Markus just waited for something. He knew something was up. He could see the man when he was a while away, and he didn't seem right...

Jasmine looked over at Stratios, then back at the altar. "Ah, we're travelling and want good luck for our travels." The explanation seemed simple enough. It was a bit odd that a bard had just come, but, perhaps bards traveled all the time.

A simple answer to a simple question. Hermes admired their attempts to throw them off the scent.
"Well if you are travelling, I suggest you offer one to Hermes. He's the god who looks over all the travellers."
He suspected it could be an easy way to blow his cover.
He looked at the cows, scanning them over with a quick glance- yes, they were pretty normal looking cows- a mostly brown, some black ones and a dead cow. That didn't look good. If he was a mortal, he would've sworn that it was an Omen.
His attention was drawn to the dead cow. Standing, Hermes walked over to the cows. Inspecting the dead one with a trained eye, he saw that it bore no wound from an animal, human and had not been diseased. From his speedy deductions, it appeared to have just... dropped dead. His inspection appearing to be only a few seconds, his attention was drawn to a brown cow that had put its wet nose on the barriers surrounding it and pretended to absent mindedly stroke its nose.

Sage's eyes followed the man as he walked over to the cows. It was bad enough one of them had dropped dead they didn't need anything happening to the other ones before they could make their sacrifice. There was also a chance of Arwa waking up soon. Luckily the man hadn't made any comments on Delilah's appearance. Sage hadn't had time to throw an illusion up over all of them so they appeared to be normal. Well normal for this time period.

Delilah was getting restless. She wished the man would just let them get the sacrifice over and done with. Delilah had arranged her clothes so that the dragon legs were hidden as best as she was able to. Thanking the fact that the tail that had come with the form was flexible and not rigid, she had curled it around her lap, like a cat.
"Which cow shall we sacrifice?" she asked, picking up the dagger again.

Sage shrugged her shoulders as she glanced over at the cow. She motioned to one that was at a distance from the man who had joined them.

"That one?" Delilah asked, gesturing to a cow that could be described as a pretty fine looking one. It was a brown cow that she saw. Walking over to the fold, Delilah proceeded to remove the cow from the herd, with some difficulty. The cow, was being stubborn, wouldn't follow her until she had given it some grass from her hand. Delilah hoped that she didn't get attached to the cow now that she had got its trust. She began to lead it towards the group, but tripped on her talon, and only holding on to the cow by its neck which wasn't a good idea.
Hermes turned to see the shapeshifter almost lose control of the cow. She'd probably lost her balance by not using her tail for balance. He quickly, but not too quickly, moved to hold the cow while she picked herself up. "Need any help?" he asked, half attempting to appear gentlemanly to the others.

Sage frowned before she stood up and took a quick glance into the tent to ensure that Arwa was still asleep. Seeing that he was she quickly cast an illusion over him so he would look like a human child. Sage then walked over and helped Delilah up giving her a concerned glance to see if she was alright.

"I'm fine. There's no need to worry.." Delilah said. She took over control of the cow again, treading carefully not to trip up or otherwise startle the cow. Tying it to a post, Delilah went to put the ribbons on the cow, offering to share the job with Sage.
After Stratios the bard had asked if she needed any help with anything, Delilah had sat him down so that he was out of the way.

When he had been forcibly sat down, Hermes was unsure whether to be insulted that he'd been told to sit by a mortal or relieved that he didn't risk further compromising his disguise.
Hermes watched the cow being 'decorated'. He wondered how far his cover had been 'blown' and sat there appearing thoughtful as he watched the cow being prepared.

Sage smiled as she helped Delilah add the ribbons to the cow. She began to absently whistle Past the Point of No Return from Phantom of the Opera which was her favorite musical. Sage kept a close eye on Stratios because something was off about him she just couldn't put her finger on it.

Flicker whistled along to Sage's tune as she set up the altar for the sacrifice, cleaning it up, and whatnot.

Sage grinned over towards Flicker. If Stratios hadn't been there Sage would have most likely been singing the song but at the moment she hadn't made up her mind about singing in front of a stranger. It was a bit different from talking. Once she came to a decision about their guest she might start singing but for the moment she would just whistle.
