And apparently there IS something about why Kraden is still alive. >And is has to do with the Golden Sun. Apparently, those who were directly exposed to the power of the Golden Sun have barely aged at all, which certainly explains why Isaac is looking so good for a guy pushing 50. Karis even mentions that it will be weird when the kids one day overtake their parents, I've heard.<
That's brilliant! >Where did you get that theory? Was it from a fan site or something?
...It's NOT a theory. It's from the game. Several people have the english version already. It was sold early in some places.

Was anyone else kind of disappointed that a lot of the old nostalgic elements are... gone? I hope that in the aleged sequel we can explore much more of the world map. I was turned off on how you get your second party adepts so late, not to mention the ship. Briggs dying? ******** that man. Briggs can never die.

P.S. Tyrell reminds me of Black☆Star. No like.
I got the impression that Dark Dawn's world structure was a lot like that of the first game. What with most of the game taking place on Angara. At the same time, however, elements from The Lost Age, such as a second party and access to a boat were added, making the world feel a lot smaller than it did in the first, since the elements were there but didn't open up the world.
Also, yeah. Jarring shift is jarring. I at least give props to Dark Dawn for pulling off a harsh tonal shift.
Shame a named guy had to die for it, though. I think the high NPC body count would have been enough, personally.

That's what I thought and I honestly thought that maybe we would have been able to explore half or at least most of what was open for business in Lost Age. I dunno though, something about older games updating for newer systems really just kind of takes some of the good ol' good ol' about it. I felt the same way about FE when it went over to GC but mostly when it went Wii.
Seriously though? I didn't like that Himi was such a random addition. I understand WHY it's someone from Izumo, but I honestly just don't think they were prepared enough. The final fight was a disappointment though I must say... far too easy to power level on the shelves below, not to mention the replacements for Saturos and Menardi (Blados and Chalice) really didn't have as much likability as I had for the original duo. BTW can't wait to see everyone else in their older forms, I was sad I didn't get to even see Ivan or Felix. Garet's mustache is kinda derp. And seriously? I've been convinced since the beginning of the game that Arcanus is Alex... if I'm wrong I may have to remove half of my brain in disbelief... and not vertically.

FE9 is one of my favorite games of all time. :B (Though I will say that I think FE7 is the best by the series' standards, based on the ones I've played. I just like FE9 more personally, even though I play FE7 more often. Also FE10 is dumb. Decent game, but kinda dumb). But I see what you mean. That can be jarring in and of itself.
I honestly thought that Dark Dawn did a very good job of retaining the atmosphere of the original game and improving on it with 3D. Maybe it's just because the atmosphere and world has always been my favorite part of the GS games, since in my opinion it's what makes an okay game great.
WAHAHA. Of course Arcanus is Alex. It was dramatic irony for a little while, but it got annoying once Kraden was around since he wouldn't just say it. Bluh bluh.
I know I've said it before, but I really do think Dark Dawn's biggest shortcoming was the villains. They lack the proactivity and don't have the ability to quicken the slow pace, unlike Saturos and Menardi. Nor are they as personal or emotional as Karst and Agatio (who I actually like much more, despite not adding as much to the pace as their first-game counterparts, though that is partly due to TLA's meandering narrative). They mostly spend their time waiting for the player to fall into their cunning "but thou must" trap" While they sit around and play Go Fish for fifteen or so hours. There is no village on the verge of destruction for them, at least as far as I know. And a giant dirigible full of trained soldiers leaves a lot less to the imagination than a quick reference to a "fire clan of the north" right before the final battle of the first game. So the pace suffers 'cause it wasn't what we came here for. Still, I think the crappy pacing is acceptable for what the game gives us in return. Not all games can make up for something like that, but I think Dark Dawn succeeds.
Also I think Himi exists to buck the system. A Mage-type GIRL earth adept? HOLY CRAPBISCUITS. Shame she came in so late. And she can't make jokes or have a reason like Eoleo, so eh. Macguffin girl. I really liked her introductory scene, though.

If people STILL haven't beaten the game and are looking here, don't get mad at me for not posting in white. It says 'Spoilers' in the title.
Yeah, Himi was way too random. If I hadn't played the first two, I really wouldn't have understood why the heck she was there. And yes, world was way too small. I wanted to visit Mia. D:
