"I messed up...I messed up so bad.." She didn't have time to cry over her horrible mistake, but the disappointment and horror in her voice was pretty obvious. She knew the fault was all hers. She also knew she had to stop it as quickly as possible, before someone actually did get killed. She wasn't exactly a fighter with crazy skills, her only skills were her intelligence, that wouldn't exactly help her in this situation but she had to make it to the the room the teleporter was. There were still those creatures hunting through the halls, who knew exactly where they were? It really was like some kind of nightmareish movie! At any moment, one, or two could come rushing out from anywhere, with all the halls and rooms of the massive mansion, they had a LOT of roaming room. She just had to be faster then them! Taking a breath, she took a second to prepare herself, it wasn't the brightest plan she could come up with, but she also didn't have the time to think of a real good one right now! She slowly, quietly opened her door just enough so she could squeeze her way through, while in the distance, she could see another one of the creatures halfways in the doorway of another room, as though it JUST broke through. "..H-Hey....Ugly.....This way! " So much for being quiet...or her already terrible plan. Banging on the door, the attention of the monster was quickly turned to her. "Oh god...This was such a bad idea..! " She didn't even know how fast they were, and without really thinking further into things, she ran...right down the staircase with one hungry creature very close behind her!
There was a good amount of destruction in her wake, as she knocked down anything in her path to slow down the one chasing her till she made it to the room, somehow alive..but for how long? It was the obvious source of their appearances, as the entire room...was filled with them. Hiyori would come to realize how bad this situation was for her, as the one behind her would keep her from going anywhere else, while the others in the room...were all focused on her. She had no where to go but make that run for the portal, and so she did...
[[ooc: Starting to get bored of this sad attempt at liveliness. I'm going to start getting lazy and end it..She makes it to the portal.. ]]

"FA-FREEZE! " Lily's overly energetic voice was enough to wake the dead, but it probably had little affect to bring fear into those monsters little hearts. They probably didn't understand her noisy mouth, but what they would feel, was suddenly so cold that they could no longer move! With the good cluster of creatures so close together, she just managed to freeze all of them in one giant group. "..Oh, heh heh....You creepies crashed my sleep. Now i'm going to make you crash! BOOM!" She was getting herself carried away with looking SO cool, how could she stop herself now? Before the ice would wear off, she was already in wolf form, which she put enough distance from herself and the frozen monsters, before charging for one set. Lily's plans were never good for anything still standing, like say, a wall, or furniture for that matter. As the wolf charged, she leapt up, doing a spin in midair, only to use her back legs strength to swift kick the pair right into the wall, shattering them into pieces! Due to them all being connected by the ice, it would create a sort of domino affect, sending that whole group crashing into anything in their way, which was likely a lot more wall and furniture!

___ ___ _________ ___ ___ "I know I must place my duty as a commander above my life as a man. And once I am crowned, I most certainly will do exactly that. However, I am not ready to divorce myself from my compassion just yet. I will find the balance somehow, the means to save my country and her people. That is the king I wish to become, and so that is the man I must be." The poor unfortunate ones in this scenario were surprisingly the monsters that were wholly unprepared for Siegmund, and the strength of the man wielding it. The sacred spear of Renais was terrifyingly powerful on its own, but when it struck a monster or demon, it dealt even more ludicrous damage, multiplying the strength of the strike. And given how strong Ephraim was, most monsters he faced with the weapon went down in a single strike. And that was particularly powerful foes. These comparatively lesser beasts stood little chance. It was almost comedic, watching Ephraim practically killing them like flies with a fly swatter, leaving corpses strewn in his wake as he carved a path of death. The beasts looked much less intimidating when they were being murdered en masse like this. Thrusting his spear into another beast, it instantly went completely limp, losing all the life it had moments before, and he ripped the spear right back out a moment later. "...Ah." He came to a stop as he ran into Sephriea and the two with her. It was a little ridiculous to see the amount of corpses behind Ephraim that he had created on his path here. "I'm glad to see you doing better." He said directed at Sephriea. He didn't know if she would even remember him, but he still remembered fighting her while she had been mind-controlled by the "Mastermind," keeping her busy until Alisa and Yuffie managed to free her. "Stay safe, you three--I'm going to slaughter more of these blasted beasts. You can stay at my side if you would prefer." Ephraim might end up with the highest kill count of these hordes at this rate... It actually seemed like anytime a beast began to get close to the four, it would see Ephraim, and turn away to run. It seemed like the monsters may have actually grown fearful of Ephraim and the sacred weapon he held... Not that they could probably be blamed, given the amount he had already slain.Meanwhile, a lot of the beasts on the outside trying to go towards Midgar would find themselves struck down by arrows raining down from the sky. Claude sat calmly on his wyvern as he stayed above the crowd, firing Failnaught down upon many of the monsters that tried to get towards the city. "Like fish in a barrel, just these would probably be less appealing to Flayn..." Claude muttered to himself as he continued to smite the probably very confused creatures who may have believed the heavens were raining death upon them. Being a flier who shot arrows, Claude really wasn't one to fight fair, was he? (( OOC: ))

