Kasiya swallowed hard, feeling her cheeks turn hot in an instant and she was certain her face was redder than Keegan's hair. At the sight of him practically dying in his seat she made a move to jump up, but was thwarted as Ada jumped up and smacked Keegan hard in the back with a rocky fist, hoping to dislodge whatever it was he'd been choking on. Kasiya quickly sat back down, hoping Keegan would be all right. "I'm from Vermilion City, in Kanto, ma'am," she said politely, wondering if she should go on or not. Finally, she decided she should, seeing as these were Keegan's parents and they had a right to know a bit about her, or at least she thought so. "And yes, I am a trainer, and I love being one, too. It's probably something I get from my dad, though. He's the leader of the Pokemon Gym in Vermilion so I learned a lot from him," she said, her tone indicating that she was merely stating a fact and not trying to brag or boast about it. "He specializes in Electric-type Pokemon, and I must admit that I have quite a fondness for them myself, although lately I've discovered that I appreciate Fire-types as well," she added, hoping she wasn't offending anyone.
She had a drink of her juice and looked around. "You have a very nice place here," she added. "It must be so cool to work with all those Pokemon, and raise eggs!" If one looked close enough, they could probably almost see the stars in her eyes as she spoke. In her mind's eye, she saw that gorgeous Flareon again and nearly swooned in her seat.
=-=-=-=-= It seemed as though the world around them came to a standstill, but the tender moment didn't seem long enough, even though Flannery tried to prolong it as long as possible. When they pulled apart, she saw various members of the gym giving the couple looks and snickering behind their hands, and she shot them each an angry glance. "What are you looking at?" she barked. "Get back to work! I don't allow slackers in my gym! GO!"
She smiled back at Mike, pretending like the previous exchange hadn't happened. "I love you too," she replied happily, but for a moment her expression seemed a bit saddened. "And I've missed you a lot, too," she went on, now toying with Magu's empty Pokeball. "It's been so quiet without you around that some days I don't really know what to do with myself. Challengers have been few and far in between lately." She paused, nearly dropping the red and white sphere before she put it back on her belt.

Kilik woke up bright and early - nine in the morning. He wasn't particularly hungry thanks to his midnight snack, but he was a bit parched. He grabbed a drink out of the cafeteria, bidding Nurse Joy good morning on his way over. His Pokemon were resting on the counter; all he had to do was take them off the tray and go about his business. Then again, if he were to leave in just a robe, there was the chance that he'd get many strange looks. Kilik entered the bathroom, changed into his day clothes and went back out into the lobby. With a bow, he said good-bye to the nurse and stepped outside as he began attaching the Pokeballs to his belt.
"Alright, so I've got a day," he said, fixing his sleeves. "That means I can train Lairon for a while, then I should fly to Slateport. The flight will take at least half an hour..." he scratched his chin, "I'll go over to the Safari Gate and train there." Kilik stuffed his hands into his pockets and hummed quietly as he walked. His joy would be short lived, however.
The moment he stepped onto Route 123, a shrill voice cracked the sky. "Kilik!" it cried, "It has been too long!" A girl in a black shirt ran up to him. Her pants had been torn and it appeared as if she had just been traveling through the rain. Then again, the route just north of here was in perpetual rain. She shook her head and her now-purple hair sprinkled the grass around her and the trainer in front of her.
"Rebecca..." he sighed, slapping his forehead, "It hasn't been that long. It's been two days. Why are you in the Hoenn region anyway?" For those of you wondering, Rebecca's Kilik's rival. He first met her in the Kanto region in the redesigned Celadon Arena (where the old Rocket Base was) and bested her in a Pokemon battle broadcast throughout the region. That had been around two weeks ago and she'd been completely sour about it since.
"Oh, you know...this and that. Mostly the Beach Party," she scratched the back of her head, "But I heard that Lilycove had a big store so I figured I'd do some shopping first! Since you're here..." she smirked, snapping a ball from her belt, "Why don't we have a little battle?"
"Really?" he sighed, grabbing Lairon's ball instinctively. "You see...I just healed up my Pokemon. I can't go around smashing them into fights. So, here's the deal. We'll have a two on two, no more or less. Agreed?" He tossed out his beast, who roared at the opposite trainer. In fact, Rebecca was the first trainer Kilik had ever used Lairon against, back when the creature was a rebellious hunk of metal.
"Fine by me, Kilik!" she let out a shrill laugh and released her Pokemon. It must've been something she had recently caught, because Kilik had never seen it before. A tangling mass of blue vines with short red feet. Two white eyes stared at it's opposition through the foliage. Kilik raised an eyebrow and whipped out his new PokeDex. The voice called out into the field: "Tangela, the Vine Pokemon. It is shrouded in blue vines. Nobody has ever seen the face beneath it. Tangela's vines snap off easily if they are grabbed. This happens without pain, allowing it to make a quick getaway. The lost vines are replaced by newly grown vines the very next day." He tucked the device away into his pocket and clenched his fist with a smirk.
"Well, alright then. Let's see how it stands up to Lairon's brute strength!"

