silent. Now go behind the desk so I can keep an eye on you." As though in a trance, the woman did so, then fell back asleep. Desdemona followed her puppet and eased into her throne.

Catalina Courageous

Catalina reached the headmistress’ door and hesitated for a brief second. She had specifically asked that no one enter her rooms. However, under the circumstances…’No,’ Catalina thought. ‘This is far too important to leave alone.’ She furiously pounded her fist against the large mahogany door.
There was no response at first, and then a scurrying of feet across stone. The massive doors creaked open slightly, and they revealed not Headmistress van Nikolai, but a homely older woman with beastly yellow eyes and cropped jet black hair.

“No one is to disturb the headmistress,” the stranger, presumably this new “Desdemona”, sneered. “Not for anything.”