Tifa couldn't help herself, as past memories came to her mind, she couldn't resist making this bad situation...a little more entertaining. With Aerith at her side, she motioned for her to wait for her signal as she grabbed the attention of one of the loan creatures that ventured into another area of the mansion. "Ready, Aerith? " Tifa positioned herself directly in front of the beast, just as it lunged for her. It would not succeed in sinking it's teeth into her as it wanted, as Tifa's fists came into contact with a swift upper punch below the bottom of it's mouth. "Now! " That's where Aerith came in, using her fighting staff to come crashing down over it's head, and knocking it out! Aerith wasn't very strong, but when it came to her and that staff, it was pretty amazing what she could do sometimes! "We did it again! " Tifa said, laughing as she put up her hands into the air. "We did! " Aerith giggled softly, raising her hands to give Tifa a very similar high-five as they once did in the past during another battle. "I don't feel so bad this time.." It wasn't human, like the men she had to smack down with that chair, but a monster. "He,he...Should I go find a spare chair? " How were they joking at a time like this? The mess in the mansion wasn't exactly small! Meanwhile, Sephriea fell silent as Ephraim found his way to her small group, she had been living here a good while now, and while she got to know everyone from a distance, she also opened up since then. Though not quite in the way everyone may of hoped for, as she learned about herself and many other unfortunate things connected to her, her once quiet, shy attitude developed into a even more distant one.She mostly kept to herself, only really in her room for sleep, and mostly gone for the rest of the day. She was never very social, and it didn't seem like that would change much. "...Okay..me too. " Rinoa could handle herself and protect Teresa too, she didn't feel like baby-sitting while there were still more of the creatures roaming the halls of the mansion. ".." Teresa on the other hand, rushed past Rinoa without a seconds thought, hurrying so that she could stay close behind Ephraim, amusingly close enough that she practically bumped into him. He might not have an easy time fighting with her so close to him now! Poor Rinoa. "...Hey?! I'm just as safe to be around as him..I'm so insulted right now! No one trusts me! " It did seem like no one felt safe around her, as if she couldn't be trusted in a battle. Gosh, were they ever wrong!