Ulani was messing around with the poor Corphish's head, spinning around and around him and finally landing another Astonish attack riiiiight on his forehead.
"Corphish-cor!" the Ruffian Pokemon cried indignantly, his eyes spinning from dizziness. Jeez, he liked fun and games as much as anyone, but not when he was the butt of the joke! Fuming, he took advantage of Ulani's proximity and grabbed her wings with both of his pinchers, whirling her around and ultimately tossing her into the ground. "Wow! That's a... Vicegrip, I think," Yumi said, having finally found her Pokedex (which had been buried in an ocean of sand in her backpack). "Good job Corphish!" The little orange crab snorted triumphantly.
Ulani lay, dazed, on the ground. "Up, up, baby girl!" M.A.'s voice. Oh, right, battle time! And now this Corphish was so close... and not paying attention at all in his little victory dance. With determination in her eyes, she zoomed forward, beak at the ready.
"Oh, no! Protect!" Yumi cried. The Corphish barely managed to make a green shield before Ulani reached him, and the bird squawked before zooming out again. But where had she gone? The Corphish noticed the shadow above his head moments too late, and before he could react a Swablu bomb had hit him hard. The Corphish stumbled over, knocked out. "Aww, good job though, Corphish!" Yumi said, coming up to him and picking him up. The crab nodded tiredly, falling asleep in her arms. "What a nice first battle; next time, we'll both be better! Get a good rest in here, 'kay?" she smiled, recalling him into a Pokeball.
"Sweet round, girl!" the energetic girl called out to M.A. "But there's two more to go. Let's go, Kecleon!" In a flash of jagged light, a lizard-like Pokemon staggered out, lazily lolling his tongue out. It glanced out Ulani and sighed. So his new trainer wanted him to battle, eh? What a drag... he rather liked sleeping in that little red ball of hers.

"Ivy use Leech Seed!" Mitsu commanded taking advantage of the Blaziken's sudden flinch from the infectious toxin. Several seeds were launched from Ivy's flowering bud and onto the fire Pokemon's body. Immediately the seeds began to sprout and sap precious life away from the already poisoned Pokemon. Finally he looked as if he had taken some damage and was a bit worn from thier battle. Well that is, worn but definatly not done.
Kristy began to look a bit frustrated at her choice of trainer. "Looks like you aren't a totally newbie afterall," she snickered, "But that doesn't mean I'm still not going to beat you into the ground! Blaziken use double Kick!" With a firm roar for confirmation Blaziken rushed forwards towards Ivy, one leg raised and ready for attack. Once again being incredibly fast he managed to land two solid kicks into Ivy. The first was a swipe at his left flank kicking him up from the ground and the second was at Ivy's stomach sending him straight into the air.
While the force was definatly hard, he didn't go soaring into the sky as a Zizgagoon may have. Ivy gave a small grunt of pain before landing back on the ground with a thud. The stamina he was recieveing little by little from the Leech Seed was definatly helping him stay in this battle. He had managed to recover from the fall fairly quickly before shooting Mitsu a fairly confused look. She should have given him a command by now! "Quickly! Let's give him a taste of your Razor Leaf!" Mitsu shouted after a quick spasm shocked the Blazken's body. It seemed that he was not use to being poisoned and it left major opening's for Ivy to attack.
With a swift nod Ivy sent out dozens of leaves aimed straight for the Blaziken's body. No need for angles and all that jazz here. The attack landed solidly and in unison with a strong sap from the Leech Seed and an even worse spasm from the previous Toxic attack. But damn! This Blaziken was tough and he definatly still had some bite left in him!

