"Uh-?" Reiner barely managed to stumble out before the mermaid princess had him in her clutches, his brief attempts to move away to give her more space thwarted. "H-hello, Serena." His face reddened a bit. Reiner was a rather passionate and forward young man, and yet it seemed Serena always managed to get the better of him. No one else could manage to make him feel helpless, but she did it as naturally as she breathed it seemed. "Er, February?" Well, that was a good guess. Serena was certainly not shy it seemed, A trait they shared, but she may be even more forward than him. "O-oh, right, Valentine's..." When was the last time he had thought about Valentine's? "Oh, I don't think you'd have fun with me there. Why not ask someone more pleasant to be around? One of your... many sisters, for example?" Yes, many, many sisters... The fact that he suggested she go with a sister clearly indicated her romantic intentions flew right over his head. Like father, like son. Reiner wasn't AS dense as his father with women, probably, but... it seemed like it might be comparable. "Hmmm... I don't accept, then!" Clearly, he wanted to see just how she intended to kidnap him, or more so, he was calling her bluff. "You shouldn't make threats you cannot back up, my good fish princess!" My good fish princess. What a normal way of addressing someone! Neither of these two seemed to be terribly normal, though.(( OOC: ))

Serena's smile remained as she let one hand slide out from under his arm, reaching up to playfully cup under his chin, and turn his face to her. "Am I talking to my sisters? Mm, no! I think I'm talking to Reiner, and he is the most pleasant one to be around to me! " She let go now, returning her hand to slip back around his arm. She wasn't afraid at all to be so close to him like this! "You don't do Valentine's stuff with siblings, you do it with someone special. You are special to me, so that's that! " "Ohh, a challenge.." She hugged him a little tighter, her face now beaming, yes, she was quite a strange one! "I cannot wait to make you mine. This 'fish princess' is going to win your innocent little heart! " It was a wonder if she meant those words to sound..a little to affectionate, or if she just meant a friendlier version. Reiner didn't seem to register romance well, though, so she probably didn't have much to worry about had it sounded a little naughty!

"Ah-" Reiner felt himself quickly shut up as she took hold of his face and turned it to her. This simple act was... so... well, Reiner's face turned a deeper shade of red, and she might feel his heartbeat quicken. She... really knew what she wanted, and her unmatched ability to make him feel helpless to her might be conveyed well when he was left speechless for several moments even after she released him, left just staring at her. Until at last, he blinked several times. "...Oh!" She really had quite the affect on him, didn't she... "I... am not... why would I... Ah, I'm feeling a little lightheaded..." One could practically see the humorous panic in the young prince's eyes brought upon him by this pushy princess. He was some kind of victim! "...Uh...!" Oh no, she took that challenge seriously. He expected her to just immediately drop her bluff, but she was being serious?! And the more she spoke, the more his face reddened and his heartbeat quickened. It was... very obvious that no girl had ever flirted with this young man before. "...! I...! I-I am not... having sinful thoughts!!" Oh boy, he really inherited the winning traits of both his parents, didn't he? His father's denseness with women, and his mother's... well, whatever this was. Panic at arousal? He pulled away from her in apparent panic, shockingly managing to free himself, but his rush to free himself from these apparent thoughts of his just caused him to stumble backwards and hit the floor. It was a soft floor though, so it wasn't like it was going to hurt. After stumbling to the ground in apparent, sheer panic, Reiner just.... continued to lay there, his eyes practically swirling He should just stay here, still, until he could properly function again. Because clearly, Serena managed to short-circuit his brain somehow!(( OOC: ))

"Hee,hee..Look at that red face, you look so cute, Reiner! " She was enjoying teasing him so much, his nervousness and speechlessness really showed how little experienced he was in romance at all, which in her book, was a very good thing! It meant Reiner was un-touched by any other.Serena herself had never found interest in any other guys, but something about Reiner really grabbed her attention, maybe a little to much! He would probably be happier right now not being teased to death! "Hmm? " She blinked, the tiniest hint of a smirk playing at her once innocent face. She leaned forward a bit in the sofa, glancing down at the teenager now planted with his back to the floor, looking rather silly, and open to even harsher teases! He may regret having just stayed there like that in a few seconds. She slid herself off the sofa, and Reiner would feel the weight of the slender mermaid princess craw over him, like a sneaky little panther, catching her prey. "You look so helpless.." She lowered down, whispering something into his ear. "Maybe i'm having sinful thoughts.."

