*Chris hustles Teddy out the door and shoves him into Karen.*
Yea, yea...she doesn't want to see me anyway.
*He headed into his bathroom to change. This was probably a huge mistake. What was he going to do? Pretend nothing is wrong? And God help him if Lisa is there.*

Hartley thought about it for a minute. Get a chance to see his work, firsthand? Yeah. A smile crept across his face.
"Sounds like a great idea, Cassie. One minute, though. I need to grab something from my room."
Sound filtered earplugs. No need for him to lose his inhibitions with the rest of the rabble.
"Give me five minutes?

*Chris opened the door and stepped out into the hall. Yea...this might be fun. He could cruise for chicks. Make out with anyone he wanted. He was a free man. Single dude. A PLAYA HAS GOT TO PLAY!

I am so glad that I kept that in my own head, Chris thought. Who was he kidding? He was gonna stand there against a wall, watch people act like fools, and not talk to anyone.*

Hartley hopped into his room and grabbed his sound filter earplugs. His bionically-enhanced ears could hear an incredible range, but they didn't make him immune from something as powerful as this sonic pulse was going to be.
He paused, and put on a fresh shirt. He was going to look GOOD while watching everyone go crazy.
"C'mon, kiddies...time to pay the Piper."
He brushed hair out of his eyes and stepped out of his room, locking his door. Within a minute, he was heading back out to Cassie.

"You seem to be in a good mood.."
They walked over to Vic's.. When they arrived Vic greeted them at the door next to him were Donnie and Julian.
" Come on in! Cassie... and Hartley?!"
" Hartley's my new boyfriend.."
Donnie and Julian responded in unison.
" YOUR WHAT??!!!"
Vic looked at Donnie and Julian..
"Now now guys... none of that here.."
" Thank you Vic.."
Cassie smiled at Vic as she walked hand in hand with Hartley into the party.