However, I am not ready to divorce myself from my compassion just yet. I will find the balance somehow, the means to save my country and her people. That is the king I wish to become, and so that is the man I must be." Ephraim nodded in response to Sephriea. For a so-called weapon who Cosmos felt so certain must be destroyed, she seemed to be mentally growing into a well-meaning young woman, which he was glad for. ...He didn't know if that meant Cosmos would cease in her intent, but if she tried to hurt her again, he would be here. He would do what he could to prevent her. Even though he was aware that his previous victory over her could have been complete luck, he would just have to do what he could to repeat it. ...He had to get stronger. He grunted in slight surprise as the pink-haired one so quickly hurried to his side. Well... that was flattering in a way, but he couldn't help but feel a bit responsible for Rinoa's irritation. Still... what was he to say? One could almost see the sweatdrop on his head. Ephraim was a tad socially awkward. Should he... reassure her? "Er... I'm certain you're very capable. I hold your magic in... high regard." ...He had never actually SEEN her use magic, he just had heard she was known as a Sorceress. His remark may or may not have felt a bit forced, which depending on if Rinoa could pick up on it, might just make the situation worse. Poor Rinoa. Ephraim tended to speak candidly, so he wasn't exactly the best at empty reassurance. If he had seen her display powerful magic, though, it would be much easier for him. His attention shifted elsewhere, though, as the distinct roars of the beasts caught his attention, as a small group charged from behind. Quickly positioning himself in front of Teresa, using his arm to nudge her behind him, he gripped Siegmund with both his hands, twirling the spear expertly to smack the small group of two with the bottom of the spear, knocking them off-course and forcing them to slam down into the ground. Wasting no time, Ephraim delivered a harsh kick, pushing one on top of the other, which he held down with his boot as he raised his spear and thrust it straight down--skewering both together. They immediately stopped moving, as one might expect, given the pile of corpses he had already made. Using his boot on the corpse as leverage, he ripped the spear right back out of both, twirling it once idly after he did. He really liked spinning that thing, didn't he? Turning back to Teresa now, he gave her a look of concern. "Are you all right?" He assumed she was physically fine, but she seemed a bit scared right now."Oh boy..." Kaden, who had just arrived at the scene to see what just transpired, sighed slightly. "You need to be careful with that one, Ephraim. Try to be less... heroic..." Kaden knew probably better than anyone else what Teresa... liked, given he had read those sorts of stories to her at bedtime for a very long time. ...Probably longer than most people got to have people read to them at bedtime."...What?" The confusion was plain to see on Ephraim's features. He hardly considered himself any sort of heroic, needless to say. Poor Teresa. Kaden must have seen her as a schoolgirl with a crush anytime any even slightly knightly-guy did anything that resembled rescuing her! ...Though, was he wrong? (( OOC: ))

"...Thank you..At least ONE person around here doesn't look down on me. " Rinoa's mind was also all over the place, so much so that she didn't so easily pick up how awkward Ephraim really seemed to be as he spoke with her. She didn't exactly know him all that well still, strange given that she was so social! There were just some people she couldn't easily approach, like royalty, such as himself. What even would she say to start a conversation? He might not want to be bothered at any other time. "!" Those terrifying roars from behind her and Ephraim came so suddenly and unexpectedly, the only thing she could think to do was hide again. ....only this time, it would be Ephraim to suffer as he would feel his cape lift up a bit, and the most awkward presence of the silly princess hiding in his cape. Yes, she was one hundred percent safe like that! He may not of been able to move her out of the way, considering the positioning and cape blocking her path, had he even tried to pull her out. Due to her being much shorter then him, though, it didn't completely hinder his own movements to attack the beasts as swiftly as he did, and Teresa, with her head peeking out a bit from under the cape was able to witness all of it as she peered out a little more. She never really got to see him in action when it came to fighting, maybe a few training sessions but not a actual battle. What she saw today, was completely amazing to her eyes.In only seconds, the beasts were lifeless, following the many others she started to notice around them all with impalements like the two he just destroyed. "....You're amazing..! " She finally said, lowering the cape now so she was kind of holding it around her shoulders now, but still mostly hidden! "...Can I stay with you until they are all gone? " "...Kaden.." She gave him a little glare, all the while her face lit up. She didn't possess the ability to be fully angry, it seemed! "..Be quiiiiiiiet! " So guilty.