Looking around at the huge skyscraper like buildings Robin couldn't help but feel just a bit intimated. Doing her best to look like she knew where she was going she walked around hoping to find the pokemon center. In her arms Raz couldn't help but feel a bit safer, yes his wings hurt but he knew his trainer was doing her best to get him healed. It wasn't like this was a wound that he could just eat a berry for after all. Either way he was glad he was out and about in his trainers arms instead of in his pokeball, he was a bit sleepy though. It was strange he tended to get really tired whenever he was around the man with the strange hat. Deciding to forget about it Razputin settled himself down in his trainers arms ignoring the path that they were taking to the pokemon center. Like most towns the pokemon center was fairly easy to find so Robin didn't have to run around for long with an amused Ampersand trailing her. Rushing towards the counter Robin nervously waited behind a pair of trainers as they got their own pokemon healed before stepping forward and setting Raz down on the counter. "Nurse Joy, my Yanma's wing got hurt in a battle!"
The kind Nurse Joy just gave Robin a small smile. "These things happen especially in pokemon battles." She inspected the wing carefully while she spoke. "Well it doesn't look like there is any permanent damage done here nothing I can't fix anyway. Why don't you wait here while I take care of your Yanma." The kind pink haired nurse suggested.
Nodding feeling relieved that Razputin would be all right Robin moved to turned around but was stopped by Luffy sitting at her feet grinning up at her. Sighing she stopped down and picked up the Aipom. "I forgot, you got into a battle as well." Turning to the nurse again a sorry smile on her face before she even asked. "Could you heal my Aipom? He got hurt a bit to. Nothing nearly as bad as my Yanma though."
"Sure thing just set him down on the counter and I will see to him in a moment."
"Thank you." Robin grinned again and was about to turn around to find herself some place to sit, when Luffy's tail appeared in front of her holding a folded piece of paper that had her name on it. "Huh whats this?" She muttered as she took it from her pokemon. Going to the seat she had spotted she sat down to read the note addressed to her.

"I'm going to make a wager," Kilik said, examining his knuckles. He turned his eyes towards his opponent. "I'll bet that my Lairon will not only knock-out both of your Pokemon, but he'll do it in three moves or less." A smirk appeared on his lips. He sure was confident in himself. Though it wasn't as if that confidence was wasted. After all, the powerhouse Pokemon slammed his paws into the ground and roared. He was pretty sure he scared that Tangela. Lairon clamped his jaw shut and emitted a low growl.
Rebecca blinked and then let out another shrill laugh. "Three moves a piece, eh?" She placed a hand over her mouth to stifle another giggle, "That's quite steep. If you think you can do it..." she smirked as well, "Then I invite you to try. Tangela, attack with Ancient Power!" The small mass of vines wiggled itself around then planted it's roots into the earth. Another moment later, it began to rip large rocks out of the ground. These rocks slowly began to glow with a blue light. "Go!" Rebecca called, punching forward. At this command, the boulders were sent flying in Lairon's direction.
"Take it Lairon!" he barked. The Iron Clad Pokemon planted itself into the ground, bracing itself for impact. The boulders crashed against his body, yet he felt almost nothing. With each hit that came into contact with his metal plate, sparks went flying. When the onslaught stopped, the Pokemon relaxed. Lairon checked over his shoulder at Kilik, roaring at him to make a move. "Chill out. Okay, Lairon?" he laughed, clenching his fist. "Attack with your Take Down!" The boy braced himself; he knew that once Lairon started charging, the ground would shake and most of the time, he almost lost his balance. "Good luck stopping this!" The beast roared, saliva splashing onto the grass. He smashed forward, lowering his head and aiming for Tangela with intent to kill. Lairon picked up speed, though that still wasn't very fast.
The Tangela's eyes widened as he took the blow and went flying the opposite direction. He was just too light. That's what happens when you've got something 264 pounds crashing into something that's only seven pounds. The small Pokemon crashed into the Safari Zone's gate and rolled down the hill back to Rebecca's feet. It was a struggle to stand up, but he did manage it. The girl gulped. "You okay, Tangela?" If there was a head beneath that tangled mass, it nodded.
Kilik smirked and clenched his fist. That Tangela got quite some distance. He raised his fist and lifted up his pointer finger and held it tauntingly at Rebecca: "One." he laughed.

