Because it's not their lives you're living. It's yours. So if you're truly happy with it, why does their opinion matter?

The stage is set.I hate myself, I can't ever join in on a conversation, I run away from groups in fear they'll (figuratively)bite my head off if I'm around, I never really stick with anything for very long, and I'm too damn cowardly to even ask what few friends I have over just to play some games for a while. Let the battle begin!

Humans can't help but compare and judge as it is in their very nature. The trick is to learn how to deal with it and avoid situations where those vices will present themselves towards you.
And, you shouldn't hate yourself. If you hate yourself, how can you expect others to think any better of you. Confidence in who you are (regardless of who you might like to become) is what matters.
What's so frightening about asking your friends to hang with you? If they agree, then hurrah. If they don't, maybe another time.
My words may seem a tad coarse, but I mean well.

The stage is set.I know you two do mean well, but I'm afraid that they might be conspiring against me because of this one girl, and she's my best friend. I've never been socially accepted by anyone until the seventh grade so I never really had the chance to talk to anyone. Thank you for trying to help you two, and I'm glad that this is the only way(internet) we know each other. Let the battle begin!