Ephraim kept his focus on the foes in front of him as ever, so he didn't notice until they were felled that Teresa had... taken shelter... in his cape. ...Well, that was new. "..." He was so bewildered that it took him a moment to accept that it actually happened. ...It was rather cute, he had to internally admit. Still, he wondered if someone might get the wrong idea. Not that it mattered terribly, unless... well... no reason to worry about that for right now. "What...? Oh... I appreciate that. I'd like to think I'm capable enough, though I know I still have a long way to go." He was very strong and skilled, but Ephraim knew his own shortcomings better than anyone else, and it was hard not to focus on them. ...Still, in terms of combat ability, you'd be hard-pressed to find one more capable. "If that is what you want. I'll do what I can to keep you safe, though you might be better seeking shelter." For someone who seemed helpless, he would obviously do what he could to protect her, but he would have an easier time if he didn't need to worry about her, and she wouldn't have to worry if she was somewhere safe. Still... who knew where might be safe right now? He could understand a desire to stay with someone she deemed capable."You're so cute when you're guilty, dear sister." Kaden said with a knowing smile. Of course, it was just as he suspected. She was so easy to read. Especially for him."...Ahh, that girl is much too close to him." Reiner was peaking out from behind a corner as he watched the scene. Seeing some cute pink-haired girl all huddled in his father's cape was rather worrying to him, he had to admit. ...He was really pulling a Lily here, it seemed. Glancing over his shoulder as he heard a roar, he raised his Light Brand slightly, and light magic suddenly exploded around the beast approaching him, smiting it down. "Not right now!" His focus was really on the right thing, wasn't it. (( OOC: ))

"..Are you doubting yourself? " Teresa asked from the safety of his magical protective cape. "A long way to go..? That's silly! I think you are really amazing....There are probably lots others who would be happy to have your skills. " This was Teresa, she didn't really think far into things when it came to someone's passion for battle, and becoming stronger. This was something she would never understand, due to her inexperience of the battlefield. His next words seemed to lift her spirits further, she wasn't terribly scared as she was moments ago, and she even managed to slip herself out of his cape only to cling to his arm next! Poor Ephraim. He might never escape the innocent dreamy princess's grasp! If only the one watching them knew how innocent her intentions really were. She really was just a silly dream-induced princess, and it all was Kaden's fault for the story time moments that filled her head with such dreams. Speaking of Kaden, she decided to pretend not to hear him, as if it would magically make Ephraim not hear her brother's teases ether! "Aww. What's the matter, is someone....jealous? " The smirking young princess with the terrible attitude said as she calmly walked up to Reiner. It was as if it was a regular day, nothing at all going on. The fact that monsters were running around the mansion didn't seem to bother Rin at all. If anything, she was highly amused by the whole ordeal! "You know what they say about pink-haired girls, right? They have this ability to draw men to them with their cute, innocent act. She probably already has him under her spell already and it's to late to save him. Unless of course, you kill her. That would definitely break the spell." She was such a sweet, precious little girl!

Caius Some sort of bizarre spatial tear in the sky above the mansion was the only warning that anyone might receive before what transpired next. Not that anyone would be able to pay attention, given the situation that was already happening... Claude was the only one who noticed, having already been outside and airborne. As if things weren't bad enough, what would begin to spill forth from this tear in space would be... monsters. But not just any monsters--they were clearly demonic in nature, humanoid and scaled with blood red eyes. They carried a variety of pitch-black weaponry--scythes, blades, axes, and so on. And after the horde poured out from the tear, they would be followed by one single figure, clad in dark, descending from the sky and landing with a hard thud on his feet. Raising slowly to a standing position, the intimidating figure cast his gaze around. "...Human world." He said at last. "So the time has finally come..." One of the beasts who had been attacking before charged towards him. A pulse shot from his body, and the beast suddenly stopped in its tracks. Moments afterwards, every single beast in the city like this one would have their eyes change color to that same blood red that the demons had. And almost immediately, they began moving in tandem with the demons, working together as if they had been allies for years. Some demons even began to ride these beasts. The situation just went from manageable to much worse. "This conquest will be worth little... human lives are so petty. But it's my first step." He began to walk forward. "My first step to exacting my revenge on Eskallion and killing Nero and Cosmos..." Well, it seemed clear where this particular evil hailed from..."...Well, this is getting a bit out of hand." Claude would love to warn his allies, but he had a feeling they would learn that things had gone south much sooner than he could reach them. (( OOC: ))