"Wha... I'm... Not... No?!??!" It was clear just how good Reiner was at forming coherent sentences when he was flustered. It was also clear just how little experience he had. It was possible other girls had shown interest in him before, and it just flew right over his dense skull. But it seemed he wasn't so dense to not realize Serena's intentions, as forward and obvious as she was being. ...Or maybe he still didn't realize it, and he thought she was accidentally causing him to become so nervous. Who knew. He would soon realize what was apparently the worst mistake of his life, as the incredibly forward princess continued her onslaught. She really took after a certain someone! "Uhhh-?!??!" He let out in panic, as those swirly eyes of his widened further. Feeling her small weight atop him, seeing that smirk on her face, and hearing her call out his helplessness REALLY made it obvious who was in charge right now. And as she leaned further against him, and whispered that very provocative statement, Reiner... well... it was like he was a computer with a blue screen, suddenly broken and unable to process new information. He practically froze there, seeming even more like helpless prey ensnared by a predator. He would have probably passed out if his body wasn't so... excited by the girl on top of him. This excitement wouldn't stay secret long, especially with her leaning down against him and whispering such.... lewd desires in his ear! And it was this feeling that finally broke him from the apparent trance. "..!!" Well, bit too late to hide that. So what did the mighty, skilled prince do? ....Brought up his hands, covering his face, both to hide the extreme redness and in apparent shame. "Th-this... isn't... proper....!!!" He finally managed the muffled voice, apparently brave enough to speak again when he wasn't staring into her smug expression anymore. Maybe Reiner wasn't such a holy prince after all.(( OOC: ))

The two-faced princess grinned playfully, pressing her body weight a little more against him, she could tell someone was becoming a little excited, it wasn't very hard to tell with her light clothing! "Ohh...Did a over-do-it? " She asked with a small giggle, still not moving off hm. "Would it be more proper if we go to your room? " She trailed her fingers softly through his hair as she continued to lay over him. "I'm just kidding...Ehehe...! ..For now, anyway. " Was she really? Or maybe she knew it was to soon to play at this naughty game, she did like him, that much was a little to obvious. Ever since they were young, she had such a silly crush on the young prince, but now, the were no longer children, and she only wanted him more! Finally, she carefully got up off of him, stepping to the side, and offering him a hand to help him up!

Alisa "Eheheh, you look so hot when you're averting your gaze in utter terror..." Alisa teased her girlfriend, who was probably mortified of Alisa by this point. Was she regretting her choices yet? Surely she had to be by now!"...We're still here in case you forgot." Ephraim said as he walked alongside Athena."Who are you again?" Alisa responded sarcastically, as if she forgot all other knowledge in the universe when she was with Azura. "You know, this is kinda like a double date. How cute! Good job Athena, you managed to bag a king!""We're taking your sister to the mansion, Alisa." Ephraim responded flatly. She just wouldn't shut up with the romance teasing!"Uh huuuh, a mansion. Where we all live. With beds. Scandalous... you need to be gentle with my sister for her first tim-""Anyway!" Ephraim pressed on a little further ahead, opening the door in what seemed like a gentlemanly gesture, but was more likely just to shut Alisa up. "I don't know how you can deal with this." He said flatly to Azura."Heheheh... Oh, speaking of that, Azura, we should share a room! It's really about that time in the relationship, don't you think?" Yes, the relationship that had just started. It was far past time to move in together! "Any accommodations? Should I convert half the room into a big fish tank for you?" It was hard to know if she was actually being serious or not with Alisa. "...Is that racist? That might be racist. But it's a serious question! Wait, do you need salt water or fresh water?" She pulled a notepad out of her satchel, followed by a pen. "Hold on, let me just take notes... I assume you don't want other fish since they'd feel imprisoned, right? How big do you need the tank to be? And was it salt water or fresh water? You didn't answer.""..." Ephraim took Athena by the hand and pulled her into the mansion and away from the very, very insane elf sister of hers. Leaving Azura to her fate, Ephraim turned to face Athena. "This is the mansion you were told about. A safe haven for outlanders like ourselves. There are plenty of vacant rooms if you do decide to stay." At least he was trying to be helpful, unlike her dear loving sister! (( OOC: ))

"...Wha--?? I'm...not? " She was blushing though, and that probably wasn't a very terrified look to most people! Yes, Azura would have a very interesting life, from here on out. What surprises would her new girlfriend bring to her everyday with that never-ending naughty mind of hers? It was amazing how different the two sisters were, Athena was so innocent, and clearly not so experienced in romance, then again, nether was she, and she still understood more then Athena did! "..Well, there is one positive to this. I can escape to the sea when I need a Alisa break.." She said with a playful smirk, clearly intending for Alisa to hear. She wouldn't REALLY, obviously, she was just rolling with her fun sarcastic little moments. But her sarcastic attitude would be shut down almost instantly at Alisa's next words, that...sudden suggestion, and even more, her strange questions to go along with it! One could almost see the sweat drop over her head. "..I-I don't know about that?! " They should at least have been dating for longer then a day to move into the same room together! ...right? Oh, darn her properness. "..I am not in need of a fish tank, just like you don't need a tree house! " Her face was so red, did she really think she needed one?? "You're so silly..!! I can manage well as any human would, I only need to go back to the sea once every day, depending on how much energy I use like this. The sea is the only thing that I can survive by. " She was like a saltwater fish, she needed her seawater! "Oh, this is very beautiful! " Athena said with a smile as she took a moment to look around, just the open hall that would lead into the living room alone was very pretty, and so large and open. She had never been in a mansion before. "It's kind of like a castle, isn't it? I feel like I might get lost! Um..I mean, if it is really, truly alright for me to stay here? I would like to stay close to where my sister is, so this would be so perfect! What can I do, to help out here? " She meant, chores, house hold things, of course! She didn't want to stay here and not offer help on such important things when they were letting her stay here!

