Gion was growing impatient with the elf, and he turned to Nadya and signed for her to explain what she thought was necessary to him. To be frank, he didn't much care what she told him, as long as she didn't let slip that their companions were not elves - but he trusted her, he knew that she wouldn't.
Then he folded his arms across his bare chest and waited to see what would happen.

Nadya nodded to Gion, then waited a moment to collect her thoughts before replying to the Westland Captain.
"It has come to Her Majesty's attention," she murmured, staring off into the distance rather than looking at the elf, her Sight taking over for her, "that there may be some unresolved issues with the dwarfs - in particular, with those who have taken upon themselves the role of leadership in their new home. We have been sent to investigate this. If you have any information that may be helpful, it would be much appreciated."
Of course, she really wasn't telling him anything - but it seemed as though she was, and that was the main issue. Besides, asking for information in general was often more helpful than asking for specific information, because it was usually the small, seemingly unrelated incidents, that proved to be the key to a matter.

Elrohir reached up with one hand and pried the girl's hands off his head.
"Just sit," he told her flatly without looking at her, and therefore missing the look on her face. "If you need to hold something for balance, hold my robes, not my head."
He started up the path towards the stairs that were barely in sight. He could see them however, the steep, thin steps that went nearly straight up the mountain for more than a mile. He sighed again. This was one climb he was not looking forward to.

Lin took a hold of Elrohir's robes, but really she didn't need help to keep balance, she just thought of him as her favourite person at the moment, even though technically she just tricked him into taking her. Still, the girl was happy as a clam.

The Captain remained thoughtfully silent for a long time, his eyes shifting from one member of the party to the next, his stare piercing and inquisitive. Something about the group bothered him, but he couldn't put his finger on what it was, so he really had no reason to stop them ...
"Very well," he nodded finally, looking as surly as ever. "You may proceed on the condition that whatever you find, you report upon your departure."
He stepped to the side and his three subordinates did the same, allowing the group to pass between the two towers and into the exiles' land.

Nadya's eyes grew focused once more as her Sight rested for a bit, and she put one hand behind Mia's back once more and gave her a small encouraging push to get her started again. Then she reached out and clasped Gion's hand in her own, seeking reassurance and strength. Not for the first time, she wished she had been better prepared for the journey.
"Thank you," she murmured to the Captain as she passed by him.

Gion gripped Nadya's hand firmly and walked confidently next to her, on the opposite side from Mia so that Nadya was safely between them. He beckoned over his shoulder for the others to follow them quickly. He wasn't fond of these soldiers. They had likely been up here a long time, and their own sense of morality was likely lower than most soldiers' was. They didn't need to lose anything to them.

Elrohir reached the steps and started the long, steep climb. He was so tired that he didn't think to take off his travel bag or bow, and going up the stairs was more difficult than it usually was.
"Why did he leave you behind, anyways?" he grunted, muscles aching as he climbed.

"I never get up early enough," Lin replied.
Which was half a lie, it was true that if she had gotten up early enough, she could have caught him, but she hadn't managed it yet. Though one had to wonder, as Lin did know the reason why (but she would never get in the way she would have aruged), why he hadn't thought of why she wasn't allowed up there.
Yue was grateful to get through, though he doubted they oculd talk until they were far away enough from teh guards. They struck him not queite right, but he watched Donovan to see if the other man picked anything up.

Donovan watched the guards wearily from under his cloak, he didn't like the looks of it. It wasn't that they were lax (though he supposed in some aspects they might be), but rather they seemed a bit... hard edged. They were not going to share information willingly and they seemed the type to take offense.
They better not have more problems on top of the ones that they were trying ot take care of.

Once they were past the towers, Gion turned to the others and signed, We should be arriving there shortly past dark tonight ... I'm not sure if it will be safe to have a fire.
He knew the cold would be insufferable without a fire, but if they wanted to remain hidden ...
Tomorrow, he went on, we should be able to find out something.

"Well then," Elrohir muttered, "good luck with trying to catch him in the mornings. That kid gets up earlier than anyone I know."
He made the others all look like sleepyheads, even though they were all up before daylight.

Lin smiled, as long as she knew where the mountain was, she would find otherways, besides, this would be the only time she thought anyone would carry her up the mountain like this.
"I'll remember that," she told Elrohir.
"Well," Yue mused, "If all else fails, we'll have to find otherways to keep warm."
Not that it was a problem for him, and he suspected not for Mia as well, but for Triton and Donovan it might be. Thoguh Donovan it would be hard to tell.

"Good," Elrohir grunted, shifting his pack on his back to make the climb slightly easier for him. "Because I'm not going to be taking you up here again."
Yes, he was getting quite irritible.

"Okay," Lin replied back, as she hugged him briefly before letting him walk some more.
She knew he wouldn't do so again, though he seemed like he needed a nap.
