I am the house prefect, but I'm sure I can help you find your way around. What classes do you have?" she asked helpfully. "I- Oh, this is terribly embarrassing. I just went to the first name I recognized and- I apologize. I guess I already fumbled things up now. I'm enrolled in History, DADA, Charms, Transfiguration, Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures and Divination. Is there a difference in program for other first years that you ask?" Liviana smiled kindly. "It's no problem! Everyone makes mistakes." She cleared her throat. "It looks like we have four classes together- DADA, Charms, Transfiguration, and Divination. Those are all great classes! Some professors distinguish the curriculum for the ages of different students, but for the most part everyone does the same lesson. Does that clear up some things?" She looked as Professor Blac Magik breezed by, waving happily. Liviana waved back, with a smile on her face. "I- Well, I think it does. I haven't had a chance to attend classes yet. I just hate making mistakes that can easily be avoided, it makes me me feel so self-conscious." She scuffed the floor with her boots. "It's the stammer, you see, I used to stutter. But I heard grande things about Ravenclaw house and don't want to look like a failure compared to the others." "I'm sure you'll be fine!" Liviana encouraged. "Hogwarts is a great place to make a new start. And don't worry about proving yourself to the other house members. The sorting hat put you here for a reason." She smiled and patted Galiemme on the back. "Don't worry yourself over it. If you ever need help, I can tutor you." "Oh, that'd be great!" she ducked away from the hand slightly. "And you can call me Emma, if you want. Most people do."

Meiko quietly ate her food, in a deep train of thought. "Gosh, he doesn't even notice me... I better give up on him before I fall even deeper. I may consider liking a girl for a change..."
She laughed as she thought of liking girls instead of boys. She shook her head as she took a sip of her pumpkin tea.

Sparrow walked into the Great Hall and sat down at the Gryffindor table. She was still upset about the match last night if only she had been faster than Callysto she would have won the match for her team. Sparrow sights and starts piling food onto her plate.

I'll see you around later in class" she murmured and stalked away quickly to the Ravenclaw table. 'Strange', she thought. 'Empathy in a House like that.' That was unexpected, scary, even. Then again, anything unexpected tended to scare her, so nothing new there. 'I'll have to change my approach strategy.'

 1st year.
Dorian felt particularly famished after his classes and being in the Great Hall only made it more prominent. He sat with a loud thud on the bench and began to fill his plate with whatever stroked his fancy. On his second day at Hogwarts he was still amazed at the feasts. He basked in the taste of the food and smiled with his cheeks full.
(this is totally me sometimes...)
