Nuclearwinter hey how about this idea: Ork Demolition Derby! make a custom set of rules to build and customize a truck, load it with weapons and boyz, an get to smash en! you need a really good set of custom rules for it though. And mabey a way to loot other destroyed truks or an XP system. Thats such a cool idea XD Could possibly work as well.

Pontius Pirate lord_illpalazzo A.R.G.U.S Mykal Oryn Interesting Ork idea my friends and I came up with today: Looted Drop Pods. Sure, they're not on the list of lootable vehicles, but they are in the Space Marine Codex, and they're not skimmers. It's a nice way to get Ork Dreadz and Killa Kans into combat. More amusingly, what happens when you 'fix' thier immobilized status with Grot Riggers? How about throwing Turbo-boostas and Red Paint on them? A Boarding plank? Stikkbomb Chuckas? I think that means you can't use them.
If you could use anything, I'd have a looted Carnifex, and have it with a Slava behind it, crackin' that whip.
-Mykal Actualy, it says you can use anything as long as your opponet gives consent. If they say its alright to use, you can do it. Maybe so, but all legality issues aside, think about it logically. What kind of Ork is going to want to hoist a massive pod into whatever aerial vehicle they may have, stuff other Orks into it, and let it plummet to the planetside, just to jump out of a potentially faulty door and do what they would have done in the first place, that being run towards the baddies? Was that sarcasm? What ork wouldnt want to. These are orks, so dont think about it logically. Anyways I imagine theyd get some sort of catapult or launcher rail thingy to fire it at the battlefield like artillery if they werent dropping it from a fightabomma or from a rock.

Speaking of Roks, I was thinking of making one for a center peice in some small campaings. How cool would that be, to have asquad of Boyz come falling out of the sky like a Drop pod... Oh my god. Thats it. I use Drop Pod rules for my Roks. It makes so much sence now...

The only thing is, from the few books ive read where roks came into play, they were massive fortress sized things. Whole armies came down in roks, and thus no matter how many casualties they had there were still overwhelming numbers. but then again smaller drop pod sized ships or rocks wouldnt suprise me much considering the orks.
I still like the image of orks boarding looted drop pods that are launched on a rail, out of a cannon or maybe even an orky trebuchet at the battlefield like artillery. Beat the speed freekz at their own game.

And realistically, Orks are masters of telly-porta technology - that's how they get onto the roks in the first place. This made a brief re-appearance during the Armageddon campaign in the form of the Telly-Porta Boyz squad.

Sounds cheesy, but since they would be deep striking, they would be have no movement the first turn they get down. meaning.... shooting would hurt. (6+save) ewww. Scavenging a drop pod would be a better option to them game wise. im more of a feral ork fan than a space ork fan. Squiggoths are awesome smile . Ever since i read the darkness rising warhammer fantasy book, ive been a fan of feral orks. The thought of a Chaos Champion getting headbutted by an Ork warlord is just funny. Imagine the everchosens expression. OMFGWTF HAX! eek

thats the thing with orks you can literally use any technology i mean what ork wouldn't like the chance to appear right in front of their enemies or shoot across the battlefield on a converted(and more importantly loud) drop pod. Even the rok idea would work coz for the orks nothing is madits like some countries where nothing is illegal
