"Nina..." he repeated, holding her hands a little tighter, "You have my trust. I know now," Kilik gulped, "That you're truely sorry for what you did." Flareon approached the couple, sitting next to Nina's leg and running his cheek along her calf. The boy looked down for a moment at his Pokemon, then to Nina once more.
"Know that I trust you. As for Mike," he looked over his shoulder at the other trainer, "Well, it may take more time for him." He patted her hands gently and smiled.

Mike grumbled at the mention of his name, leaning up. "So much for sleep." He reached into his backpack and pulled out a small piece of scrap paper, scribbling down his PokeNav number. He pushed himself up with both hands. Walking past the little girl he dropped the paper above her head without a word, it floating down slowly. It read: Pardon the lack of personality, I'm just beat. Call me if you ever need help training or anything of the sort. I know what it's like to be new to Pokemon.
~Mike Mike picked up Napalm's Pokeball from the counter, it sitting in a tray labeled "Mike's Magby". He smiled, recalling the battle no more than ten minutes ago. The rain was still pouring down but he didn't care, he was too tired to care. Waking out the door, he released Portabello, smiling as his Pokemon was drenched in the downpour. You know, a little warning would have been lovely. The Breloom began shaking off the water in vain.He merely chuckled. "I thought it might be a nice time to brave the elements as we took a nice train ride, it's too wet for Nitro to give us a ride." Portabello nodded with a small chuckle, happy he wasn't at the mercy of the elements, just elevation. The two began making their way to the station, engaging in idle chit chat.

Nina's eyes darted around for a moment before becoming fixated on the ground. After what felt like forever, she finally replied, "...Thank you, Kilik. I appreciate that." She let go of his hands and took a half-step backwards, as she felt strangely uncomfortable.
"I, um... meant to tell you something else," she said. "I went home to visit my parents and tell them the news and whatnot... And they said that they already knew. They also went on to say that it would be most befitting if I were to... take over Sabrina's place as Saffron's Gym Leader." She let out a half-chuckle. "Me," she said, "a Gym Leader. Can you believe that?"

Kilik watched as his friend left the building with Breloom. Wonder where he's headed? he thought. His brain clicked at the words 'Gym Leader'. "Well, I think you'd make a great Leader," he said. The boy leaned against the wall, crossing his arms and looking at the ceiling. "I think it'd be great to be a Gym Leader. I always thought I'd be a nice career." His mind was suddenly filled with thoughts of him standing in front of a window gazing down into a large arena.
"I've come to claim the Earth Badge from you!" shouted a boy around the age of thirteen. He pointed at a much older Kilik, dressed in a long white jacket. The Leader looked down with a smirk. The green Earth Badge was clenched in his leather gloved fist.
"Really?" he laughed, "Well, I believe a battle is needed for that. And unlike the last Leader of this Gym," he looked around, "I don't specialize in one type. Ready?" he pointed down and snapped his fingers. A bright light illuminated the arena. He then slipped the Earth Badge into his pocket and lifted up a white and red Pokeball. "It's play time." He tossed the ball. From the white light emerged a large yellow Pokemon, with what looked like an outlet on its back. Two large cables projected from its shoulders.
Before Kilik could get a better look at this Pokemon, he was awakened from his daydream. "A Gym Leader...I'd love to be one!" he laughed, clenching his fists triumphantly.

Thankfully, both of their 'hats' made the rain alot less severe, though Portabello had a little bit of an advantage, for his 'cap' never could blow away in the wind. That being said the two had to backtrack a few times to catch the blasted thing. Portabello usually had a better time chasing it, but his lack of long arms made it a little difficult to snag it without using his mouth. Plus, Mike tripping him every time never helped.
After that little game they reached the train station, dragging in a mass amount of mud and water. The duo got a few choice looks from the other people, making a few comments of the kid and his Pokemon covered in mud. Mike and Portabello merely smiled at each other, sitting down and waiting for the train to arrive. "Time for some more company." Unclipping a Pokeball from his strap, he released Napalm. The baby Pokemon flapped his arms, a little smoke poofing out of it's beak.
Portabello patted the Magby with his tail gently, noticing the seeds and his bumps looked similar.