Kristy gritted her teeth, now furious with anger. She shot daggers to Mitsu that could kill. She simply could not accept that an Ivysaur could best a Blaziken in battle. It was simply not possible! "Blaziken! Get up! Flamethrower now!" Blaziken, though a bit ticked at his traner's snarky comments, breathed a deep breath before shooting a powerful stream of fire at Ivy. It was even more powerful and the current even faster than the last Flamethrower.
"Synthesis!" Mitsu called out, "Try and aviod as much of the fire as you can Ivy!" As the fire got closer Ivy attempted his best to move, though his previous injuries definately prevented that. Unable to moe Ivy focused on healing. It was a rather odd sight as the fire clearly hit it's mark, but the Grass type recieved no damage. Once Blazkien's onslaught was over, mostly due to another attack by the toxins within his system, Ivy retaliated with a Tackle. With increasing speed Ivy launched himself at the already severely weakened Blaziken and crashed into him with enough power to send him flying a few good feet away.
Combined with the Toxic and the Leech Seed Kristy's Pokemon couldn't take any more and fainted. "Tch. You got lucky, kid," she muttered before recalling the fainted Blaziken and walking off in some wayward direction. It clearly looked like she wasn't headed for the Pokemon Center at all.
But all of Kristy's little antics were ignored as Mitsu eyed Ivy wth worry. His body and foliage seemed to quiver as his body was envolped in a glowing white light. The same light that signaled evolution! But, no. Something was off as the light continued to glow but Ivy's shape didn't begin to shift or alter in the slightest. Mitsu's hand fumbled as she grasped Ivy's Pokeball. She tried again and again to recall her Pokemon, but the red light continued to shot but made no contact with Ivy. "Ivy!" Mitsu nearly screamed as the glowing continued. She rushed over to her beloved Pokemon before placing a hand on it's head. The glowing didn't sting as she had expected, but felt warm and soft to the touch.
She felt a small growing pain in the palm of her hand, but that quickly faded along with the light that covered Ivy. The Pokemon seemed utterly tired after the fighting and holding off his own evolution. "You really don't want t evolve do you Ivy?" Mitsu chuckled lightly as the Ivysaur gave her a sheepish grin. She recalled him before making her way over to the Pokemon Center. "Maybe I should find Ivy and Everstone. . ."

The boy gave a gulp at the sight of the large dragon Pokemon standing in front of him, and even the Geodude was looking a bit apprehensive. He adjusted his hat and stared at Shelgon, trying to decide what to do first. "Um, okay Geodude," he called out. "Start off with your Magnitude!" The Rock-type ground its fists together, letting out a low growl before it brought its hands together and slammed them down on the ground. A low rumble shook the floor and quickly grew in intensity.
"Shelgon, Protect!" Jaeshan called out quickly. A glimmer appeared in the dragon's eyes as a round, shimmering green barrier quickly surrounded her body as the Magnitude ripped through the floor. If Shelgon could have smirked she probably would have, especially after seeing the Geodude flail around in anger at its failed attack. This time it came charging forward for a tackle attack, grunting a bit as it bounced off of Shelgon's thick, protective hide. The dragon gave a growl and charged forward, lowering her body for a Headbutt as she slammed into the floating rock. Had the experience levels been not so apparent, Shelgon's attack probably wouldn't have been very damaging at all. This wasn't the case though, as the Geodude was knocked back several feet, looking pretty dazed. While it struggled to recover from flinching, Jaeshan smiled and ordered a final attack. "Dragonbreath!" he shouted.
Shelgon reared back, taking in a big gulp of air before spewing it out again, with it sending a stream of purplish flames that quickly engulfed the Geodude. It's cries were drowned out by the sound of the roaring Dragonbreath attack, and when it was over the Rock-type was toppled over on the ground, completely out of it.
"Whoa, overkill!" the boy gasped, recalling his Geodude. "Wow, you're really tough," he grinned, running up to Jaeshan to shake his hand.
"Thanks very much," Jaeshan said, shaking the boy's hand in return. "Keep working with your Geodude and someday it might evolve into a Graveler."
"Mmhmm," the boy nodded. "You should go on. The leader is just ahead," he told Jaeshan, pointing further into the gym. "Roxanne will have fun with you," he added before running outside, presumably to get to the Pokemon Center.
Jaeshan grinned at Ryka before recalling Shelgon. "Great job, girl. You'll definitely be my back up in this," he told the dragon as she disappeared into her Pokeball. He made his way deeper into the gym complex, avoiding large rock protrusions on the ground that reminded him of the layout of Pewter gym. In the back of his mind he wondered if Brock and Roxanne knew of each other and their shared specialty, but as he entered a room way in the back he shoved the thought aside and cleared his throat. "Roxanne!" he called. "My name is Jaeshan and I'm here to challenge you to battle!"