Alisa "Heeehh," A widen grin came over Alisa's features. "You look pretty panicked to me. Just how I like it... I'll bet your heart is racing. I want to feeeeeel it." Apparently she was merciful enough to spare Azura being mortified further though, as she somehow managed to keep herself from openly groping the mermaid. That was some surprising self-restraint! "Ohh, so sassy! What a confident fish you are! How cocky to think you could escape me so easily! You'll have to watch yourself when you're at sea. I'll be the shark that circles the poor little minnow, eventually pouncing on her prey!" Azura would find too few chances to get an Alisa break, it seemed. Time would tell just how serious her threat was! "Don't know about what? Oh, the fish tank size? Is it too small? I mean, we could convert 90% of the room into a fish tank if that would work. Really, I just need a bed, I don't spend much time in my room aside from sleeping... Oh! Maybe we could put the bed in a small air pocket, then you could have the entire room as a fish tank!" Alisa was maybe a little too accommodating. She responded to her uncertainty so casually, as though it was already decided they were moving in together. Poor Azura might have to be a little more assertive to get a word in edgewise, but that obviously wasn't going to happen! "A treehouse? Oh, now that's definitely racist! I guess a lot of my people do live in treehouses though, so you win this round, little minnow." Did she really though, with how adorably red her face was? "Wellllll, I have a strange feeling you'll be spending a lot of energy, so..." She had a rather lewd expression for a moment after saying that, before returning back to matter-of-fact. "So having a small watery home away from the sea could be helpful! I mean, have you ever even tried it? Plus, having you as my prisoner in a fish tank sounds really hot..." She muttered that last part more to herself with her mouth covered by the notepad, though given how close they were, Azura almost certainly would hear her. "Oh, fine, we'll shelf that topic for now." She tossed the pen and notepad away, as if they were entirely worthless to her. "Huh, where'd Ephraim and Athena go? Hopefully whatever they're doing isn't too immodest. They shouldn't do anything I wouldn't do! ...Well, actually, wait, I should rephrase that..." Yes, she really should. "Anyway, now that those squares are gone, I have you all to myself once again! Hahaha!! Now, it's time... to...!!!" She raised her hands, her fingers wiggling deviously, before...! She took Azura gently by the hand, raising her hand up to her lips and placing a soft kiss on the top. "...As much as I love teasing you, and oh trust me, I love it a lot, I just wanted to... I don't know. This means a lot to me, you know. You were my first... everything." She smiled sincerely, clutching her hand closer to her chest, but not in any kind of purposefully immodest way. "My father used to talk about you and your siblings, you know. I always thought to myself how much I longed to be your friends. That we're... together now... I just hope that they're all happy if they can see us. I mean, I'm definitely not good enough for you, I know! I'm sure your parents know too, but I'm going to keep improving. I'm going to become a woman worthy of the love you've given me. I promise. And hopefully I can become a queen that my father could be proud of, too. It's not gonna be an easy path, heh. That's obvious. So if you want out, well... n-no, you're mine already! It's too late to run now." There was uncertainty in her eyes as she said this, as they drifted away for a few moments. "...I mean, unless you... if you ever want to stop, obviously I... I just want you to be happy." If that meant less Alisa, then less Alisa would be what she got. It would be very hard for her, but she wanted Azura's happiness much more than she wanted her own. "Lots of fish in the sea and all that, right? But if you don't mind me being selfish, I don't want to throw this minnow back. It's... the best catch of my life." She leaned in, placing a soft kiss on her cheek tenderly, before flashing her yet another genuine smile, this time a much wider one. She didn't know what the future held, but she knew that this feeling was something she wanted to hold onto for as long as she could. This love."It's not any trouble. Cloud, a man from this world, bought this place for off-worlders to have someplace safe to live. And like I said, there's plenty of room." He paused a moment as she offered to help. "...Well, you aren't required to do anything. Though I will say, the lack of any culinary expertise has been the subject of considerable unrest for many living here. ...That is to say, if you can cook well, you would be the first." Yes, despite all the people living here, no one was very good in the kitchen... (( OOC: ))

