spaceJazzy grinned when her bludger collided with the chaser, mentally patting herself on the back. She hadn't missed the Slytherin chaser trying to save the boy, but he'd failed, which stroked her ego just a little bit. The beater was only a little older than her, but she didn't think this was his first year playing, so it was pretty awesome to've gotten the ball past him. The second year took off after the iron ball again, and this time aimed for Devonte; he'd gotten the ball from their Vice Captain, after all. Besides... she'd learned her lesson last game. She couldn't hit beaters, for some reason. She wasn't going to avoid them forever, but for now? Yeah, sure. She needed more practice before she could go toe to toe. Chasers and Seekers were fine targets for now.

Ugh! Bullocks! Tristan groaned and slammed his fist into the neck of his broom which knocked him off course for half a moment until he righted himself. Another bludger was struck but he quickly gauged it wouldn't reach it's destination, so instead, he chased after it in hopes of scaring off the younger beater, Jazz, by redirecting it back at her.

Once Nina trotted onto the field, Axel immediately stole close to her side and greeted her shortly before the start of the game. Before he knew it, he was on his broom taking into position while the quaffle was tossed in the air. Gideon attempted to wrestle it free, but lost it, which prompted Joel to retake possession. Once Joel lost it, however, Axel spurned forward hoping to steal from Devonte.

Camila shook her head and laughed off Benji's antics--if she didn't know any better, she'd have assumed he was used to the cold--or at least, with the way Mori had treated him at first. Things had gotten better, of course, and while Camila still wasn't sure how she felt on the subject of their budding romance taking a turn for the stable and serious, she decided it best to unleash her worries on the game at hand. But she was distracted, and bloody seven hells, it was freezing! With Devonte in possession of the quaffle, she kept to a tight formation beside him to ward off oncoming steals by cutting off their line of attack.

spaceJazzy was pretty annoyed at herself for missing that shot; that's what she got for getting cocky, she reprimanded. A second later, she was struck by a bludger aimed at her by the Slytherin beater who'd tried to deflect the shot on Kyson. The ball slammed into her side, hard, but not nearly as hard as it could've, so she was grateful for that, at least. She grit her teeth and took off after the same ball, taking a shot at it to aim it towards the Slytherin seeker. She could've gone for revenge, but that wasn't really practical. Besides, she wanted to give Dani as much a shot at getting to the snitch first as she could.

Avoiding the attempt at stealing from the older Gryffindor chaser, his eyes flicked around the field quickly to see any opportunity to get to the goals faster. Seeing Camila flying fairly close to him, he tossed the ball over to her, thinking that she might have a better chance of keeping it than he did.

Still gearing up after his last shot had hit its mark, Tristan revolved around the skies to survey the players. Still no sign of the seekers, although he swore he thought he saw Evander flutter by for a second there, but couldn't be sure. His chasers were gaining to the goal posts, so he aimed at a rogue bludger for their keeper and captain, Prudence.

Damn. He missed. it took a hard second for Axel to regain his bearings and straighten his broom into a smooth sail. Just as suddenly as one serpent had the ball, it was tossed off to another who advanced further down the field. Axel cut down hard to cross paths who his step sister, who was currently in possession of the ball, and with the intent of timing it right, he swerved down to steal from Camila.

spaceJazzy had to admit, getting hit by a bludger another beater had hit at her did not suck nearly as much as getting hit by one that she'd been trying to send towards someone else. The ball smacked hard into her, and this time, she heard a very distinct crack. Probably broke a rib that time, she thought miserably. But, she had to keep going. Even if it hurt like hell. Ugh, her sister probably wouldn't even notice how much that'd hurt. Beth was tough like that. Jazzy thought she was, but right now, she didn't really feel like it. With a sigh, she narrowed her eyes, and this time, tried to aim the ball at Camila, hoping to hit the girl before she could manage to catch the pass from Devonte.

Locking eyes with Devonte long enough to get into a position to catch the quaffle, an outstretched hand snatched the ball midair and tucked it up against her belly as she flew down the field. Camila breezed past Axel, sticking her tongue out at him despite the narrowing distance between her and the goal posts. At the last second, she barely managed to dodge a bludger as she pulled upwards into the scoring zone and flung the quaffle into the center hoop.

He missed, but it wasn't that far off, he tried to console himself. At least he hadn't gotten smacked with a bludger yet, so that was more than can be said for some. A part of him had to wonder why the older beaters were holding back; were they letting the younger ones duke it out first or were they biding their time for something important? Either way, Tristan moved to hurl a hard-hitting thwack into the side of bludger, hopefully, to slam it down on Danica across the field.
