"Don't be too long." The Halfling waved the kid off before he smiled even more. He offered that amount of money because the thing in that bag was of great importance. Such an importance that he needed to give someone good incentive to deliver it. He was just happy the guy didn't ask for more. He was a merchant, and merchants loved making money more than giving it, unless it was of good investment.

The standing guards were dwarven, as much of the city was owned by them. They looked at the guy as he presented the card and let him proceed. This part of the marketplace was a lot nicer than the other part. With more flashy signs and more exotic displays of animals and items, it was more of the expensive part of Tyr Donian. It was also the market with little more leeway. While the main marketplace out there had laws to abide by, in here, money talked. You could sell just about anything, other than the extreme stuff, such as slaves and anything else derogatory. However, that didn't mean there wasn't a adult stand or two present.

His client was waiting at the designated place should Anson decide to go there. He was waiting at the stand, the red Kobold fashioned in some pretty colorful green blue clothing, wearing some feathers on his head from the headband wrapped around his head. Despite his looks, his eyes showed one who didn't take anything from anyone. Grumpy looking and very little patience for anything not worth his time. His shop sold foreign objects, from hanging necklaces made of teeth and bone to shiny silver ornaments of many kinds.

Jascen's expression hardened, his full lush lips curling into a cruel sardonic smile. The naked man wanted to tussle with him? That was fine, seeing as it would give Jascen the opportunity to man handle the fine piece of flesh that this old soul had decided to trap itself in.

It was a mystery to him as to why he would remain in this world if he was all alone, and all the foes that he'd fought before had clearly been vanquished as evidenced by his repulsion over the bones that he careless walked over on his way for this cave.

Had he needed shelter? The arrogant stance that he'd taken told Jascen that perhaps it was a trap that he'd been lured in with his general preference for men over women, though he had seduced both for a meal to last. He stopped short of killing them, preferring to leave them with that heady near death experience that often was mistaken for the euphoric bliss of the afterglow following a good intimate encounter.

"The name is Jascen." he said in a flat, yet forceful tone.

"I don't have your memories, but I think I might know someone that would be able to help. Mind your manners and she'll tolerate you, threaten her and you'll end up with your balls in a jar as a trophy."

Jascen left it up to his imagination as to whether or not it would be Jascen, or his contact that would remove his testicles. The general feeling was that a man without balls lacked the testosterone to be fully aggressive in a masculine way.

Jascen knew differently, but let him guard his manhood if he valued it to the point of swinging manically from high/friendly, to low/threatening. Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde anyone?

"Sir Jera, I assume?"

Anson had allowed his eyes to wander from one stall to the other once he had entered the more lavish section of the Tyr Donian marketplace but he had kept the rest of him from doing the same. He only had a few minutes to spare if he wanted to be back on time and for three hundred gold pieces he would forgo browsing the wares and get right down to business. The young Paladin hadn't expected to see a kobold so finely dressed, but his own experience out in the world was very limited and he had learned well the lesson that things are not always what one expects them to be.

Approaching the stand where the red kobold waited, the boy greeted him properly, bowed respectfully, and got down to business.

"I have a parcel for you from a halfling." He spoke clearly, but not so loudly that he would draw attention from others. He did not remove the bag from his shoulder however, though he had been instructed to give it to this person and did not want to tarry much longer he just wanted to be sure that everything was square before completing the delivery. "Have you been expecting it?"

Nodding at his request and making a mental note to check later and see if Reyin become either a knight or a hero, Lu relaxed at his lighthearted demeanor and clueless reply. He was as in the dark as she!

"That could be a possibility." She said in agreement, hiding her small joy that she wasn't the only one who didn't know.

"So... Should we just simply wait here? Maybe we should ask one of the vendors if they know him..." It seemed a waste of time to just simply wait for the next train to come by and hope they'd find their wayward employer. But that was just her innocent opinion.

The kobold's attention was grabbed upon being talked to. He watched as the boy greeted himself. He wasn't the happiest looking person, but he honored the greeting with a nod of his own head. But when he spoke about the Halfling, Jera chuckled.

"You must a delivery boy from Sanchez, eh,"
said the kobold. His voice was scratchy and deep. "Heh, never thought he would get another person this fast after what happened last time."

He extended his right hand out, as if waiting for something to be dropped in it.

"The package."

Anson nodded his head in response to what Jera had said, having not heard anything about this before but not letting it sway him. "Lucky for him, I don't scare easily."

He slipped the straps of his duffel bag off of his shoulder and unzipped it halfway, just far enough so that he could pull out the small bag that had been given to him by the halfling and turn it over to the kobold.

"Lucky for you, too."

Picking up the purse, Minion was perplexed by the metal inside of the bag. While, no doubt it was currency of some kind, if the more pressing matter was if the bag would hold water or not. Looking around, the occasional person bumped into him and gave their curt reply's, which was very kind of them. Maybe he could go find a river, or even better an ocean....

No, wait, oceans tend not to have fresh water, a stream then.... Don't forget that we are here for a job, and since someone was bound to have lost that bag, we could just hold onto it and return it to the owner.

The head, rose and fell a few times, nodding in agreement before starting the task of trying to figure out which way was out, and or if he could find water somewhere. Searching for it in a cave was different than in a modern area or a desert. At least, that's what he concluded.

The kid had a mouth, but Jera didn't care. As long as he had his delivery, he could care less. He took the bag into his possession. Untyping the tiny string around the top, he opened it and looked inside, giving it a sniff. Obviously, the Halfling had lied about opening the bag. The kobold sniffed it a few more times then chuckled.

"Hold on."

He turned around, disappearing through a curtain to the back of his shop. Moments later, he came back out, handing over a purple small pouch. This one was a little weighty, but it felt like it had a single clump of something inside rather than fine contents.

