Fred's body lay limp and torn on the ground. John's eyes grew wide as he stared at his adopted brother. He looked up at emery, feer clear in his eyes. "Why?" he asked in a barely audable whisper.

Rag grew conserned as her veiw was obsructed. Then she heard the screames and a smile played over her lips, Emery was fine, though the human was not. The other three humans, who were inside the barrier stopped, the screames paralyzing their bodies in fear. wen they had sworn vengence on the vampires, they had not expected this.

Those outside stopped. When the final scream stopped it was dead silent.

"No..." The boy said shaking his head. "I.. I just.. I told him he shouldn't!" He cried, His frail human body began to wrack with sobs. The other three, who knew that there was no way in the world to win against the torment behind them, dropped their weapons and nelt on the ground. The sheild dissapeared. The wherewolves and Vampires cheered. ONe of them, a bar tender shouted, "FREE ROUNDS ON ME!" And started to walk back to the tavern, so did the rest of the crowed, their spirit's greatly improved.

Rag ran over to emery and hugged him.

They all nodded. They new that there was no way for them to win, no way, no how. Well, at least for now. They slowly stood up, and then ran off.

Rag, still hugging emery asked, "Are you just going to let them go?" She didn't mind, especially if he would just stay there. She whispered, "I was scared, and you know what, I don't get scared easily."

John did not follow the others, instead he stayed where he was, crying.

John looked up. He whiped the tears out of his eyes. But unlike those of a normal human, they did not grow cruel when he looked at emery. He just looked sad. "I want to be angry at you. I want to hate you for killing my brother." John stated. "But i can't. I can't be angry at you. I understand that he was provoking you, and i understand that he was asking for it. That's why i can't be angry." He looked across the plains. "My family always called me strange. Said it was odd, how I always said it was Ok, and that i foregave people, and never got angry." He said, talking to no one inpraticular. He smiled at Rag, "It was nice meeting you." He then turned hi back and walked away.

Rag watched him go.

Kei grunted. "I could use a little help down here."

John either didn't here Emery, or just ignored him. He walked waching his feet and with a dazed look on his face.

Rag bent down to Key. "Well hello there." She looked at his wounds. "Ouch those have got to hurt..... Um.." She pointed to his shirt. "Rip a few peices we'll bandage them. Uh Kei? why arn't you regenerating like you should?"

John stopped, he didn't turn around. "What do you want?" He asked quietly, defeatedly.

Kei shrugged, "AMybe the bullets had something within then to sstop that? OWCH! that hurt" He grumbled sullenly.

John whiped around, looking at Emery in shock. "Help you? How can i help you?" He asked. "Please, could I just go spen some time on my own i need to think."

((so I have two possible tracks that our friend John could follow. He could join them (you'de have to make a convincing argument to get him on our sid ehowever.) Or i'll have him disspear for a while and return soon.))

"I will" John nodded and turned and walked away.

Rag watched emery return to the group. Kei was bandaged and fairing better than he was before. His regeneration was coming slowly back to him.
