Things of note:
'simple' melee weapon is stated, which leads into the idea that it's aimed at barring either "really weird s**t" or super ninja "seven weapons in one". I'm sure some people would like to know a little better what the limits on that are, like if they were going to bring a double-headed axe (two heads = two weapons?). Or swordchucks (two swords = chain).
There's also no mention of whether or not (and if so, to what extent) armor is allowed. Unless we're just all being thrown into a hole half naked. Important information in case someone wanted to go sword/shield or something like that.

You're free to wear a three hundred pound full suit of armour if you want since I didnt put a rule about armour, but if someone shanks the ******** out of your joints and gaps, you aint dodging s**t, 'cause theres no superhuman attributes and weird a** logic.
As for 'simple weapons', it refers to anything without some kind mechanics which make it seven weapons in one. Basically, SURPRISE-spring-loaded blades and s**t are out. Pretty much things that can move on their own.

Also; spiked armour. Yeah, that's going to be considered a weapon. Like a spikes gauntlet is similar to a permanent punch dagger.
Or I could just abolish armour altogether to make things more fair so its more skill based rather than 'my s**t is better and you're attacks dont injure me' based.
In fact, I think I'll do that.

So no more of that "I have a spear that comes apart" s**t.
Also: I should come wearing a brick wall.
edit: Guess not.

I suppose technically, you can bring a breastplate as a 'weapon', but since you're only allowed to use one item per fight, it'll be sort of useless since it'll either serve as a single piece of armour with no weapons, or a metal plate to swing at people.

Unless you plan to do a lot of chest thumping or shield bashing.
...I want the latter. *Points to his character that uses the shield as a weapon.*

Shields are one of the most efficient and useful items ever to use in a fight.
