What are you? Slow? She wants me to go to some party off campus. And then she called me a little dweeb. Why would I go to a party with someone who called me a dweeb? I don't care how busty she is!
And what's wrong nerds? Nerds are people too! Smart people. Today's nerds are tomorrow's heads of Microsoft and Apple. Then they come out with Windows Vista and it sucks and they're all like "SUCK IT, AMERICA!"

It was early in the evening still when Hartley arrived at Vic's place. Victor Stone lived in Midvale and so his house was off-campus. His parents were both scientists and they spent a lot of late nights at the lab. Vic was famous on campus for his crazy parties and his "BOOYAH" catchphrase.
It was well-known that anyone who dared to Boo a Yah on campus would soon find themselves stuffed in a locker by some members of the football team. They were very protective of Vic's Boo.
And his Yah.
Hartley looked in the window. A couple of the football team, Julian Heller and Joanna Cargill, were already there, setting up a keg in the living room.
Assholes.
Vic's parents were pretty well-set, it looked like. There was expensive paintings on the walls and the electronics were all state of the art. It would be a great place for a robbery, but that's not what Hartley was here for. He tried the front door. It was open, so he slipped inside.
"I invited the cheerleading squad and the basketball players. It's going to be awesome."
"I heard that Sandsmark and Powell broke up, so if she shows up, I'm making my move, yow yow!"
Julian was bragging to Joanna. Hartley slipped into what was the study. Victor was just walking out the other door into the kitchen, shouting at the other football players if there were enough chips.
Hartley took the opportunity to slip in. It was a nice stereo system, and he could see that it was wireless, with speakers in every room of the house.
Perfect.
Hartley pulled out a little device of his own, that plugged into the bottom of the iPod that was going to be providing the music for the party tonight. Something of his own design...a sonic pulse generator that was going to change the sound of the music...and implant a subconscious desire in everyone who heard it.
A desire to lose self-control.
Yeah. Tonight's party was going to be interesting. Hartley slipped out of the room and back out the front door just as Victor came in and turned on the stereo.
"Have fun, jackasses."
Hartley headed back to campus.

Cassie saw Hartley as he was just coming back on to the campus..
" Hey Hartley! If it's not to much I would like to ask you a favor... and I would like totally owe big time!"
Sure Hartley didn't exactely fit in with the football players... but even more reason to bring him. It totally drive Donnie insane to think she refused him for Hartley.

Walking back onto campus, Hartley passed a group of the cheerleaders heading off to Vic's. He heard them whispering to each other as he walked by.
"Pasta-boy-"
"Didn't recognize him without red sauce on his head-"
"Guess he learned that there's always room for Jell-o-"
Hart gritted his teeth and marched past them. Have fun tonight, he told them in his head. Enjoy losing control. I wonder how many of you will wind up in the drunk tank.
He was about to turn into the dorm when he was accosted by Cassie. It had been a while since he'd talked to her.
"Uh, hey Cassie. What's up?"

A Loud Knock came from the door. Karen was waiting tapping her foot.
"Powell I KNOW your in there! I have X-ray vision! Change your underwear, get dressed and come to this party!"
... "Cassie is going to be there..." She added as an after thought.

*A voice came form the shadows. It was menacing yet strangely calm and gentle at the same time. His head was hiding in shadows but his large frame , covered in a white business suit was seen. His hands clasped in front of him, he spoke*
"You see if you move too much, you could stir the weights beneath your slab. And when that happens. Your young, beautiful friend gets a painful awakening."
He sounded almost concerned as he said the words, as if he really meant no harm to come to them at all.

" So here's the thing... Kori told me that Vic is having a party tonight. I'm not too interested in going but she did make a good point that I've been so stuck in my own Cassie/Chris world when I was dating him that I didn't pay any attention to my friends.. In many ways I think she's right I really haven't been there for Wally, Achilles, Dani, or even you...For that I'm truly sorry. Anyways if I go to this party that douchebag Donnie is going to be hitting on me all night. If I don't go the cheerleading squad is basically going to disown me. So I was hoping you would go with me and pretend to be my boyfriend... mostly just to piss Donnie off.. Please... "
Cassie gave Hartley the sad puppy dog face. She knew he was gay.. but the football team didn't... and would soooo piss Donnie off.
