Will ran in, obviously frantic. "I got the word. Where is she?"

With a glare, Skiaska stood. How was she supposed to get any sleep- Wait, why was she sleeping in a busy hallway anyway? With an irritated sigh, she headed towards the gym.

Gail walked up to the frantic father, offering some kind words in the hopes that it would calm him down. "She's right over there, Will. Why don't you head on over and say hello to your waiting wife and new daughter?"

Gulping, Will followed Gail's directions to the room that held his new family. Peering inside, he gazed with bittersweet fondness upon his wife holding their tiny, infant daughter in her arms. This was the best thing in his life. That tiny bundle laying helpless in Lydia's arms was his greatest accomplishment, with everything else he'd done in life paling in comparison. It filled him with warmth, but it also filled him with fear and pain. Fear that he wouldn't be up to the monumental task before him. And pain at the thought that now that Lydia knew the truth of what happened at Archangel Enterprises, he wouldn't be allowed a place within his new family.
More than any brush with death ever had, that thought terrified him.
Knowing that he couldn't put this off any longer, Will quietly strode into the room, barely making a sound as he came beside Lydia. Almost desperate to touch her, to feel her warmth and know that she was really there, the man leaned against her, wrapping his arms around her lightly as his head nestled in the crook of her neck. He breathed in deeply, taking in her scent and committing it to memory. She had such a calming effect upon him, her mere presence giving his tortured soul some small measure of peace. When she'd left and was captured, it very nearly destroyed him. He had truly missed her with every bit of his heart and soul.
Gently, he spoke, hoping not to startle her any further or to disturb his daughter. Softly, he whispered in her ear, voice laced with so many unsaid things and emotions that not even he could name them all. Yet despite all that, despite everything he wanted and needed to say, words failed him and his greeting was simple, making him grin at his own lack of eloquence. "Hey. What's up?"
Somehow, those words didn't make him feel stupid. God, it felt good having his arms around her again.
((Sorry all for my absence. I'm doing better after my bout with the flu and hopefully should be on regularly now.))

((It is okay. Family and all of that comes first.))
Lydia looked up as Will approched, feeling a warmth well up in her stomach at the sight of him. But still, the reason she had roamed the city, only to be captured by Mauser, was bitter in her mind. Regardless, she allowed him to embrace her, leaning her head against his as he breathed in her scent and basked for a moment in her pressence. When he spoke, Lydia paused for a moment before responding. The psychic had never been one for eloquence or for being subtle, yet she managed to respond with a surprising amount of tact.
"Why did you hide it from me? I let you see all of my mind, all of me, and yet you hid that from me. I left because I was upset at you for hiding part of your mind, but I was going to come back to talk to you about it. Mauser obviously had other plans, but I only left to take a walk to clear my mind and thoughts. Please do not think that I was trying to leave you and take our daughter with me." Lydia looked down at her darling child, her index finger caught in the strong grip of the tiny child. "Also, I do not know what to name her, as I do not know that many names."

Will sighed and kissed her forehead before whispering softly to her. "I wouldn't have blamed you if you had left and never came back, Lydia. Nobody could have blamed you. After all, you'd just learned that your husband was a monster in his own way. I NEVER wanted you to see that side of myself. I wanted to protect you from myself, from the monster within me. I scare myself, Lydia. The thought of what I've done, what I'm capable of, terrifies me. The part of my mind I kept from you... There, I see that day over and over. I can never forget those mens' faces. I'll always hear their screams as I cut them down without thought or mercy."
"And you know what really scares me? The knowledge that I'd do it all again in an instant if it kept you or our daughter safe. To protect you, to protect all of you, I'd deal with the devil himself."
Will pulled back, and smiled at his daughter's face. "She's beautiful, isn't she? The most precious thing I've ever seen."
Reaching out, he softly encricled the infant's tiny hands with his own. His smile turned gentle, and the horrors hidden behind his eyes seemed to melt away and be forgotten, even if it was just for a moment. "She's like a treasure, straight from God. Letting me know that even with all I've seen and done, he still hasn't abandoned me. It's like she's my faith made flesh... Yes, that's it. Faith. That's a good name."
((So, RP deciding what the name is going to be even though we've already decided Lydia?))