"Ugh... thanks, Ada," Keegan grumbled, practically collapsing in his seat as once again the ability to breath was returning to him. He poured himself a glass of juice and gulped it down gratefully, trying not to make eye contact with anyone at the moment.
"Oh, none of that 'ma'am' stuff with me now, honey!" Maggie laughed. "You can just call me Mom if you want to; it's really no big deal. All the local kids do." She continued to chuckle, stopping long enough to sip her coffee.
"Vermilion City, then?" Keegan's father asked, leaning back in his seat and scratching his chin. "So your dad would be the infamous Lieutenant Surge then," he said, nodding slowly. "He and old man Wattson of Mauville go way back," he added.
"Have you met Kasiya's parents before, Keegan?" Maggie asked, looking towards her son, green eyes wide and sparkling. "And if so I hope you were on your best behavior."
Keegan groaned and nearly slouched in his seat some more, clearly embarrassed. "Yes, of course," he ansered, remembering just how unnerved he'd been when encountering Lt. Surge for the first time. "I actually defeated the lieutenant in an official match and won a Thunder Badge." Although come to think of it, he hadn't really met Kasiya's mother.
"Good on you, boy," Todd nodded, finishing his last piece of sausage and standing up to help clear the table as breakfast drew to a close. Keegan rose to do the same, giving Kasiya that 'don't even bother trying to help, you're a guest' look as he rinsed the plates off under running water.
"Your Pokemon are probably finished with their breakfast now, perhaps you should round them up and get ready for your match with Flannery," Maggie said, practically shooing the girl out the kitchen door. ===== "You don't have to shout," came a soft, feminie voice from somewhere in the darkness. A light flickered to life, and Roxanne stood on a raised platform, arms crossed as she looked over her newest challenger. He didn't have the look of a beginner about him, which she thought was a good thing. The last thing she wanted was to have to show some novice up by crushing their weak, inexperienced Pokemon. Too many times had young ones came in here, demanding a match and then had been barely able to get past her first Pokemon.
"I Roxanne, leader of the Rustboro City Pokemon Gym, accept your challenge, Jaeshan. Three Pokemon each with no time limit. Are these terms acceptable, challenger?" She looked down at the blonde challenger with a kind smile on her face, brushing a bit of dust from the skirt of her uniform while she waited for a response.

Kasiya remained kind of quiet as Keegan and his parents exchanged small talk, nodding along slowly as though she were part of the conversation too. She thought about Keegan's father's words about Wattson, thinking that she had indeed met the man several times before. He and her father were pretty good friends, and she suspected they were in the war together or something. She ate the rest of her breakfast quickly, finding herself to be contentedly full and feeling quite good about the day ahead of her. She glanced down at Ada, who'd finished her meal as well and took the bowl from the Larvitar. "You ready, girl?" she asked, patting the little one on the head. "I want you to be my star Pokemon out there against Flannery today, since you're resistant to fire. Think you can handle it?"
"Lar! Vitar!" Ada cried, clapping her hands. She had no signs of injury or hurt from the battle last night, and in fact looked a little bigger even, if it was at all possible. Kasiya smiled warmly at the Pokemon and stood up to help clean up, only to get a look from Keegan and practically a lecture from Keegan's mom. She was barely able to get her shoes on before Maggie had practically pushed her out the door, and for a moment Kasiya wondered why they all seemed so anxious for her battle to begin.
"At least I know where Keegan gets his strangeness from," she chuckled, heading out into the yard with Ada on her heels. It didn't surprise her to see her other five Pokemon staying close to Keegan's Pokemon, as they all seemed to get along quite well. "Are you guys read to rumble?" she asked, looking to her crew. They all looked towards her and nodded, even though they all knew that only three of them would be seeing battle today. One by one she recalled them each into their Pokeballs, feeling a little flutter of excitement in her heart as the spheres were clipped into place. She left the yard and stood out in front of the house, realizing she could see the gym from where she was. She silently wondered if Flannery was at the gym yet as she waited for Keegan to join her outside.
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan's eyes widened a bit at the sight of the gym leader, as he hadn't expected her to be wearing a uniform like that. Wow, she's really pretty, he thought, blinking a little in surprise as he listened to her set down guidelines for battle. He wasn't going to let her looks get to him though, and he nodded. "Yes, those terms are fine," he replied, setting his bag down on the ground as he stepped into the chalk-outlined box on his side of the battlefield. He wasn't sure what to expect from Roxanne as he ran a hand over the five Pokeballs around his waist, wondering which Pokemon he should send out first. "I'm ready when you are," he called out to her, a grin etched onto his face. This was going to be great.