"Oh gosh.." Azura would never have her normal skin tone back on her cheeks, due to the constant blushing Alisa put her through! "You're a very wild, aren't you? I think you are already the shark, a shark out of water a little to determined to get her prey! " "Let's..completely forget about the fish tank idea! I'm quite comfortable in a soft bed too! In fact, I love my soft bed. No tank needed! " Azura smiled confidently at her little win, such a big win! "Living in a tree house does sound like fun. They must be such cute little homes..I hope I can see them one day! " She really just wanted to see all of the Forest Kingdom, she had high hopes that the people there would be as kind as Alisa's father was. "...T-That's a nice try, but the answer is still a big no! No tank! " She could probably repeat these words over and over again, and later on, the topic would find some way to come back! Azura thought for sure, Alisa's wildness was going to increase with the leave of Athena and Ephraim, especially when she raised her hands, it was a good guess what she was planning to do! But even more surprising when she instead, took her hand in that gentle hold of hers, and kissed it. Well, that was a big point for a win on Alisa's side, and she didn't even know it! That small gesture really was adorable, and brought a gentle smile to Azura as she looked into her eyes, listening to her speak on a much lighter note. Though she could sense the uncertainty in her voice, too. Reaching her free hand up, she placed it over Alisa's hand now so they were both kind of holding onto each other's hand close. "I feel the same way, back there...those moments we shared, I don't think I could put it into words how very special it all was to me, and how instantly, you've become my very special someone. My only regret is never having gotten to meet you sooner.." She said to her, smiling.. "They can, I am sure of it. My family would have loved you so much. They would also know what's best for me, and that best is you...So I don't want to ever hear you say you aren't good enough for me. That isn't at all true! If that was true, why have I been so happy since meeting you? Why does my stomach turn to knots when I think of the times I have to leave you, to go back out there? I don't really like the idea of not being with you now. Is that...sad? Maybe. But I know for certain I don't want to be anywhere else but with my Alisa..My very pretty elf who I want to spend the rest of my days with.." She finally finished, her smile remained, and after Alisa's sweet kiss to her cheek, Azura leaned in against her, letting her hand go, and gently pulling her other hand out of Alisa's hold, only to settle her arms around Alisa in a loving hold.."Be as selfish as you can be..and don't let me go, promise? " She whispered softly. "Really? What a kind man he must be. I can't wait to meet him! " Uh oh. Cloud may never want to return home now. "Oh..? Is that true? He,he..Then, you have great luck, I am quite good in that field! I would love to make something special for everyone, an extra special meal today, to show my thanks for all the kindness.." She said, smiling brightly.

Alisa "Oh, I've been found out. It's true, I'm a shark in disguise. That's why I'm so at-tract-ed to fish." Alisa grinned, poking Azura on the nose. These two were insufferably cute, weren't they. "Ohh, is this your way of saying you want to share a bed with me? Heheh! I'm flattered, but really, you don't need to say it in such a roundabout way. Of course we'll be sharing a bed!" Alisa had quite a knack for hearing whatever she wanted to hear when people spoke it seemed. "Well... hopefully we can visit the Forest Kingdom soon. Just... my people are pretty wary of outsiders, so be ready for that. And my mother..." She took a breath, oh boy, her mother... "...She's... not as... open-minded as my father. She's kinda like the exact opposite of him in a lot of ways. I'm not sure if- well, we'll deal with that when it comes. There's a girl named Carmen in my kingdom who..." Well, this was a bit humiliating to talk about. "She beat me a lot in battles and contests. Really talented girl, but she's really bad socially. She had a lot of fun making the High Princess look helpless ever since we were kids. All this to say that, because she's "proven" she's superior to me, my mother was very insistent that I marry her. That way the next generation of royals wouldn't be weak. She wanted me to marry the most powerful and capable the Forest Kingdom had, and that was Carmen. And she thinks Ocean Serenitians are rather weak, so, haha... we'll see how that goes..." She couldn't say she was looking forward to giving her the news... "Still, she married my father when her parents were vehemently against it, so I don't think she has any room to stand here. Even if she did, I don't care. I want to be with you forever. And what I want, I get! You're mine and that's that!" It would be no small feat to try to convince the stubborn elf to change her mind when she was dead-set on something. Possibly an impossible task--and she had never been so dead-set on anything else before. "Nice try? Ohh, so you liked the sound of that, huh? Hehe... interesting! I'll keep that in mind..." Azura might have to be more careful with her word choice... It certainly made Alisa feel great to hear that Azura felt the same about their little encounter--it had been special, especially thanks to their long conversation prior. "We have a lot of time to make up for, but all the time in the world to do it." Alisa was definitely a glass half full kind of girl. "Oh, now I know you're