Kira shivered and pulled the robe around herself as she slept. Every now and then an ear would twitch softly and her tail would rub lightly against the sand. She whimpered quietly and rolled over, facing Shadow, to allow the wings to stretch out. Her whimpering grew slightly louder and her hand found her mouth, stifling her cries. Suddenly her whole body jumped as her eyes flashed wide, glowing a pure blue and she bit her finger to keep from yelling out. She wiped her face of the cold sweat she had broken out in and turned towards Shadow, hoping she hadn't disturbed him. She kissed his cheek softly and closed her eyes again to get rid of the remnants of her dream, her head on his shoulder as she lay on her side in the sand. She lay there half asleep, still trying to calm herself.

Shadow smiled softly as he felt Kira kiss him in his sleep. His ears twiched as she leaned in close to him and he sniffed. She was afraid. He could smell it even in his sleep. His brain told him something had scared her. So he opened his eyes and looked at her. She seemed asleep but with closer inspection, he could tell that she was only partly asleep.
"Is every thing alright?" he whispered to her as he wrapped the robe around her more snuggly. He then kissed her cheek lightly as he dimissed the thought and decided to let her sleep. He would stay up and make sure she was able to get the rest she needed. He could sleep later. He didn't really need it at the moment. It gave him more time to think about Winter and the others........and what he would do about the 95k job he had been offered.
It had been sent to him through telepathy. The person never said their name, but gave him a spot to meet them. They had offered him 95k to assain a bussiness partner of theirs. But he didn't feel right taking the job so he never gave them his answer. But now that he thought about it, the life of someone was worth much more then money could ever pay. He would never take another job that involved killing again. He was givin up that life for one of happiness with the woman of his dreams.

"Just... A dream..." Kira sighed, wiping her closed eyes. She peeked one open, catching sight of the moon and they swirled silver. She smiled at the comfort it gave her and relaxed more as Shadow kissed her. She fell back asleep but few minutes later she sat up restlessly, propping herself up with her elbows and blinking, looking around in a slight daze.

Shadow smiled at her as he listened to her voice. He nodded an dthen looked across the lake. He had made up his mind about the job, and all others to follow for that matter. So, why did he feel so bad? He themn shook his head and looked at Kira as she sat up. "Refreshed now?" he asked in a sweet voice.

Kira jumped and then turned around, smiling as she remembered where she was. She nodded, laughing. "Yes, what about you?" She asked, cocking her head to the side.

Shadow smiled as he looked at her and shrugged. "I hav ebetter, but I'm ok. It gave me some time to do some thinking and make some choices that needed to be made. I gave up alot of things that needed to be given up. I've started a new life as of an hour or two ago." he said with a smile.

Kira looked at him slowly and nodded. "Is it a life you're sure about switching to?" She asked slowly, scooting forward to sit in front of him. She pulled her knees up to her chest and watched him curiously, her ear twitching for an answer.

He nodded as he looked her in the eyes. "Yes. The life that I used to live is full of hate and revenge. I used to be known for something I am not proud of and never really was. The life I have chosen is much better. I no longer feel like I have to live up to a name that was never really mine." he said as he looked out across the lake with a far off gaze.

Kira paused and watched him quietly, unsure of what to say. Slowly she leaned forward and hugged him warmly. "It's alright." She said quietly. "And I'll stop moping about my past, or at least tone it down a bit." She laughed softly, her tail swishing behind her.

He shok his head and laughed, "No no, I don't mind about that. It's fine. You have a right to feel the way you do." he said a she hugged her back gentle. "My feelings hurt because of things I did in the past that I didn't have to, I made the choice to do them and I now realized just how stupid I was being.

Kira cocked her head and laughed a bit. "You sure? Ok then..." She smiled lightly at him. "Meh, it's alright. Things will work out from now on, I know it!" She said optimistically. She leaned back, stretching out after her nap and sighed, getting up to stretch out her legs. She quickly plopped back down and dragged her finger along the sand, tracing random lines with her claw.

Shadow smiled as he watched Kira. He had had never thought that something this good could have ver happened to him after all of the pain he had caused to others. But now that he was living it, he realized just how forgiving the world could be.

Kira leaned back, surveying the drawing she had traced in the sand. With a small smile she reached out and swished it away with her tail. Her ear twitched and she turned to see Shadow watching. She smiled and crawled over, sitting in front of him quietly.

Shadow smiled at her as he saw Kira crawl over to him. "You seem extremely happy." he said quietly as her. His eyes had a far off look to them as he thought about how to tell Kira what he used to be, He had to. Even if he had given up that life, he owed it to her, he just didn't kno whow to do it.

Kira shrugged and smiled big, showing her fangs. She cocked her head, tail wagging. "Maybe, I don't know." She laughed. Kira paused, watching Shadow's eyes. "Is.. something wrong?" She asked slowly.