Ryka looked up at Roxanne. Standing on the platform, she looked so high and mighty, almost like royalty. "So this is Roxanne.." Ryka muttered aloud. "She looks like she'll be tough." Ryka paused and pondered what she had said. "Nothing that you won't be able to take on though, Jae! Best of luck!" Ryka threw her arms around Jaeshan in an embrace, and then dallied over to a small bench on the sidelines. She seated herself snugly and prepared to watch the battle, eyes aglow. It h been a while since she'd seen a good match.

Mike cracked a smile at his love's momentary flash of temperament. It was her fiery spirit that had attracted him when they were kids. That, and she was damn cute too. "So, you got anything planned later today?" He asked, hoping to craft some sort of structure into the day. He had a bunch more training to do with Napalm, and maybe even putting aside some target practice for Beacon. "After whatever battles you got today maybe we can go grab a bite?" The breakfast wrap he had was good, but he could almost feel it fading away in his stomach. The thought of more food was definitely a welcome one.
"So," Mike began, lifting his arms up and placing his hands behind his neck in a stretching pose. "Who are your unlucky victims for today?" To be honest, he wouldn't mind watching an official Gym battle. The last two days with Kilik and Sasha had been anything but peaceful, so it would be nice to sit back and observe for a change. Mike watched as the trainer's below practiced with their Pokemon, it seemed everyone but him had a Pokemon out. Hell, Flannery had all six out. Figuring he'd go with the flow, the boy released his Magby.
Napalm scratched his eye in a sleepy daze, snorting a small puff of gray smoke out as he let out a light yawn. As he opened his eyes, the Magby snapped to attention. There were so many Fire Pokemon! The little Pokemon looked around, wondering where he was. He recognized the place, it was the Lava-something Gym. Napalm let out a loud squeak as he sat down to watch the strong Pokemon practice, the Magby's eyes wide and attentive.

Between the three of them, Keegan and his parents got the kitchen cleaned up pretty quickly, mostly under the direction of Maggie. The woman was good at giving orders and making the two males of her household follow them, as well. When everything was sparkling clean, Keegan put his shoes on and gathered his things before heading out into the yard to recall his own six Pokemon. They were still together, including Mori and Moeder, and all seemed to be getting along together quite nicely. Well, except for Tierra, anyway. The Golem was sound asleep and was currently being used as a perch by Artemis. Helios and Themis looked as though they were deep in conversation, and it occured to Keegan that Helios hadn't seen his partner's newly evolved form as of yet, and same with Althena and Tierra, too. The Vulpix seemed to have a fiery sort of determination in his eyes as Keegan approached, and the redhead called back five of them, keeping Helios out of his Pokeball for now. "We should get going," he told the fox. "Mom and Dad are ready to go to the gym to sit in on Kasiya's battle. I just hope she does well enough to impress them... my dad especially." He sighed as the Vulpix scrambled up onto his trainer's shoulder and the two went around to the front of the house to meet Kasiya.
"Ready to go?" he asked Kasiya when he reached her, looking up as his mother and father stepped out of the house as well, both looking prepared to go. Todd wore a stern and resolute look while Maggie looked quite content and pleased. He hoped Kasiya wouldn't have a problem with the two of them coming along to witness the battle, but if she knew why they were there he figured there'd be a good chance she could lose her concentration and make mistakes.
"We're all ready," she said cheerfully. "Lead the way, kids!" ===== Roxanne watched the girl out of the corner of her eye and grinned a bit - perhaps a second challenger for the day? Then again, it wasn't abnormal to have as many as half a dozen challenges in one single day, even though it did get to be quite tiring. She took a Pokeball from her belt and held it up. "All right then, let's begin!" Excitement loomed in her voice as she tossed it up into the air. "Geodude, go! It's time for battle!"
The rock type appeared in a flash of light, hovering a foot or so above the ground. Its body seemed to be a little rounder and smoother in some places; a testament to how many tough battles it had seen. It made a fist in either hand and eyed the human challenger, wondering what he would send out for battle.