lying! Pretty, me? Funny!" She had always had a very low self-esteem, though this entire situation with Azura had raised her self-esteem quite a bit. "You're the beautiful mermaid here. Though I guess I DID get you to date me even when you were straight, so I must be pretty hot, huh." She grinned. As she put her arms around her, Alisa returned the embrace for several moments... before moving her arms down, surprisingly not for anything improper--instead, she lifted the mermaid rather effortlessly in a princess carry. "I'll carry you like this for the rest of our lives if I have to." If she ever got stuck in mermaid form and still wanted to be on land, Alisa would carry her everywhere! "Stronger than I look, aren't I? Bows take a lot of strength to use, you know. You're practically a feather." She winked, before leaning in, and pressing her lips against Azura's lovingly. Oh yes, she surely must have seemed cool doing this. No way Azura didn't feel swept off her feet! ...Probably! Maybe..."I'm sure that will be a relief for many here." Ephraim himself wasn't terribly picky with food. He would prefer if his food tasted good, obviously, but when you're marching for months on end in enemy territory, you'll be much better off if the taste of food is of little consequence. "...Tell me, Athena: can you fight? I see you wear a bow, but are you trained? ...It goes without saying a world would be better off if there were no need for battle, but this world is a dangerous one. If you aren't skilled in battle, it might be a good idea to hone your skills, and I would be happy to train with you sometime if you need a partner. We've recently made a powerful enemy, and he could return at any time. If you aren't confident enough in your abilities, it would be a good idea to hide should such a threat show up again. Worst case-scenario, find me, and I'll do my best to protect you. You'll just need to stay behind me." He decided it would be best to work these details out upfront so there'd be less of a chance she'd panic if such a situation arose. He couldn't promise he would be able to protect someone if he was engaged in a duel, but as long as she had direction, she'd be less likely to panic in that scenario. And panicking would just make the situation much worse. "I don't mean to cause you undue worry, but it's important to keep in mind. Though this mansion is a home to outlanders, it also attracts those who seek the strong." It was logical--when you amassed all the so-called heroes in one place, anyone with a grudge against them, or anyone who wanted them gone, would know exactly where to look. In this way, the mansion was one of the most unsafe places someone could live, but it was also the only option for many off-worlders. (( OOC: ))

"You're so lucky you're the only shark I like! Any others would be scared off with my magic. " She teased her with a playful smile. At her next words, Azura just decided it was best to give up, it didn't seem like she would be winning much in this relationship! "You must really be afraid of the dark, you need my company to keep you warm and safe! " Well, she could at least be playful too as she played along with her little move in idea! "Though..if you are being serious...How much do you have in your room? Um, well..I only ask because I don't have anything but clothing, really. So if one of us is to move in with the other, I can do it. It's a lot less stuff to move around, right? " As they went on to speak of the Forest Kingdom, Azura's expression kind of fell a bit. What Alisa explained to her in such a short time was rather disappointing to hear, and not what she expected at all! "I ..see..That is very far from how I imagined they would be like...Your people. Are they...mean to outsiders? " She didn't care for rude people, really. So that would be an interesting time for sure. Last thing she needed was to make enemies with them all due to some form of rudeness! "..And this Carmen..I don't like the sound of her already! What if..your mother tries to force you to marry her? --- I don't think I want to see your kingdom so soon, after all..I might cause problems for you and your people. " Yes, it seemed avoiding it completely was the best idea yet! "..Hmm? Where do you get liking out of my nice try?? " This was hard, she couldn't pay that close attention to her own words before she spoke, she would really have to get used to being more careful how she spoke around Alisa! Azura gave her a look! A sort of scolding expression as she refused to believe something very obviously true. "Until you believe in yourself, no more calling me 'beautiful'. You are very beautiful, you better start believing in yourself! " Really, how could she not see that? It was crazy to think she didn't see how very pretty she was. Her seriousness though, wouldn't last much longer as she was so suddenly, lifted up into a princess carry, creating a small blush to the mermaid's face. "..!..You...are so full of surprises..aren't you? " As if just the way she was holding her wasn't enough to make her swoon, she would lean in and kiss her. Ah, she could melt in her arms like this, but instead, she would much rather return the loving kiss as she wrapped her arms around her shoulders gently.
