Galesen smiled a little as he took another waffle and placed it on a plate, he had already made enough for himself he was just finishing up Isle's plate. "Good, I was worried you might of switched fruits there for a second." Ever since Nillrik had grown up and became more independent Galesen had seen Isle a bit more than usual, not that he complained. Though there were times the young elf would spend a night over when he wanted to rest or hang out with Galesen. So after setting both plates of waffles, some whipped cream, a bowl with blueberries, and a bowl with strawberries on a tray, Galesen grabbed the tray's handles and walked over to the table. He looked at Isle though and smiled a little bit as he set the dishes down then sat down in his chair. "Of course, ever since you told me ever so nicely that one time you realized the berries were not so fresh I made sure to get fresh berries every chance I could." Grinning he scooped some whipped cream onto his waffles before taking some strawberries. "I never knew you could throw a bowl full of blueberries that far. Learned my lesson there."

"Ruling is a tiring job as I'm often told. Even with the way things have changed." She wasn't exactly sure what had changed just that it had all changed. "I think he worries too much sometimes but you know that's apparently how he is. I'd be with you this time so no one would have to worry about you being lost." A smile and she returned her friend's hug. "Decided it was a good time to drop by, what with everyone preoccupied with things."
"No it doesn't bother me because I love you too. I'm just used to the mouth cover or shushing motion accompanied by the 'we don't use words' phrase because you're not big on them. You've broken me into habit by now."
"My daddy always said that I had a good arm." Sitting back as he brought food to the table she fixed herself a plate and started to dig in. He was good at cooking if anything that was for sure. But a shrug as she continued to eat. "Either way, fresh is better any day of the week."

"Indeed you do." He subconsciously rubbed the spot on his head where she hit him with the bowl and then went back to eating his waffles. They were a little bit cold since he had to make Isle's waffles as well, but he didn't mind, some milk helped take down what he put in. "Of course, I always make sure to at least try to get some fresh food, even when I have no one over to cook for. But at least my fish is always fresh, I love my fresh seafood." And he knew how to cook different types of fish and stuff, Galesen had a good head when it came to cooking stuff he caught from the sea.
But after speaking of food Isle and Galesen fell into silence as they ate, it was a comfortable silence as they enjoyed their food. But when Galesen was done he wiped he mouth of any cream or crumb before he took to finishing off his milk. When he was done he sat back and sighed as he closed his eyes. "The lovely queen of Selkor asked for another statue again, this time one of Fluffy. She hopes that I can do it life size or something. I believe Draewen is a little worried, I don't think he wants to wake up and be in the mood to be scared by a giant iced version of the fish that loves to eat him." What Galesen was talking about was that ever since he had learned that his blood ice magic can make ice last for a ridiculously long time, he realized that could form a lot of things with it. He did tell certain people he would make things, but he won't be doing it on demand since it was his blood being used and he had to be very careful in creating the piece, so he only took on requests every so often. It was fun most of the time, though it could be frustrating when it wasn't going right. Still, it gave him something else to do.

It had indeed all changed, deemphasizing the individual monarchies and working more as a tribal council would. The meetings were far more frequent and each had a say in what was going on. It wasn't everyone rule for himself and give an account every seven years at Council any longer. Lark and Nyc had spurred things into motion with the changing tide of elves and also their own marriage and the subsequent uniting of two royal families. That was also why both of her parents were no longer ruling. Lark had more or less merged two kingdoms but with the merging of each individual kingdom it wasn't as hard to adjust to. But with her parents living happily together, it only gave them more motivation and time to meddle in her own life, thus the letter that she wasn't reading until later. Rinc Kier bless her parents.
"I'm worth worrying about, I suppose. I don't pretend to understand it." She looped an arm through Are's and nodded. "Then let's go take in the sunshine and enjoy the gardens." Lark was halfway outside before her friend's last sentence clicked and she frowned. "What things? Council?"
"Yes, I know. I've been difficult in the past but those words hold a lot of power and I wasn't ready to hand it over to you. And words mean nothing when they aren't backed up by actions. You've been telling me without words that you love me for years just as I have you."

one of the portals on Torea flared to life. it crackled with energy for a moment, like someone had somehow stumbled upon it and forced it open accidentally. From it stepped a figure..much to sure of his footing to have made the gate open by sheer luck.
he was dressed in red. from soft boots to fingerless gloves, long sleeved shirt, and loose pants. over that was what could best be described as a sleeveless duster.
a glance around...chocolate brown skin, that shimmered with runic markings..only when the light caught his skin just right. like they were some kind of arcane birthmarks. a bald head...not unpleasent features, but marked by a hunger and a devious mind.
pale jade eyes looked about a moment. before a second later, the dark skin was gone. replaced by pale cream. his head now sported close cropped blond hair, and his features more refined and delicate. along with slender pointed ears. Only the pale jade eyes were the same.
"this should prove most...enlightening."