((Yes, I think Role Playing out deciding the name would be good.))
"You of all people should know the horrors I have seen and been forced to commit. And yet I showed it all to you, I lay my whole self bare before you. I know it scares you and I know how all of it haunts you, but I only ask that you do not keep anything secret like that from me. For you to hide something, even something like that, feels like a betrayal of trust to me, Will. Please do not do it again." She leaned her head against his, gently nuzzling him.
"But I do not like the name Faith. It sounds flat and dull to me and I know that if I were our daughter, I would not want to be named Faith." Lydia said in response to Will's name suggestion.

Will laughed softly at Lydia's response. "Sorry, Lyds, I can't help it. It's a simple fact of life, when it comes to women they love, men are total morons. Just ask Kerri or my sister sometime. But you're right."
His eyes closed and he breathed in deeply. This wasn't easy for him, opening himself up, admitting he was wrong. Both tasks were hard. But like he'd said, Lydia was right, and he needed to start being completely honest with her. "When I married you, I gave my life to you. All of the good, but all of the bad as well. From now on, I won't keep anything back from you, I promise. I just hope that you find the good outweighing the bad; you deserve it."
Turning his attention back to lighter matters, Will pondered the question of his daughter's name. "Well, Faith is definately out as a first name then. Perhaps as a second name. How about you Lydia? If you were our daughter, what would you like to be named? Any names that sound good to you or that you just have a fondness for? Or perhaps there was somebody who left an impression on your life that you'd like to name her after?"

"I...I do not know any names. While growing up, my "name" was X13 and when it came time for me to pick a name for myself, I was shown some names and was told to pick one. I went through the list and just picked out the first name that jumped at me. And if I was our daughter, I would not want to be named after someone; that would just be too confusing." Lydia said, pausing to think with one finger tapping her lower lip. She though back to all the names on the list, but none of them seemed a suitible name for her child. Wait, there had been one, a name that Lydia had liked but did not think was suitible for herself. "Aurora...I like that name for our daughter."

Tokeru scratched his head, Edith still clung to him and he still faced the other way, he didn't want to distract the happy couple or anything, but he felt like he should leave. And yet in leaving, he felt like he would make sound and they would have their reverie broken.

Edith, normally, was never capable of amounting anywhere near to skilled at turning the other cheek when she was being ignored, however, as her brother and Lydia were new parents preoccupied with naming their child, Edith was able to let it go. After all, her brother and her barely saw eachother even though they were working together, had the same cause. But there was no need to bring up her battered social connection with her brother. Even if it was battered, it had survived, and even if they were fairly alien to eachother now, they remembered the times as kids. At least they had that.
But now Will had a child along with a huge family to take care of, if anything, there was going to be less time for them to become properly reaquainted, less time for them to even see eachother unless it had something to do with the Shadow Stalkers and Hunters. So much for their small talk and get-together so that she could find out what had happened during those three years she'd never seen him. Well, she knew the basic story, but Edith liked more detail than just basics.
The vampiress was standing inbetween her Guardian Angel's wings, hugging his waist, her sleek wedding dress still on, and Tokeru's groom's outfit still on. "Angel," she said fairly quietly for her being Edith, "I think we should leave daddy and mommy to spend some quality time together with their child. I'm sure that we can discuss matters that involve the Stalker base blowing to bits with Krii and arrange some accomodations." She placed a soft kiss on both of his wings and then headed out of the infirmary to wait for him in the hall.

Lydia shook her head. "I do not like the way Faith sounds, even as a....what did you all it? A second name? I think that is what it was. Still, you should be able to pick part of our child's name and I hope we can both eventually agree on it."

Will was about to respond when Morris Greenberg, head of security, walked up to him. "Sir, Reno has been spotted within the perimeter. We've got him surrounded, but he's firing on Hunter's. It's only a matter of a few minutes before one of the civs catches on."
In an instant, Will went from warm and loving to ice cold. Reno was a traitor, and there was nothing Will hated more than somebody who betrayed their own then had the gall to blame the people they betrayed for their problems. The ex-Hunter was a threat to their security and secrecy, one that he would be glad to remove. Will's voice was cold, crisp, and emotionless as he snapped out an order. "Weapon."
Instantly, Greenberg's own silenced Beretta and Bowie knife was in Will's hand. With a crisp nod, he walked out of the infirmary without another word or a glance back at his wife. He had work to do to keep his people protected, and now wasn't the time for emotion of any ort. He had a former comrade to execute.