"Hmm? Oh...! ..Well...The thing is, I'm not very good with it...I tried to train with it, but...honestly, I don't have it in me. I never wanted to learn to fight. I want to help people, but I want to do it my way..I want to heal! I want to bring happiness to people with smiles and laughter...These are very important to surviving too. I don't think anyone see's it this way, though..There is already so much violence in the world--in every world, it seems. Each world is filling up with more darkness, and not enough light.." What she was trying to say, was, more people choose to fight, they choose to spill blood in battle, but there was very little healers or light magic users. Everyone just choose violence to survive. "I can heal, with my arrows....and they never miss their target. On the other hand, if it's an arrow meant to hurt something, I miss quite often..Because my heart isn't in the ways of hurting others.." She didn't hate people who fought, of course, people like Ephraim who did what they had to do to protect those around him, people he loved and cared about. Or anyone here in this mansion who choose to fight for the good of the world, it just wasn't something SHE wanted to do. "...Though I am against it, I still would not stand by and let something hurt my family, or people I care about. I will do what I can to fight, even if my heart aches when I do. " Her smile was quick to return, despite the slightly unpleasant conversation, and she let herself slide behind Ephraim, and he would feel her hands suddenly resting over his shoulders, and her chin..on his shoulder as she stood on her toes to position herself behind him. " Like this? " She asked him. She was referring to his 'stay behind me' if something did happen! "I don't think you could move very well, maybe....this far? " She let go of him again, taking several steps back to give them a good enough distance that he had enough room to move with his weapon, and she had her own room for her bow. "I can heal everyone from a distance, if you need me to! Right? "

___ ___ _________ ___ ___ "I know I must place my duty as a commander above my life as a man. And once I am crowned, I most certainly will do exactly that. However, I am not ready to divorce myself from my compassion just yet. I will find the balance somehow, the means to save my country and her people. That is the king I wish to become, and so that is the man I must be." "Right..." War was terrible, and this was something Ephraim knew well. He had seen it firsthand, and he had seen it bring the kingdom he loved brought to the brink of collapse. He would never argue otherwise, and yet there was that drive in him still... his unquenchable thirst for battle. It was something he had only ever really discussed with Eirika, because he recognized how unhealthy it was. What sort of king had such impulses? Being in this foreign world, he should want nothing more than to return to Renais as soon as possible--and he did--but he would be lying were he to claim part of him didn't revel in this chance to battle. To battle more than just monsters and soldiers--to battle "heroes" and "villains" gathered here from across the apparent multiverse. This problem of his was only one of the king's many flaws, all of which he was painfully aware. He had many strengths, but just as many shortcomings--if not more. "That's an admirable desire. You remind me very much of my twin sister, Eiriika. Especially before the war. She was... she should never have been forced to take up arms. She always used to speak about how she believed people should be able to solve their issues without taking up a sword. Ideally, this would be true, but it would be naïve to believe people would always do so. ...She knows that now. And it's lamentable." Her naivety was gone along with her innocence. She was still a kind and compassionate young woman, but that gentle, bright expression she wore before the war was often replaced now by more steeled eyes, honed in the fire of a war she shouldn't have had to participate in. Perhaps if Ephraim had not been so selfish before, she might not have... yet another mistake the king would have to live with for the rest of his days. "Don't loee that part of yourself, Athena. Hide away from fighting if that's what you must do to keep it. Taking life changes a person." Quite the severe topic, though the moment seemed not without levity, as she suddenly slipped behind him, an did... something very bizarrely adorable. The king was caught off-guard, grunting slightly as his face turned a bit warmer. What... was she doing? It was... a little too cute. And that was a word Ephraim had only used to describe L'Arachel in the past. "Th-that's..." Suddenly, he felt very without his composure. His body stiffened instinctively on her touch, though was it only because of his social awkwardness? "R-right..." Suddenly, he felt very flustered. And rather nervous. What unfortunately broke the kiss prematurely was a twitch of Alisa's ears, followed by the elf darting her head to the side. Her eyes were focused elsewhere, and she seemed to be keenly observing something with her senses. "...." Her pointy ear twitched again. "Someone's trying not to be seen." She said quietly to Azura, placing her firmly down on her feet. Ah, she really wanted to keep holding her for a while longer, but that would have to come later. She turned, her eyes fixated squarely on a shadowy area near the front of the mansion as she intentionally stood protectively in front of Azura."..." Her ears twitched once more, and instantly as they did, the elf threw her hand out, waving it and creating a magical barrier in the same pattern as her hand waved, and blocking the bullets that sped straight towards them precisely. Rather than erecting a full magical barrier, creating small, precise ones to block was Alisa's own technique to conserve her magical energy and keep her from overexerting herself in a long fight. Drawing her bow and nocking it in under a second, crackling electricity gathered on the tip of the bow, and she let it loose, and a moment later a scream of pain could be heard as their would-be assailant was shocked into unconsciousness, dropping to the ground. The electricity served another purpose, as the flash of lightning was enough to light the area, showing there were three foes in the group. Why didn't she sense them with her Serenitian senses? It was only thanks to her heightened natural senses she noticed them before they attacked. With the first foe felled and their apparent plot discovered, the other two