"Tell Sanchez as long as he keeps the goods coming, we'll keep a steady business together."

-----------------------------------

As Minion walked, he would coincidentally see a stand that was selling a variety of bottled beverages. Whether he could read or not, one of the stack of bottles had a clear liquid inside it, which said "Water" on the front of them. Maybe he could make use of the money he had after all. Or maybe just keep to his morals and return the pouch to its owner.

(( Fast one before bed. ))

Obviously the halfling had lied about opening the bag... but that was something that Anson had expected out of him from the start. If the contents really were sensitive to the air it wouldn't make sense to keep them loosely in a bag, they would be wrapped tightly in a packed and sealed container. That was partly why Anson had never asked what it was he would be delivering - as long as he didn't know, he could raise no objections. It was a very roundabout way of avoiding moral conflict, but nonetheless the boy managed to placate himself with the thought that if it looked like a duck, quacked like a duck, and laid duck eggs, there was still the possibility that it was a cat.

"I'll be sure to let him know that. And that his package arrived safely as well." Anson answered the kobold respectfully, as he always did when speaking formally. He took the purple pouch and put it away where the other package had been; zipping up the bag and slinging it over his left shoulder again before taking up his sword that had been propped against the kobold's stand.

"Is there anything else, Sir Jera?" he asked. Perhaps the merchant had a final request he'd like to make, or a few parting words, or even something else he wanted taken back to the halfling. Or perhaps the young Paladin was merely asking to be polite.

"Then I must be heading back. As a thanks for your patronage I have a gift - one last thing before I go..."

The boy turned his wrist, pulling at the small chain wrapped around his left arm with his fingers and pulling the four-pointed star at the end of it into his left hand before raising it first to his heart, then to his forehead, and then out in front of him; dangling above the kobold's counter by the chain in his hand. The silver medallion dangled there for a second or two, drifting slowly clockwise as it caught flickers of light all around them and sent bright reflections dancing upon the merchant's brightly colored clothing.

"Eternal Light be your guide and aid you to walk the right path," he said calmly in a soft but stern voice, "may you be rewarded in this life and the next... everything you deserve."

With a bow of his head, the boy turned around and left the Exotic district through the same archway he had entered by. He had a message to deliver to the halfling and a payment to collect from him, and if he hurried he just might make it to the station before the train arrived.

Minion was delighted to see some water, and it already in a contain of sorts. Eagerly he began to trot over to the stand, except that a few pairs of legs hampered his process and forced him to make a strategic retreat in order to get around the group that was chatting at a near by stall.

Approaching the stall minion reached out to grab one of the bottles of water then remember that he couldn't just take them, and let his hand hover close above them before he withdrew it and, looked to see if there was a merchant there. If he had been any shorter, he would have been able to stand by the stall and act like a talking head. Luckily he was not that stunted and managed to keep his chest above the stall counter.

"'scuse me, is any one there?"

The make shift strapping was beginning to rub, and that might create problems later if he needed to remove them at all. The pressure loss might cause him to bleed out, that was an extreme scenario though and hopefully wouldn't happen. In his left hand he held the purse tightly and moved it a little, causing it to jingle.

((Editing for Minion...))

"..."

Jera just raised a brow as the kid performed his prayer. Jera wasn't a fan of religion, so seeing someone do that was agitating him thoroughly. Just when he was thinking about tipping the kid, too. Looks like that was extra money he wasn't getting. The kobold merely frowned as the kid walked off.

----------------------------------------------

As Anson traveled back toward the Halfling, the next train had just pulled up. Smoke rose from its top as the whistle blew through the air, followed by the exiting of its passengers. Two coach men were carrying out a pretty large steel contained, then placing it on the landing platform. Following after them came a man wearing leather armor with spiked shoulder pads, along with wearing a few pouches and bags over his body as if he was about to go on a expedition.

"Just keep it right there. Thank you,"
he said to the coachmen, giving them each a few coins for their trouble. When they left, he simply stood there, taking out a notepad and writing onto it. The group should recognize him as Share Heathers.

----------------------------------------------

"Yes," said a rather bright voice to Minion as he asked for assistance. It was a dwarf, though unlike other dwarves, his beard was rather small. Small that it could be considered just a mustache upon his lips. It was rather curvy, the unique appearance matched only by his lively clothes of red and yellow.

"What can I help you with there? See anything you like?"

To the halfling! Huzzah!

Dot dot dot.

And so he came to the halfling to get his money. Mission complete and all that. Victory fanfare plays. Quest exp awarded. Fireworks in the background. Only that none of that actually happened and instead it was just the boy walking up to the halfling's stall ten minutes after he had left it.

"Sir Sanchez?"

The Halfling rose up from beneath the counter.

"You're back. Looks like you didn't have trouble finding him. Then again, he isn't hard to see with that red skin of his. So, did he give you anything in return?"
PostPosted: Tue Apr 20, 2010 3:31 pm

"One item," answered the boy with honesty. "Though you never said anything about receiving payment as part of the errand so I assumed it was the tip you mentioned."

Not removing the bag from his shoulder, Anson stood by patiently with one hand on his bag's straps and the other on his sword's scabbard, properly delivering a report. Though he was young, as a Paladin he had been brought up to conduct himself seriously in his duties and this would be on exception.

"Sir Jera said to tell you that he is eager to continue working with you as long as things continue to go smoothly... Or at least that's what I understood it as."

"If there is nothing else, I have somewhere I need to be so I'll take the gold that we agreed on and be on my way."

The Halfling rubbed his hands together like a greedy little guy.

"May I see this item? I'll give you your pay and send you on your way as you please."

The kid probably knew that whatever business was happening between them was a curiosity, but he was doing well in "If I didn't see it, it didn't happen."
