OK, I just realized that I explained Cat Like Thief's hair seemingly for the second time, but I didn't. She redyed it today, the low lights are darker and the blue is richer. it looks even better.

Ok am going to try some photos now.

Hope this works

The afghan is straighter than it looks. I am trying to put "wrong" Stitches in randomly, and its much harder than I thought it would be, I wish I had not done it.The beaded pouch is just something I did while waiting to get more yarn to finish Yule gifts with.

Oh wow, they look fantastic! I think the "wrong" stitches in your afghan look like little hearts!

Oh wow those are beautiful! I agree too, the "wrong" stitches do look like little hearts! I've tried out both spindles and they spin beautifully. Actually just finished plying some red wool on one, the yarn is soaking in the sink now to set the twist. The other one has a project on it too, instead of a fuzzy yarn I'm making a smooth yarn, which for me was a difficult technique to get down. My good camera needs to be charged, but I can post more crappy cell phone pics later. ^_^

Sounds like you're enjoying your new spindles!

Oh Love, I did a little reseach to see what postage rates to Australia are and I'm not sure if I'm doing it right...here's a link to what I was looking at:
USPS

What do you think?

Wow it looks like if you are willing to wait, it shouldn't cost any more than $14 dollars, probably less. Its more than what it will cost to make several, but I love the idea that one of them will be in Australia!

I am almost finished with the ones I am making for my group and have started on the ones for my girlfriends group. I had a small set back when i ran out of yarn, but my gf bought enough for me to finish. She said it was only fair since I am putting in all the work for her group too, as well as all the stuffing. She got me 3 skeins of yarn, even though I think it will only take two. I got 5 out of the first skein. She only needs 6 and I only need 8. I have 10 wombs done, but only 7 pairs of the fallopian tubes done. Am fixing that today. I can't wait to start assembling them. I could not find yarn quite so bright as whats in the pic and my yarn does not knit up quite so smooth, but I am having a ball with them.

Thanks for the compliments on the afghan, I think I am going to work on it a bit today. When its finished it will have 5 rows of Goddesses and the probably the 3 phases of the moon on top, unless it seems like 7 rows of Goddesses will not make it too tall for the width. 5 rows of Goddesses I think is going to make it too square looking. I couldn't really tell til I started knitting, so I had to have more than one plan to finish it.

OK my friends I have dilemma of the fun kind. For our anniversary I got some yarn. Ceri doesn't knit or crochet, but she loves the stuff I make. She is more of a beader, jeweler and constructionist. Anyway She went through the trouble of picking out the most beautiful yarn for me. Its All shades of rich dark purples and a dark blue. I want to make something REALLY special from it. The problem is the yarn is thin, but it has pieces where the fibers get big and I know this sounds weird, but it looks like tiny pieces of tee shirt material. They recommend size 11 needles, even though for the most part I would use much smaller needles, maybe 3s I only have a ball near me and for life of me cannot think of the brand, but if I am on later I will try to link it so you can see. I started a simple shawl with size 13 needles. Just adding a stitch at the beginning of every row for a triangle. But I am hoping there are some suggestions here for a really Great shawl (or anything) that will look good when the yarn thickness varies by a lot. Thank you so much in advance.

Oh by the way, without exception, my anniversary was the most romantic day in my whole life. It was unbelievable. It was better than perfection. All the age appropriate details to follow. xd heart heart heart yum_strawberry yum_cupcake emotion_hug emotion_bigheart cat_4laugh I am SO in love

Sounds like you had a lot of fun! My anniversary is coming up soon too - ten days left. We'll be going on a picnic. ^^

Well if you really don't mind then I would love to have one of your wombs. smile I really don't mind waiting, it makes things more exciting not knowing when a package is going to arrive. Come to think of it...I might be able to whip up a little something for you too - to make it even. smile

As promised, my hair!

And also, my altar (which is really my desk) from the past Yule.

I like your hair Caustic! My niece, who is three, pointed to your pic and said "Look, there's your sister!" hehe.

Caustic I love the hair!!! . I like your altar too. I can't really do anything too wild with my hair, because I work a Jo Ann. I wish I had been more adventurous when I was in college. I never did because my hair is long and grows slow. I was always afraid that I would eventually have to cut it to get the dye out or covered or something. I have had just the ends done before. About 3 inches. It looked OK, but would have looked better if my hair was shorter. I liked it on my bangs though. Yours is great.

I would love to have something from you as well!!! My e-mail is AvalonLil@yahoo.com if you want to send me your address.

OK bad news about the yarn. I can only find one picture of it and it doesn't even come close to showing how deep and rich the color is. Its Sensations Brand and Its Rosario Multi purple. I think there are no pictures because its new. The Dye lot on my skeins is 71. The little woven bits are called slubs, a term I have never heard before.

Entervixen, I am sorry to pressure, but I am counting on you for an idea. I have already gotten compliments on the shawl I am making, but the compliments are really on the yarn. I would love to be making something better. Any Ideas??? Please???

I'm sorry, I meant to respond after I gave it some thought, and forgot! Do you have enough for a few swatches? I'd do one in the suggested gauge in stockinette, one on larger needles ins stockinette, and then try out a few simple eyelet patterns. Oh! Try this pattern!

Any multiple of 2

row 1: Knit
Row 2: purl
Row 3: knit
Row 4: knit
Row 4: P2tog, yo over across to last 2 stitches, p2
row 5: purl
row 6: purl
row 7: knit
row 8: purl

Ok, I wrote that from memory. If there are any mistakes I'm sorry! But I've used that pattern in shawls before, it's very pretty, and has enough stockinette to show off the yarn too. ^_^ And it's easy to put into a triangle shawl. Either increase along the edges every row, or along the edges and both sides of a spine (which can be any number of stitches) every other row. I'd suggest swatching that as well to see how you like it, though I think it should do nicely.

Hehe, thanks guys. I really love it at this length, the only problem is that I can't do much about it when it's windy outside...

My email address is liz_lyt13@yahoo.com.au so you have a reference. smile

WOW, Thanx and Thanx.

I have already swatched some, and am going to start your swatch here pretty soon. It looks like it might work.

I will be happy to send you a womb. I am still working on the pieces. Cannot for the life of me remember to get pipe cleaners. They are needed to keep the fallopian tubes in shape. I am hoping to have ALL the pieces done soon, maybe even today. Cat is playing music, keyboard now, now guitar later, so I am going to knit to my own private concert!.

Thanx again I will let you all know how it goes. gaia_kittenstar

I'll get to test knitting the pattern tomorrow. Today I was too wiped out to do much that requires concentration.

Thanx. I think I may have it mostly figured out. What I have is nice. Today I spent swatching different patterns for that yarn. I did not get anything. Because the yarn has those slubs in it, it really interferes with every thing I have tried. It made everything I tried today just look messy. I am afraid that the type of yarn is demanding that I just knit emotion_8c I may try another thing or two tomorrow, but I am done for the night. Did not finish my womb pieces either, but I am very close. 4 more fallopian tubes and I am done!

What a wonderful way to start the Spring holidays! On Ostara! Pity the weather couldn't be just a little more sunny...oh well sleeping is was nice. whee
Sounds like you'll have some nice background music to your knitting Love! When I forget things I write sticky notes and stick them on my head (or other people's heads). That usually does the trick. I've been brainstorming what to make you...so many ideas... xd
