Fear me for I am...I don't know if someone already mentioned this piece...or if I did a long time ago. But American's We should be burned, re made and burned yet again. When I was a freshman that song was our Marching Band song for the Starlight Parade here in Oregon. The Grammar Nazi!

sammieisdoodle of course pomp and circumstance, but also the gustav holst first suite in f and second suite in eb. grrr i hate both of those is a passion!!! domokun Okay, first of alll, it's First Suite in Eb and Second Suite in F. And you should not look at these pieces and hate them. Holst was an absolutely amazing composer. Depending on what part you play, you might dislike them because at times, they are not the most fun. But each part has its own licks and amazing parts, even if it's not the "melody". If you would take the time to listen to the piece by itself and think of it as a whole and realize all the work that man went through to compose those two suites, amongst the Planets and other pieces, you would realize how absolutely amazing he is. Not to be mean. But Holst is an incredible composer. And you should take the time to see it. heart Chandra

still_tipsy_chan 1812 overture sux like kafjdasjfasjdfasjl;kfdjs Have you ever listened to the entire piece? I know that a lot of high schools and middle schools play just the main melody and it sounds really stupid and repitious... but you should listen to the entire piece. I have it on iTunes and on an old record player, and the entire 18 minute piece builds up to that main melody at the end with the canons, and it's absolutely fabulous!!! I've even played the entire piece at my university, and it's not as great once you just have one part, but it's still amazing. What a song!!!

The Wiccan One Love to hate: Pomp and C.->SUCKS BUNGHOLES!!!!!! any christmas songs(suck my saxaphone christmas) Love to Love: any simpsons composment any jazz tune and the song that has the simpson theme,Family guy theme, king of the hiill theme, and American dad theme all in one-> may sound gay, but its put together so wel...its hard to hate!!! I actually played that last song that has all of the main "adult" themes in it. It was called... Prime Time Revenue or something like that. Granted, all of the theme songs on their own are amazing. Possibly, if you have some incredible orchestra, such as the Zublin Philharmonic, play the song, it might be okay. But to put together each piece, and then string it together to make one song by adding little licks and such in between, was just a disgrace to such great music.

Sorry I know I'm writing a lot about this, but I've been around for a really, REALLY long time, and my major is music, so you'll have to understand that though you may think some of these songs suck, they really don't. Yes, I have not liked playing or listening to certain songs, even until now, because I played them previously, and you reherse them over and over and over and play them constantly, and it just gets plain annoying.
But the fact that you could HATE a song, after so much effort has gone into it and for such a minimal, insignificant reason, means that you have closed your eyes to what music really is. Sometimes, pieces just suck. It's true, I won't deny it. But too often, you mistake bad music for music you just don't like playing. It's insanely hard to compose music, TRUST ME, and a lot of these songs that you're mentioning are absolutely incredible when looked at from an exterior point. But when you play them, you put blinders on and shut your eyes to the fact that it could be an amazing piece, if you gave it a chance...
heart Chandra