"Yeah those things. You know, the things I'm never going to get so it's better to just let them pass by me and not worry about them." Letting Lark lead the way out to the lavish gardens around the place. "You should get out more, you're paler than usual."
"Well I have been trying hard enough for years. It's nice to know that I can win sometimes too. So can I say things without having to kick myself later?" Still messing with her in playful manner, even if it was the truth.
Isle merely made an affirming noise to his chatter as she ate. "Then do it, just because he's no fun doesn't mean the rest of us have to be no fun." Finishing off her first plate and going back for seconds.
"And you would be?" Inquired a young Brigade member nearby to whomever this stranger was. He hated it when people misjumped through to their portals.

"Of course I'll be doing it. I just gotta make sure to check with Tyyeral for when he is free to do his share." After all Galesen knew that when it came to blood, if someone had got some they could use various magics with it to do stuff; so Galesen talked to Tyyeral to place a rune which would get rid of any blood that would drip off the piece he created when it slowly melted. It was a good safety net, just in case someone tried to take any. Galesen opened his eyes and looked at Isle with a smile as it seemed that she was going back for more. "Well someone is hungry, going to go mountain climbing today or something that involves a lot of energy?" A quirk of his eyebrow as he watched her with a smile, always had to tease just for the fun of it all.

"Everyone needs to just calm down and stop worrying so much. They bring their concerns to me and stress me out with them and I get sick and Nyc gets worried." Shoving a hand through her hair, she yanked off her circlet and set it on the bench then held her hair off her neck and took in the breeze. "It does feel really good out here. I heard you and Kystraen have been seen together quite a bit lately. There a story there?"
She laughed and nuzzled him. "Yes, you are free to express anything that crosses your mind at any point in time. Except when you are in front of the recruits. I can't have you jeopardizing my authority by spitting out flowery words that makes me seem soft and womanly in their eyes."
Council was wrapping up and Talithia was fairly bouncing to be the first to congratulate the young couple. "Glynnic! Congratulations! Drae and I are so happy for the both of you. And after only five years or so. It truly is amazing."

He looked at the brigade member, and took a moment to notice key things. and looked around a bit. no one that was around seemed to be paying any real attention.
"I...am out of your league. Tell me, why should I answer to you?"
he placed his hands idly behind his back, before completely vanishing from sight. granted all he had done was become invisible, but this person probably didn't know that, and it would be interesting to see his reaction.

"You worry too much about what everyone wants from you. You're not supposed to be a slave to people, just guidance. Or is that something I'm getting wrong too?" She was still pretty oblivious to most things. "Story of what?" Blinking as it went over her head for a second before boomeranging back to her in understanding. "Kyst?! No! Kyst is just a very good friend."
"Well I wouldn't bother Tyyrael too soon. He's still on bedrest as I heard it." Poking at her temple, "Head injuries and what not." Raising an eyebrow at him as he was watching her eat. "I haven't decided yet but I just know I have an appetite today. Who knows what trouble I can get in to. That and Nilli wanted to go down into the mines today."
Tyyrael could only laugh at that. "But I like it when you're soft and womanly. But fair enough, I won't let your true nature be known and make then earn it just as all the others have." Giving her a squeeze. "But be warned, I will abuse my word rights as much as I possibly can in private. Beware."
Glynnic chuckled nervously as he wasn't sure what the hell they were talking about. What were they so excitied for now? "Um thank you really...but I'm not quite sure what you're talking about to be honest, Talithia." Rubbing at the back of his neck nervously. No really, what were they talking about?
He blinked like a deer at the strangers sudden disappearance and continued to stare for a minute before he pinched the bridge of his nose and close his eyes. "Oh they are not going to like this." Well...there was nothign he could do with anyone who could teleport so that left one thing. A trip to Brigade Masters house.

Galesen gave a small nod as he had heard some sort of news regarding to the head injury. "Yeah, it's not like she asked me to do it quickly anyway so I can wait until he is better first before asking him. He is always there at the end to do it anyway." He raised an eyebrow to match her own and grinned a little bit as he looked at her from the other side of the table. "You are trouble are always hand in hand, Gods bless the both of you." A small chuckle to that before he paused and sighed a little. "Ah the mines! I didn't think of the mines!" He grinned again as he shook his head. "I'll come along, the mines can do me some good anyway. I like going down there to see what can be unearthed and whatnot, who knows what we will find."