enemies brandished the same longsword, charging towards the princesses. Nocking two more arrows at once, Alisa turned her bow, letting loose both the heavy arrows. One of them found their mark, attaching to the torso of one of the two men who were dressed the same and dragging him straight to the floor, pinning him there. The other narrowly dodged though, and swiped his sword at Alisa's bow, disarming her. "Tch!" Alisa drew another arrow, manipulating the matter of the arrow, causing the body to expand and the tip to grow in length, rendering the arrow nearly indistinguishable from a sword, which she used to deflect his next strike. Gathering magical energy around her now free hand, she slammed her palm into the torso of the helmeted foe, the extra magic energy causing him to launch far further backwards than he likely expected. His skill was clear to see though, as he managed to catch himself on his feet with only a bit of stumbling. Manipulating the matter of the arrow again, she fashioned it into a makeshift spear quickly, stepping forward and jumping before hurling it at him. He sprinted forward, sliding under the spear, catching it right as it flew overhead, before raising up to rear the spear back, only for a wave of her fingertip to cause the arrow-spear to become much, much heavier in his grasp, forcing him down to the ground. The other man who had been put on the ground by her heavy arrow finally managed to rip it from his torso, standing, as the other man let go of the arrow-spear and stood, both brandishing their swords. Alisa sighed. "Are we really doing this, boys?" One of them responded by hurling his blade directly for Alisa, the blade out to skewer her. Raising her arms, she made a circular motion with them, opening a green circle of energy which swallowed the incoming sword. The same circle appeared behind the man's still-armed friend, and in the same instant, that sword flew out of the apparent portal, stabbing his ally straight through the back and putting him down on his knees. The man who threw the sword was clearly caught off-guard by this, but Alisa wasted no time, turning her hand and grasping the portal and throwing it directly at the now unarmed man. It spun through the air before positioning itself beneath his feet, and then he fell through it. He fell through it, and through the same portal which opened up above him. And because it opened above him, he fell straight through the portal below him again. And again. And again. And again. And again... He was moving pretty fast through those portals, continuing to pick up speed as he just fell through them over and over again. "Don't worry, you'll reach terminal velocity soon enough." Alisa said, sounding rather unconcerned as she began to stride towards the kneeling man who had been impaled by his ally's sword. "Who sent you?" She commanded. The man raised his helmeted face, pausing a moment, before chuckling and lowering his face again. "You really are from another world, huh... You don't know what a SOLDIER is." "Am I supposed to be impressed by that?" She reached out, placing her fingertip on the sword that was stabbed through him. It began to glow a molten red color, and the man showed clear signs of pain. "Answer the question." "Hhhghh! Go to hell!" "Really? How long did it take you to come up with that one?" She released the touch of the sword, which relented in the apparent torture. Waving her finger with sparks crackling on the tip of it, the man's wrists and ankles were bound together. "You just sit there like a good boy." She turned, walking over to Azura now. "I think-" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!" "Oh yeah, that guy's still falling." Yep, still was just falling in that perpetual loop. "Well, good news is you hit terminal velocity, so that's as fast as you'll be going." Turning her attention back to Azura, she continued. "They targeted us for a reason. It wasn't just a coincidence--that guy said "you really are" from another world, which means someone told them that. I just don't know if it's one of us specifically, or just because we're Serenitian." She was going to find out though, even if he had to probe her prisoner's mind to find the information. (( OOC: ))

"You think so? ..Would it be dishonorable for me not to fight? Everyone in the Forest Kingdom is powerful, they're almost all very well skilled in battle, especially Alisa! She is amazing..So, if I was to tell my mother I don't want to hurt others, or take a life..." A small frown finally replaced that happy little smile of hers. "I don't know what she would think.Or the rest of my people, to be honest.." She lowered her voice, keeping her words just loud enough for only Ephraim to her, should anyone else be near by. "A lot of my people already think of me as weak, one time I over-heard some of them talking about me, they said because I'm so weak and don't want to fight in battle, that I'm not worthy of being a princess of the kingdom. They said I can't possibly be related by blood to my mother and father.." That was a bit of information she never spoke of, not once. But it seemed their conversation was the right time to mention, due to her weaknesses. She may of wanted to hear what he had to say about it too, he seemed..like someone she could trust the advice of. "..So maybe, if the next time I go back..I can show them how good I can be with healing, and maybe helping in other ways. Do you think that might change their opinion of me? " She took a moment, before continuing.. "You're sister sounds like someone I would love to meet! I don't meet a lot of people who feel the same way as me, so I hope I can meet her soon! " She said with that returned sweet smile of hers. This girl could never stay down for long! "Hmm? " She blinked at him curiously. "Oh!, your face is turning a little red. Are you okay? "
In the next few moments, Azura was kind of at a loss of....what exactly was happening. She was so zooned into that loving moment between them, that it took a moment for her head to wrap around what was happening! Fortunately, Alisa was...beyond impressive, and in little time she handled the situation well on her own before Azura could really do anything to help! "...I can.. maybe help get him to talk. Although I would rather not take such...violent measures, we do need to know why they did this. For the sake of everyone else, too.." Since they didn't know exactly who they were after, it could be all of Avalanche's members for that matter. "...Near drowning...can get even the most stubborn person to talk.."

