Change can be a great and marvelous thing! I mean look how far we've come since the old days of NES and Atari! Or look how awesome anime has become, as well as how available and cheap! Look how much more awesome computers have become!

Communication in general has grown beyond all measure, which is quite nice...
It's funny how, in the past, it seems that their vision of the future hinged mainly on developments in transportation - flying cars, transporters, spaceships, etc... It was probably due to the fact that, at the time, transportation was growing by leaps and bounds - trains, cars, planes, even rockets...it just made sense at the time that the trend would continue, I guess...
But eventually that came to a halt, and the real progress moved to the fields of information and communication (both tied closely together)...could you imagine what a hassle it used to be, if you were out shopping around town, and you couldn't remember if someone you were getting food for was allergic to something? What do you do? Just buy it and hope? Or go through the hassle of digging through your pockets for a dime, tracking down a dirty payphone, calling home and hoping someone was there to answer ('cause, back in the day, you wouldn't have an answering machine)? Change is awesome!