Nina grinned a little bit. "Yeah," she said, "I think it's going to be a bit of a challenge, especially since I'll be using Sabrina's Pokemon. I was instructed that they are not to leave the Gym, so that means I can only fight with them there." She brushed a stray strand of hair out of her face and continued to talk. "It's going to be hard at first, since I've only seen Sabrina use a couple of her Pokemon, and that was only on a couple of different occasions... I hope I'll do alright."

Kilik looked at her and shook his head. "If you don't want to run the Gym, then don't," he explained. Flareon hopped up onto his shoulder, licking his cheek playfully. "Do what you want. That's what I think," he nodded, scratching Flareon behind the ears.

((Okay I'll post once...))
The Geodude continued on and began to roll at an even faster pace increasing the power of his Rollout. Shining was hit by a point blank Slash from the Shrew who recovered rather quickly. "Okay Geodude hit one of those Eevee with your attack this time!" Jerry commanded.
"Use Helping Hand and Quick Attack on Sandshrew!" Mag ordered as the Geodude bowled over Shadow. He let out a orbs of light that surrounded Shining as she slammed into the Sandshrew. It was visibly tired and stood up after a struggle. Meanwhile the Geodude sped up even more as it rolled missed Shadow.
"Poison Sting Sanshrew! Keep up the Rollout!" Sanshrew let out the glowing white needles of poison. They flew directly at Shadow. He was hit and stopped for a moment. Luckily for Mag he wasn't poisoned. Shining redoubled her effort and used another Quick Attack to protect her brother from any more spines.
Once and for the final time the Geodude missed with his Rollout due to the previous Sand Attacks. "Come on! Okay Sandshrew use Dig! This is our only hope Geodude! Go for it!" Jerry shouted. Sandshrew dissapeared underground in a flash. Then Geodude began to glow a bright white.
"Oh crudmuffins." Mag swore as his pokemon were hit by a massive wave of fire and debris.

"I think it's time to get some more moves for you lovely Pokemon." Mike said leaning backwards in his uncomfertable chair. His back hurt, and he couldn't wait to get on the nice comfy seats of the train. He looked over, Napalm balancing on Portabello's head, causing him to chuckle a bit.
A few minutes passed, as the boy and his Pokemon tried to amuse themselves while the train took its sweet time. Finally he heard the sliding doors open and got up, Portabello hopping after him. The Magby hung on to the Grass Pokemon's tail, bouncing up and down as he walked.
Mike flashed his ticket and boarded the train to Lavaridge.

Nina kind of stared at Kilik for a moment, almost bewildered. "Of course I want to run the Gym!" she replied. "It... that's like the only thing of Sabrina's that I can use to follow in her footsteps! Plus, I can actually become a good trainer and prove to everyone that I'm not a pathetic damsel in distress! There's no way that I'd pass up this opportunity!"

The boy placed his hands behind his head and smiled. "Well, looks like we'll be fellow Leaders, then." He nodded. "I originally set out to defeat the Champion and topple the Pokemon League. But now..." he closed his eyes, imagining himself at the head of a Gym (Viridian Gym came into his mind), "now I think I want to be a Gym Leader."

Nina smiled a little bit. "I... had a similar dream," she said. "I wanted to dominate all of the Gyms back home-- back in Johto. But since this entire thing happened, my fate kind of changed. Maybe... this is a blessing in an extreme disguise?"