"No, that's exactly right. My mother tries to tell me the same thing but when you have subjects clamoring and expecting things to happen...it's difficult to tell them all no." Lark chuckled and settled herself on the garden bench, turning her face up to the unseasonably warm day. "Alright. I just want you to be careful, Are. Kyst is...well, he enjoys certain things and usually tries to convince his companions that they will too. I don't want you to get in over your head or hurt."
"Thank you for that." She leaned in and gave him a deep, stirring kiss, the sort that would normally jumpstart certain other activities but she was content to lie there in his arms instead. At least until there was a knock at the door and a cry from the other room. Lhia sighed. "I'll get the door. You aren't supposed to be seeing anyone yet." Rolling out of bed, she tugged on her uniform that she'd shed an hour prior and headed downstairs. "Skylar? What's the matter? Aren't you supposed to be on duty?"
She merely grinned at him and plopped a kiss on his cheek. "I know, I know. I'm not supposed to say anything until you two officially announce it. I don't blame you for keeping such exciting news to yourselves, either. But just for my own curiosity, do you know if it's a boy or a girl yet or is it too soon to tell?"

"Well, since your mother isn't ruling anymore she knows a lot about these things I guess. Oh! She mentioned that they were going to visit your sister soon. I think that's in the letter too, you being invited and what not as well." Shrugging before giving a smile. "What kind of things?"
"Right right, I'm on bedrest. If that's the case, you're a very interesting healer." Giving a chuckle to that before getting himself up and caually dressed, he checked the bandages that were still bound round his head. Yes there had been blood with the incident and everyone was being careful about it. But with crying he had to go see his own two twin bundles of joy. Oh the uproar that had been...after all twins for their kind were things of fairy tales. At least on Andal they were.
He was out of breath from making the trip quickly, though seeing Lhia he figured it was best to talk to her as they all knew that Tyyrael was still supposed to be taking it easy. "I am on duty ma'am." Catching his breath then, "But I came upon a stranger who seemed portal lost and he can...teleport I think. I mean it just seems a bit important to note to you or Master Tyyrael."
"Oh...Oh! Well..." Why did they think that? Lharika wasn't pregnant, he knew that much. He suspected she had been earlier but they checked and she wasn't she was just stressed out right now. "Er um....where did you hear something like that?" Trying to sidestep the boy girl question with his own.
"Trouble should be my name, but Isleandra just sounds so much prettier." Sopping up the last of the syrup and berry juice on her plate with her last bit of waffle. "Mhm, daddy said it was okay for me to take him down there, let him mine up a few things himself. You know now that he's old enough to show some restraint.

"Well I'm glad Isleandra is your name, I rather say that than Trouble all the time." Galesen twirled a fork between his fingers as Isle went on about the mines. "That's good, I know Nillrik has been wanting to head down there for quite some time, it would do him some good to try and see if he can find anything, good way to teach him patience as well. But now that are minds are set, we should get ready." So Galesen got up and collected all the plates and took them to the sink, when he was done there he went to his bed room to get dressed, his style of clothing didn't change much over the years so he was fine with what he usually wore. After strapping his weapons to his person Galesen went back downstairs and went rummaging through a closet, he wanted to take that pick he made awhile back at a smith, it was good for digging and he was willing to let Nillrik use it. When he got it he waited by the door for Isle, though he knew it wouldn't take her long to get ready anyway.

"Mmm." It was noncommittal at best but her parents probably knew she wasn't going to take them up on the offer. She and Piper had never not gotten along but things had never felt completely right between them either. Perhaps it was because Lark knew it was Piper who should be on the throne even if she didn't want it. But then if she nursed those thoughts then both she and Nyc were counterfeit and that was just silly. Andal had accepted them and that was all that mattered. Besides, Are needed her here to keep her out of trouble. "Well, sex, for one thing. I'm sorry to speak so bluntly but it's true, Ar. He's notorious for it."
Since Vale was the head Brigade watching over the recruits today, it had better be a damn good reason that he was rousing them and the young member before her knew it, too. "You think?" She frowned in thought and then nodded. "I assume he is no longer here, then? Do you have any other information about him, Skylar? Which portal did he come through?"
Talithia's eyebrow rose and she frowned. "Well, officially no one has but there's enough chatter that we believed it to be true." But Glynnic wasn't acting as a prospective father should and she was beginning to understand. "There's no truth to the rumors, is there?"
