"Quintessence," came a voice from nearby. A certain bishop moved smoothly up, and gave a smile to Nils before turning his attention back to the others. "Nergal took the life force of others to give himself a lengthened lifespan; no, that is not technically correct. A majority of the time, I was the one tasked with collecting said quintessence and delivering it to him." Renault showed a pang of guilt at this statement, turning his head away for a moment, but it quickly passed. "His daughter would age normally, as she was not given that treatment."

gabriel sama Roy looked at Sue when she questioned him, not saying anything. However, his eyes were trying to tell her something. He then shook his head and left the room, hearing quite enough about what the others were planning. Sue lowered her bow to Roy, no longer having the motivation to aim at him. Instead, her face fell once again into sorrow. "General Roy... you're the person who saved my life. You're my friend. What was that look you gave me? You don't really want to fight me either, do you?"She snapped out of her thoughts and turned to Amelia and the others. "So... no wonder Mika didn't look like the other morphs. She is human after all. From Father's stories, Nergal wasn't human anymore. He was something of an immortal."

"Good question..." Amelia put her fist at her chin again. "It lets us know more about Madriana and Mika. It might also explain why the morphs seem to be emoting more lately. Perhaps Madriana wanted to make her morphs better than Nergal's."

"I myself am. . . somewhat like a morph," admitted the bishop. "Nergal did not see fit to give me pure quintessence, so he instead changed me. By all rights, I should be dead; however, I am a few hundred years old. I lost count, but it's been over two hundred years since I found him." He shook his head. "But Nergal's morphs did not have nearly as much will as these. as for what we can do? I don't know." He paused, then shook his head. "Before you continue, I must warn you that I've taken the side of the morphs. I will not harm you, but neither will you harm them without passing me beforehand."

Amelia looked over at the Father. "I wouldn't have ever guessed on my own," she murmured. She paused, the nodded slightly. She didn't want to fight him. "I understand..."
Amelia looked over at Sue. "That might be a possibility."

Nils smiled lightly but awkwardly at Renault. He really didn't know the bishop too well, despite his... connection to his father.
"... I could try talking to Mika. Get her one on one, tell her about the similarity of our blood..."