Jake The portal in the sky began to close, but suddenly stopped, jerking around several times, as though retching and writhing--being forced to stay open."...?" Caius's head raised towards the portal. "...Is he still alive?"The portal was fighting desperately to try to close, making loud, horrible grinding noises, but at last it did close--but not before spitting out one last figure, who dropped through the air with purpose. "Caius!"The armored figure--Caius, it seemed--let out a small sigh of exasperation. "Have you not the decency to stay dead?" "So passionate, and so reckless." Turning, Caius slashed his blade with extreme force, throwing the newcomer so harshly with that single moment that he slammed into the outside wall of the mansion, leaving an indent. "You are a constant source of disappointment for me, Jake. Eskallion is my target--anyone else is unworthy of my time. Your job is to kill his disgusting spawns. Why else would I have a child except to have him kill his? Come now, bring me Unisha's head and I'll forgive your idiocy." "Shut the ******** up!" Jake shouted with an irritated grunt, getting back to his feet and raising his blades once more. "I'm not your damn tool! I'll decide my own fate!" Another sigh followed this grandiose pair of sentences. "Then you're useless to me. And you'll die like the rest." "Try it!" "...I think I'm missing some context here." Seemed like a pretty personal family moment to just be happening out here for anyone to see.

Serenitian senses were difficult to hide from, not that the newly arrived terrors were actually trying to hide with clear intentions of making their way into the mansion. But that may be more difficult then they thought, as Azura made her way out the door, standing a few feet from it as she focused on the demons. She was hardly one to run away in fear, she barely even looked frightened at all as she began to gather her own magic. Unfortunate for them, that they were outside. Azura couldn't use most of her abilities inside buildings, but here? This was perfect. The ground below her began to pulse of a glittering blue energy, as water began to swirl around her form several times, larger it grew, until it was almost a good twenty feet high, taking the form of a massive, wide wave. Throwing her hands forward, the wave came crashing down, flowing through the demons which enough force to disarm the lot of them, and possibly cause enough damage to their bodies that they were unable to survive. With little idea's of what they were, or what their weaknesses were, this was all she could do, for now..