The mud on his clothes had long since dried, and was crumbling off as he sat on the nice warm train. He took off his hat, which was surprisingly clean, and shook the wetness from his hair. Some stray drops landed with a sizzle on Napalm, the fire Pokemon waddling up and down the aisle waving at one man in a suit. He had a wrinkled face and a large white moustache. Peering out from his newspaper, the old man smiled and reached down to pet the goofy Pokemon.
"Well my my, what have we here? You look just like a little Magmar." Napalm cooed gleefully, climbing onto the man's lap. He looked down with a warm smile, his aged face making for a particularly disarming demeanor. "I used to be a Pokemon trainer in my day..." Looking out the window, a wave of nostalgia took over him as he retold the days of his youth to the young Pokemon. Every now and then he'd make a silly face to imitate a Pokemon or person, Napalm flapping his arms in joy. "Ah yes, all I've got now is my Growlithe. You'd like him, he's a fire Pokemon too."
Mike snapped back into reality, looking around for his Magby. Seeing him all the way on the other side, he hurried over to the gentleman, reaching for his Pokemon. "I'm sorry sir! I hope he didn't interrupt your reading!" He bowed respectfully, the man letting out a labored laugh.
"No worries sonny! None at all." He reached out a wrinkled hand, "You've got a splendid Pokemon here, he is a good listener." Napalm flailed around proudly at the compliment as Mike gently picked him up, shaking the gentleman's hand.
"Thank you, I'm sure he just loved your company. My name is Mike, nice to meet you sir."
The old man nodded, glancing over at a sleeping Portabello. "My, they do seem to be getting more and more diverse, is that a mushroom on that Pokemon's head?" He chuckled. "My name is Albert, it is nice to see some youngsters these days have manners."
"Thank you," The boy smiled at the comment, looking over at Portabello. "You must not be from Hoenn?" Mike set Napalm down, who hurried back to the seat and sat next to the well dressed old man.

"Kanto my boy." Albert pet the Magby once more. "I'm on a trip to visit my grandson who lives in Hoenn, Lavaridge Town."
"That's where I'm from." Mike said with a smile. "I'm going back there to stock up on some moves before I challenge the Gym Leader again. She's a friend of mine." The boy blushed slightly at the thought of Flannery.
"Again? Does that mean you lost the first time?" The old man narrowed his eyes, noting the young trainer's expression.
"Yeah," He hung his head shamefully. "I don't really dwell on losing, but this was just pathetic. I could have mopped the floor with her, I just couldn't focus." Albert flashed a smile, knowing just what Mike meant.
"You love this girl?" He asked, handing Napalm a Pokemon treat as he listened intently.
"...yes." The boy sat down in the seat opposite Albert, letting out a sigh.
"My boy, love is nothing to let stir inside of you. You must show her that the feelings you hold deep are nothing to be triffled with. Show her just how strong you can be. I'm sure she'll be all over you then." The old man laughed as Mike's face grew redder than his Magby. "Here, let me give you my PokeDex number in case you ever need advice on Pokemon or anything."
The boy happily accepted the elder man's kindness, glad to have someone to talk to as well. The train slowed to a halt, reaching its destination. "Thank you sir, I'll be sure to call sometime."
"Maybe I'll do so too." Albert got up, giving Napalm one last pat. He grabbed his briefcase and hat, walking of the train. Mike recalled his sleeping Breloom, stepping off as well, Napalm in his arms. "Let's go get some of those moves shall we?"

Lavaridge never seemed to be affected by rain, at least anything noticeable. The ground made welcome 'thap' noises as he walked, the dry earth another characteristic Mike enjoyed about his hometown. "It's so good to be back!" He took in a deep breath, the clean volcanic air filling his lungs. "Time to go shopping!" The Mart just around the corner, the boy dashed forward, Napalm still in his arms.
He entered the Pokemon mart, quickly making his way to the TM section and waving to the shop keep. Flipping through the myriad of colored discs, Mike looked for a certain fighting move. "Let's see, this one for Xanthos, and finally one for Beacon! He'll be happy for that one." He picked two brown tinted discs, moving to the deep purple section. "TM29...that's yours Napalm!" The Magby wriggled around happily, excited for his new move. "Aaand Flamethrower for Felsic and we're done!" He brought the four discs over to the counter, the total being an intimidating $10,000. Much to the cashier's surprise the trainer quickly pulled out just that much, with $1000 to spare.
Following the transaction, Mike went outside and released Xanthos, Beacon, and Felsic, setting Napalm down on the ground.
