Amie's Zampacto sliced air, and that was the first hint to let herself know the fight was officially on. The thing was, she couldn't believe how fast Yukimara-sama had gotten behind her. The only clue there was when she saw a flash of black cloth vanish above. Amie didn't really see the blade coming, but as soon as she knew her opponent was behind her, Amie made a desprate attempt to lie herself onto the ground. She felt the blade nick a formidable gash into her shoulder as she fell downward, and winced. Her left eye squished shut, but from the feel of it, that blade would have sliced her back clean open.

She hit the ground on all fours, in a push-up position. She quickly bounced her hands back more towards herself, so she was more like a ball. She balled her hand tighter around her Zampacto, so it was a fist against the ground, and put most of her weight onto it. She twisted her head back, to see where her captain was. Amie then pushed her body up a little higher, and her leg rocketed out in a sideways swipe that was in range to kick Yukimaru-sama right in the face. As her leg moved, her body moved slightly to the side with it, so Amie would be facing her at the end of it's arc. The move was probably not that effective, but her torso along with her vitals were facing the ground. Not to mention, her sword's arc was ending on the opposite flank of where her foot was coming, so Amie could get a seconds notice before she chopped it off. The goal here was to buy as much time as physically possible, but she doubted how much she could last in a fight like this. Her shoulder was already a burning distraction, as it complained every time she flexed it.

Amie's eyes widened as she realized, she didn't exactly have as much time to react then she thought. As the blade made an uppercut at her leg, she cried out in slight shock. "I'll have to be more unexpected then." It wasn't to threatening, as her voice was so pained. But she couldn't believe what she was going to do next.

The sword was sawing up through the bottom of her leg, so Amie retracted her lower leg to wrap around the sword. It had a semi-hold on it, underneath the crook of her knee. Amie must have been out of her logical mind. If she did the math right, there wouldn't be enough force in that position to completely cut it off, but it would be excruciatingly painful in the after. Her right hand, with her Zampacto, aimed for a stabbing motion at Yukimaru-s chest. Which was slightly awkward, as she was still crouching, with one leg stuck. Not to mention a very odd thing to do, considering it was blunt. A second after her sword movement, Amie cast her incantation. "Hado number 31, Shot of Red Fire!" Attempting to be "Unexpected" Amie lifted her left hand from the ground for a split second, to fire a reitsu fireball at the space in between Yukimaru's legs. The ploy here was she was aiming at a weird place, to throw off her captains balance, if possible.

Alex Replies bowing "Alex Night" but still looking him in the face knowing that he had a weapon and didn't know what he had planned to do with it. She stood up in a casual stance and waited on his reply but not before asking "what is a zanpakuto by the way?"

Alex's eyes opened wide as she replied enthusiastically her hands clasped in front of her chest "A new weapon?!... you're going to teach me a new weapon style... I prefer my daggers but I could never find a teacher to teach me new weapons styles" She grabs Maxi by the shoulders and shakes him slightly "please teach me your weapon style" she was looking slightly maniacal in asking Maxi the question maybe almost demanding.

Still shaking him slightly she adds "So when do we start... Do I have to prove myself?... Do I need to defeat you in a series of competitions challenging me physically, spiritually, and mentally?" She was starting to get a little nutso and over eager as she tended to get when wanting a new dagger or when she was wanting to learn a new style but never seemed to be able to.

Yuki was a little perplexed by what Amie thought she was doing, traping her Zanpacto like that wasn't going to do much good other than causing damage to herself. Yuki reached around with her free hand to press against the blunt side of her blade, forcing it even deeper into the bone courtesy not only Yuki's pressure, but Amie providing force by holding it there. She ignored the blunt blade Amie pointed at her and pressed harder on her blade, almost dragging Amie off her already precarious balance as she attempted to liberate calf from leg.

However when she heard the kido Yuki looked up. A mistake of speaking kidos was that your opponent had time to react. Yuki quickly moved her feet into a wider stance, letting the ball of fire glide between her legs. Sadly she wasn't fast enough to avoid her pant leg getting caught on fire. She didn't acknowledge the threat at first, she was so used to being fire-immune in shikai that she didn't take it seriously until she felt the sting of it burning her calf.

A little squeak of suprise, and Yuki pulled her zanpacto sideways, and out of Amie's progressively weakening grip. She stabbed the side of the ground and began to pat her pant leg's fire out bare handed, careful to move fast enough not to burn herself. Amie probably would take this opportunity to make sure her leg was still attached.

Amie's wince grew louder and more pained as the grip led on. When Yuki finally let go, she stumbled back, amazed. Had she...actually landed a hit? No..No way! Yukimaru-sama's right pants-leg had undoubtedly caught fire. Nothing huge, just a small ember, but Amie had grasped small ground. She wondered how that had happened. Did her captain just underestimate the power of the kido...? Or had she just not expected the range to of it be wide enough? Whatever the reason was, she counted her blessings, while grieving over the gaping wound that lie under her knee. That would seriously handicap her ability to move. Her rashness had landed a hit, but at what cost? It wasn't really worth it.

So, now what? Honestly, she had planned on being in a coma at this point, so things where going slightly well! But how to follow up, intelligently? Did she have any advantages? Not speed, strength, endurance, experience, Kido, Reitsu, or anything that really mattered.

Well, then she'd have to stick with plan A, going out with a bang. With an awkward sprint, that required her to put almost all weight on her right foot, [as the slightest pressure on her left was so painful] she lunged at Yukimaru-sama, with an almost fearful battle-cry, founded mostly on desperation and the impending punishment she knew was coming. Luckily for Amie, Yuki was only a couple steps away.

She jumped for slight air, before swinging down her giant zampacto, aiming at her skull. She wasn't really tired, rather distracted by the burning calf muscle, which slightly strained her breath. Well, feeling the pain was a good sign. If she didn't feel anything, then she would worry.