Caius As Jake charged him, Caius raised an arm, sending out a pulse of ungodly intensive energy which sent him flying backwards once again, this time straight through the wall and into the living area of the mansion. Turning his attention away immediately, his eyes came upon the young woman with blue hair. A familiar face... One of the many he had monitored from his realm. Stepping forward, he vanished, reappearing shortly in front of Azura. "Princess Azura." He said, his voice distorted with a demonic overlay. "I intended to kill your father myself, but it seems I was too late. You'll have to do." She would feel her body completely seize up, as something seemed to be fighting for control. And at the same time, her throat would begin to feel like it was closing, giving her the sensation of being choked. "To see you consorting with humans... I didn't realize Serenitians wallowed in the mud with the pigs these days. How far you've all sunk. Thankfully, I've returned. Once I attain the power of the omnigod, I will steer our people right.""I don't think so!" Of course, anytime Azura was in danger, who was the first on the scene? Crashing into Caius after charging into him, Kaden... was going to prepare to continue his attack, but he realized Caius hadn't budged. "?!" Before he could move back, his throat was grabbed by the armored man. "...Ach!""Prince Kaden as well? Now I'm curious, how many royals are here? I wonder if that damn dragon's spawns are here." His grip began to tighten on Kaden's throat, alarmingly so as cracks could begin to be heard. He was going to just crush his throat, and kill him, just like that. "Goodbye.""No!" An arrow coated in light exploded right when it exited the mansion, acting as a sort of flashbang. It was enough to elicit an irritated grunt from Caius, forcing him to drop Kaden moments before ending his life. "Oh no..." Alisa was a very well-educated princess, so she was able to piece together who this was."So you know me.""..." She nocked an arrow with trembling hands, taking a small step back. "Azura, t-take Kaden and run! We can't fight him!" She was always so confident in her abilities--to have Alisa sound so terrified would probably be a good indication that this was no small threat. Unisha, for the love of the gods, RUN! Unisha, wherever she was in the mansion or in Midgar, would hear her friend's desperate voice. Caius is here! Caius intended to exact vengeance on all Serenitian royals, but none more so than Eskallion and his children. Unisha and Phoenix were in terrible danger being here. "We have to leave... we can't win...""The hell we can't," Raising the Ultima Weapon, Cloud slammed the blade against the ground, sending a Blade Beam crashing into Caius. And in response, Caius did nothing. He didn't move, and the attack didn't budge him. It didn't even seem to faze him. Well, that wasn't ideal."My turn." Caius raised his own sword, slamming the blade against the floor, sending a pitch-black wave of demonic energy speeding at Cloud, which struck him and sent him flying. From that wave, a smaller one shot out and slammed into Alisa, knocking her to the ground. "Rejoice. I am here to deliver you from your pitiful existence. And once I accomplish my goal, I will steer this universe into a better direction.""I don't recall asking for your help." Ephraim stepped up next, holding Siegmund at the ready. "Teresa, you need to get away from here." He really could not afford to try to protect her while dueling this man."Princess Teresa as well, hiding in comfort behind a mere human. Serenitian royalty has sunk so low.""A mere human... right. I've heard that before.""Of course, King Ephraim...""You know me?""I do. I pay attention to few humans, but how could I ignore one who managed to defeat a Serenitian god? I doubt you could do it twice, but even through dumb luck, that's impressive. But you'll die as easily as the rest of them.""We'll see..." Ephraim grunted as Caius stepped and appeared right in front of him, swinging his blade directly upwards. Ephraim blocked the attack, but Caius's absurd strength was easy to see as he launched Ephraim into the ceiling. "Gah!" Ephraim's back hit the ceiling, and he dropped down onto his feet. "Blast!" Caius delivered another swing, which Ephraim narrowly dodged, jabbing his spear into Caius's shoulder. ...Or so he meant to, but the scraping of metal showed that even Siegmund with Ephraim's impressive strength wasn't enough to pierce Caius's armor. That wasn't ideal."Nice try." Caius delivered a harsh punch to Ephraim's chest, sending the king flying backwards and through a wall. How many walls was Caius going to put holes in today? "Where is Unisha?" He turned to face the terrified Forest princess. "I know she's here. You're the one blocking my senses, aren't you? Would you like me to rend your pretty head from your delicate shoulders?" This situation was not going well."...Damn!" Ephraim grunted as he pushed himself back up. He really was going to need more than brute strength to win this--another situation where his tactical merit would be needed. This man seemed demonic--if he could pierce his skin with Siegmund, it would deal extreme damage. But that was easier said than done with that armor. He had to think of how to handle this--and quickly. (( OOC: ))

Since the first time she heard of the terrible stories of Caius, she had lived in fear of his return one day, Not for fear of herself but her father. She kept that fear hidden away, of course, Unisha wasn't one to bother others with her own worries. She always had the feeling somehow, someway he would escape his far away prison. And by the terrified voice of her best friends warning, it seemed today was that day. Physically, in human form Unisha's powers weren't so strong, while in her unicorn form, her power could rival the most powerful demons and Reapers by far. It was pretty incredible the power behind that horn, especially for anything demonic in nature. It may be the only thing that could actually cause sever damage to Caius, and if she could stop him, put an end to him for good, she was going to do everything she could before he could ever find her father, had he shown in this world. And so, the winged unicorn began to charge massive pure magical energy, the horn atop her head began to glow and shimmer of beautiful colors as the purifying energy gathered, her head lowering as she let her senses target exactly where he was in the mansion, before releasing the magical energy that would put even Bahamut Zero's energy beam to shame! It would course down at incredible speed, giving him little to no warning before crashing down directly over him. For him, it would be immensely painful, and considering no one had any luck actually showing him what real pain felt like, he might learn that today. The pure energy would cause deadly damage to anything demonic, and clearly, this man was exactly that. The second the impact was made, while he would be in suffering, everyone around him, and everyone outside of the mansion for miles would suddenly feel rejuvenated, completely healed from any damage that may of been done to them. Any of his demons still left would likely be killed instantly, the lessor demons didn't last long to such power.