Kasiya nodded when she saw Keegan come up to her, but stopped when she saw that Keegan's parents came outside as well. She blinked in confusion, taking the redheaded boy by the hand and leading him away from the two parentals for a moment. "Um, are they coming with us?" she asked a bit uneasily, finding her heart sink a little when Keegan nodded. "Oi..." she frowned and scratched her chin, wondering why they would be interested in seeing her battle with Flannery. Then again, maybe they were just curious about her and really did want to see how well she handled her Pokemon. Maybe it was because she and Keegan were more or less 'together', but not exactly in the strictest sense of the word. In truth, she didn't really know exactly what was going on with their 'relationship', but at least she knew their feelings were on the same page. She grinned at Keegan and took his hand in hers, suddenly not caring what anyone else thought, parents included. All that mattered to her at that very moment was that he was hers, and she was his.
The walk to the gym was very short and uneventful, especially if compared to yesterday evening's adventures. She did feel a little relieved seeing that it was already open, and she took a deep breath and pushed the doors open. I climbed through that god-forsaken sand puzzle yesterday, she thought miserably as a blast of humid-feeling air hit her. I hope Flannery gives me a free pass for today... her thoughts were interrupted though as she found herself looking at the back of a brown-haired boy, with flame-decorated clothing and a rather familiar little Magby by his side. "Hey, it's Mike!" she said a bit loudly, having not expected to see him here. "And Napalm! Wow, has he ever gotten big!" she giggled, bending down to get a better look at the adorable little blob of walking magma.
"Only one battle for sure," Flannery responded, looking down at Napalm with wide eyes. "Perhaps after that we can go for brunch or something." She continued to gaze at Napalm intently. He'd practically doubled in size since last she saw him, and he sure looked rather healthy, at least by her judgment. She glanced at her watch and shook it, like she was testing to see if it had stopped. "I wouldn't exactly call her unlucky," she chuckled. More like I'm the unlucky one... she thought with a small grin, looking up as, right on time, Kasiya, Keegan and what looked like his parents strolled through the doors. "Good morning!" she called out to the group cheerfully, giving a small wave. "You guys are right on time." She saw the pensive look on Kasiya's face right away, and noticed that she was looking in the direction of the sand-filled holes. "You went through that yesterday," she told the smaller girl quickly. "You don't have to go through it a second time, unless you feel like getting covered in sand again." She nodded to Maggie and Todd respectfully, deciding not to question why they were there. However, judging by the fact that Kasiya and Keegan were holding hands, they'd heeded her warning from last night and patched up their relationship, and she thought that maybe that had something to do with their presence. "Ready to get started, Kasiya?"
=-=-=-=-= Jaeshan studied the Geodude for a moment, guessing that it was most likely a lot tougher than the one he'd just battled. He thought for a moment, deciding to hold off on Combusken for now as he skipped over her Pokeball and went for Beldum's. Even if the Steel-type couldn't do much against the Geodude, at the very least it might be able to learn something. "Let's go, Beldum!" he shouted as he tossed the Pokeball, causing the Pokemon to appear in a flash of silver and gold sparkles. Beldum blinked its lone crimson eye and studied the strange rock-like creature in front of him, already not liking this one bit. It turned to look at Jaeshan, who simply nodded, and gathered its courage. "Lead off with a Take Down!" Jaeshan shouted. Beldum let out a light humming noise before rocketing towards the Geodude, its one eye unblinking as it took aim.

Mike jumped an inch off the ground at Kasiya's loud salutation. "Yes it's me!" He yelled back as he spun around to face his friend, greeting her back with a quick hug. "I didn't know that you were going to be the one fighting Flannery today!" He shot a look back at the Gym Leader as he pointed to his friends, wondering why she didn't mention that they of all people were showing up. His glance then shifted to Kasiya's company. "Keegan." Mike said simply, nodding curtly at the red-head. He'd almost forgotten the two had become somewhat of an item. "I trust things are well." He didn't make too much eye contact as he spoke, he and Keegan weren't on the best of terms after all. Clearing his throat, Mike waved happily and greeted Keegan's parents, expressing hope that his mom's late night tinkering hadn't robbed them of their sleep.
Napalm trilled in joy at all the attention, waving his arms up in the air. Today was already starting out great!