___ ___ _________ ___ ___ "I know I must place my duty as a commander above my life as a man. And once I am crowned, I most certainly will do exactly that. However, I am not ready to divorce myself from my compassion just yet. I will find the balance somehow, the means to save my country and her people. That is the king I wish to become, and so that is the man I must be." "There's nothing wrong with desiring not to battle," Ephraim reassured her firmly. "That's how everyone should see things, but that's not how it is unfortunately. If anyone would reject you for feeling that way, they aren't worth your time. I don't know your mother, but I don't think she'd be disappointed to learn this. No parent should be, I don't think." He knew how complicated things could be with one's parents, however... he didn't exactly have the most loving upbringing. His relationship with his father had certainly been complicated. "You have no reason to feel insecure, Athena. Even as royals, it isn't possible for us to catch the admiration of everyone in our kingdom. The closest one I've ever seen to doing that is Eirika. The fact is that you want what's best for your kingdom and your people, don't you? And you want to help people, with your healing. As far as I'm concerned, that's going above and beyond. If you don't want to fight, I would say that's for the best." He nodded. "I think you could change their perception if you tried to. Just remember, it's important as a princess to be able to handle criticism. It's important to consider the criticism, but not to let it haunt you. And don't let it change you for the worse. Many people have a narrow viewpoint when it comes to subjects such as this." She was exactly how she should be when it came to her viewpoint of battling as far as Ephraim was concerned. She just had to call out that he was blushing, didn't she. His heart was picking up a bit, and though many may have just dismissed it, it was counter to Ephraim's nature not to be candid. "...You're a very cute girl, Athena. When you get close to me like that, it becomes a bit difficult to think straight." He said rather forwardly. Classic Ephraim. It was perhaps because he was so clueless with women that he could say things like this so casually. Depending on how playful she was, she could probably use this information to her advantage. If he had said that to Alisa before she became involved with Azura, she certainly would have, because everyone knew what a menace Alisa was."Ohh, you're hot when you get all dark and scary." Yes, this was clearly the time! "Don't worry, I can handle this. I'd rather you not get your pretty little fins dirty dealing with trash like this." Raising her arm towards her bow which was on the ground a short distance away, it shot directly to her hand, as though it magnetized to it, and she caught it easily. "I have much more direct and invasive measures I can use." She said, her hand sparkling with magical energy to emphasize her point."There's no need." A man's voice called their attention, and a flowing red cloak preceded the appearance of a very... vampireishly-dressed man. The dark and broodish appearance of this man was contrasted rather sharply by the weird cat creature on his shoulder. "They work for Shinra.""Warn me when you're gonna move around like that!" Cait Sith yelled angrily in Vincent's ear."Shinra? I thought they collapsed or something.""...They did. But we've been investigating them... Where is Cloud?""Can't you just call him on one of those cell phone things?""..." Did he really look like the sort of man to carry around a cell phone? "I'm going to find him.""Wait! You said there's no need to probe his memory, but all you know is they work for Shinra? They targeted us for a reason.""They won't know the reason. They're just tools. Nobody has seen who's giving the orders. It isn't unintentional.""Right. I'm a bit of a rat, and even I haven't seen who's in charge now.""A rat? I thought you were a cat.""I mean, a mole! You know!""A mole...? That's even less like a cat.""Never mind! Do no off-worlders know basic expressions...?!""Heh, I irritated the weird cat-rat-mole creature." Alisa really just enjoyed getting on everyone's nerves, didn't she. (( OOC: ))
