Just a light warm up, five minutes on the rope. Shijo counted the seconds instead of the skips. "180, 1,2,3,4..."

He slowly picked up pace in his skips as he reached his five minute mark. "6,7,8,9, TIME!"

He tossed his rope aside and walked to his sparring tree. "1,000 punches! 1,2,3,4,5,6..."

He didn't stop punching the tree for a second. He kept a perfect frequence of punches. "8,9,60,1,2,3..."

He was well past the hundred mark, and his arms weren't even tired yet. He started to punch the tree harder and faster. "5,6,7,8,9,30,1..."

Shijo knew that he would have to train his hardest to become a chunnin. He imagined his opponent in the tree as he punched it. "9,200,1,2,3,4,5..."

He imagined he was fighting in the semi-finals, this match deciding who moved on. "5,6,7,8,9,70,1..."
